  1. I put talons on my p320 last year (the grip tape ones). Honestly, for the $15 or whatever they cost, I felt like it was worth it because I hadn’t stipled anything before, and could have easily messed it up. (Even though a new grip module is only $40)
  2. I second this. It really feels like single stack is dying. (Not sure if anyone else saw the Single Stack Classic was cancelled this year)
  3. I think they do - Especially to get new shooters into the sport (generally dipping their toes into it with a $500 striker gun) That said, it seems like the CZ Shadows and Stock II’s of the world are becoming more and more popular.
  4. Mine is blended. I don’t know how necessary it was, but it works. I honestly prefer the Dawson ICE, having used both.
  5. Welcome! This is an excellent forum for all things shooting. Glad to have you!
  6. I’d tend to agree if we are talking about one single thing. But as noted above - Make it a point stick to whatever your plan is and execute it. Worst thing I do is occasionally go to “plan b” at the line. Throws everything off.
  7. That’s fair. Some people just don’t get it, and that’s fine, but they need to make a genuine attempt to get there. ?
  8. ENFJ. Did we ever figure out which makes the best competitive shooters? ?
  9. May be a dumb question, but you could do that with any number of airsoft or BB guns couldn’t you?
  10. May be stupid, but I’d really like to have an old Belgium Browning Hi-Power in the brushed stainless (I think?). I missed out on one a couple years ago for a really decent price
  11. I’ve been thinking about this recently. I started limited minor, and switched to SS. I don’t shoot the lim/production gun anymore. Had seriously considered selling, but I think I’ll hold onto it now..
  12. I noticed my groups expand dramatically going from 15 yards to 25. I brought the target back in to 15 and worked my way out until I had consistent A zone hits with 5 shot groups. I know that’s not terribly specific I but I hope it helps.
  13. I prefer fibers. I always seem to lose a black one, or standard dot for that matter. Fiber optics have been the only things that work well for me thus far.
  14. It took me a while to get comfortable with it. Started with a brisk walk, lol. What made me “gun shy” was losing a few magazines one time. Having a quality belt helps with that.
  15. Talons are solid, though kind of expensive for what you get. That said, you can get a whole sheet of skateboard grip tape for $5 or less and the adhesive is as good or better than talons.
  16. Dot torture is pretty legit, but to do at a place that you can’t do anything from the holster, you’ll likely have to start at low ready.
  17. Thanks for all the info. Jussssst starting to order some things to get started reloading.Ordered some precision delta long .40 and that worked extremely well, in case anyone was on the fence themselves! (Went through 1k)
  18. Started out limited minor to get my feet wet, saw how much fun the single stack savages were having and shot single stack all this year. No regrets! It has forced me to be a better shooter.
  19. +1 for checking weight before ponying up. Would be interesting to see how that handles though. Haven’t had the chance to shoot a *ton* of quality single stacks myself.
  20. I really dig 5.11’s range qualifier bag. It’s not the cheapest but it has everything you need and nothing you don’t. pouch for 2 guns room for ammunition, ear pro, basic tools you may need in a pinch, lube, etc. 6 magazine pouches that fit 2 single stack magazines per.
  21. Generally I have it disengaged once I get to my support hand. It feels natural that way. Finger isn’t on the trigger until I’m on target.
  22. I had mine pretty much built like an x5 less the slide work and grip module before the x5 came out, and as a result I honestly don’t have a good answer to this question, having shot both plenty. I have somewhere in the neighborhood of 5-7k through my FS p320 and I’m more accurate with that than any other one I own.
  23. Occasionally rounds don’t make it all the way home while feeding, and a little bit of trigger slap. But other than that, I’ve had really good luck with mine.
