  1. I have a 5.11 range qualifier bag that works well for USPSA in general. Has a slot on both ends for your USPSA card, ton of mag slots, room for 2 guns, ear pro, ammo, and misc stuff like screwdrivers and small parts. Not huge, not small. Not really specific to single stack but that’s all I shoot and I don’t think I’ll switch. It has everything I need and nothing I don’t.
  2. Strike Industries makes some that are pretty wide. Don’t know exact dimensions, but they made it hard for me to get to an oversized release and I have semi-large hands. Switched to G10’s and am extremely happy.
  3. Man I hate my bladetech pouches! Did the holster on a boss hanger though.
  4. When I was shooting .45 I had a bunch of brownells magazines with Dawson basepads that worked surprisingly well considering how inexpensive they were. I now shoot .40 and CMC shooting star’s. They work well. Have heard good things about Tripp Research as well.
  5. Ouch. I don’t shoot much multi-gun at all anymore, but it seems like I always manage to have something go wrong with my shotgun or rifle (mostly training related)
  6. Yep. Iowa sectional was chilly in the morning this year. First two stages I felt sluggish (partially to cold hands and partially to just getting warmed up in general). But In general, i shoot a lot better when it’s warmer. Cold hands usually = trigger freeze for me
  7. Never have - But I think I’m going to start now. I usually blow up the first stage or two and then settle in.. Really wish I could put a couple magazines through before every match. I almost always shoot better if I get a little bit of trigger time pre match.
  8. This. So much this. (I realize this post is like 2 years old but it’s exactly how I prefer to be squadded, also shooting single stack)
  9. It’s hard. I try to hit weekly Tuesday night matches if at all possible, as my weekends are usually jammed up.
  10. Anyone found something more convenient/lighter for a first person camera ? I realize this is about as small as it gets, just curious as to what else is out there in terms of practicality.
  11. I only ever had one success on a arms list and i think it’s because I was the seller. Somehow got lucky! Enos is where it’s at for sure, though.
  12. Thank you everyone. Much appreciated!
  13. Have not gotten into reloading just yet, just picked up a new (to me) .40 single stack with the Iowa Sectional a week away and no ammunition just yet. I'll be stuck with factory ammunition until I get a reloading rig set up this winter. Can anyone point me in the direction of some factory ammo that doesn't have any problem making major? (I only ask because I've read that Remington UMC sometimes goes sub-major with .40 and sub-minor with 9mm) Thanks in advance. Ross
  14. Can confirm. Had one Tuesday that I shot twice, beginning and end of stage that just wouldn’t fall. Ended up being malfunctioning steel, but still!
  15. AHhh I've been needing to do that. Thanks for the reminder!
  16. I don’t disagree with you, but I tend to think the point was it can happen to anyone.
  17. This is an interesting topic - I watched an MD get DQ’d by a high school RO a couple weeks ago. MD was fine with it, but a quote stuck with me. ”There are two shooters in this sport, those who have DQ’d and those who will” I do my best to think through how I’m going to do *everything* but I still wonder if/when the time will come.

    Fouling or?

Not sure what I have going on here. 8k (ish) through the barrel, mostly 115gr FMJ from various manufacturers: Full size 9mm p320. I’m no gun smith, and nylon/wire bore brushes have not changed anything. Any info/insight is appreciated. Thanks Ross
  19. I’ve actually had extremely good luck with brownells magazines as well. As stated above, they just work and are inexpensive. Good luck!
  20. Stage planning. And shooting all of your targets. I found when I first started it was easy to get in my own head and not engage targets (I just didnt see them, even though they were right in front of me. Still happens occasionally).
  21. What can I say, I'm a glutton for punishment! ?
  22. Older Springfield A-1 .45 - Hammer and safety are for sure MiM, and I haven't dove into it deep enough to know what else is. Mainspring housing is not plastic, though. On magazines, I've had surprisingly good luck with Brownells magazines..
  23. Took me forever to get back to this - Gun shoots fine. It's an older Springfield A-1 .45. I've been shooting all year with it. Trigger job is a for sure, I already have an ICE magwell in it. What I was mostly curious about were internals that make everything run smoother, outside of trigger work. I'm still extremely new to 1911's in general, so bare with me!
  24. I had a charity 2 gun match two weekends ago, in which I had two other guys using my belt rig. Didn’t check retention on the pouches before a match last weekend, lost 3 of them off of my belt when I took off for my 2nd array of targets..
