  1. What's that white stuff all over the ground?
  2. No, that is close, but not quite it. It did not have the screws on the side like that.
  3. A guy at today's match had a quad mag pouch that I thought was a blade tech. But it did not look like the picture on the web site. The mags were staggered instead of two by two. Any idea who makes this? Thanks
  4. I totally agree. Now clone that kid (and dad) 25 times and you have my third period class this year. If you thought the short time for dinner was bad try dealing daily. Each year the acceptable behavior for the majority goes down hill and I don't know why. Those parents that expect their kids to behave are becoming the minority.
  5. Someone help out a fairly new guy. What exactly qualifies as standards? I mean I shot the 40 yard standards stage at last years GA match and we set-up the long range standards classifier twice. What else would make up standards? How do you work them into a range that has very short bays? Like 20 yards deep.
  6. You can also look for an armscore 9mm double stack. They can be found for about $500 and use para mags. My gun(s) of choice right now are my STI trojan and Eagle both in .40. I reload and shoot USPSA more often though. If not reloading is holding you back, there are several companies that sell comercial reloads just for the gun games at a fair price.
  7. DP, What OAL are you using? I have some 250ct packs to try first and was wondering if you load long, short or in the middle. Thanks
  8. Funny. I figured this would be a good show to watch while I did my dry fire routine last night. I thought my reloads were slow until I saw his. It reminded me of some new shooter at the local non-IPSC match
  9. Will a kytex holster for a long dust cover gun fit a gun with a short dust cover? Basically will a holster for an edge hold an Eagle also?
  10. DP, How does that many come packaged. 500 ct boxes, 1000 ct boxes, or one big barrel? I'd hate to get that many and not be able to move them out of my drive way. If your planning on making St. Augustine this month could I buy 100 unloaded from you to test? I like buying Zeros from Ray, but they are going to $74K this month. Were these the HP you were able to get for $55K delivered? Thanks.
  11. Can someone give me a link for this type of match? I've looked but can not find any info. Thanks
  12. Another vote for these from this guy. His customer service and quality are second to none
  13. I spent the last 6 months shooting production. I switched from limited because I could not force myself to work on getting the points. I was focused on speed and the result was I got sloppy. Now I've switched back to limited and it seems to have helped. I'm focusing on shooting for the "A" on the target, not just shooting brown. I think that Travis or someone like that said somewhere that each division will help improve something different about your performance. The only way to know is to give it a try. I know that I started focusing for the alpha after I saw that speed alone would kill me in production. Now the question is will that focus last?
  14. Great! I'm in then. Now I just have to pick a division and stick to it.
  15. Not true, my single stack won't be here until next week I promised myself I'd stick to production this year and now I know I lie to myself and believe it the entire time. Good luck on that beavertail.
  16. Nemo, You talk about me being in the gun of the month club! Well welcome to the club. Single stack is appealing to me also
  17. I'm confussed. This is what I read on the web site: Points from the highest finish at no more than two area matches Points from the highest finish at no more than four state or sectional matches. Points from the highest finish at no more than two other USPSA Level III matches Am I missing something or do you really need 8 matches to have enough points?
  18. Obviously none of you have seen me shoot. I'm a "B" class limited and production shooter and a sharpshooter in ssp and marksman in esp. I'm hardly even in the middle of the pack, but even at my skill level I can tell there is no real advantage. We were talking about this same issue factory vs reloads about two weeks ago and all kind of agreed that the main difference was that win. white box 9mm was loud compared to our reloads with VV N320. No real recoil difference just more noise. Maybe the noise of the round makes a difference for some shooters?
  19. That's all well and good, and I agree with much of what you say. But now let's compare someone shooting a chopped and modified G21 loaded with 185 PF ammo vs. another fellow shooting a G35 loaded to 127, both of equal skill, both in ESP. Which do you think has the advantage? I really don't think it's that much of a difference. Since I'm guessing that Dave S. has more pressing business, I'll test just that. I have a Glock 21 for CDP, Glock 34 and 35 for the others. When I have time (read during my spring break) I'll set two stages from a local IDPA match and I'll run them a few times with each gun and load. I might even talk the local IDPA master into joining in for the experiment. I really think that the difference of the averages of the runs will be negligable.
  20. How about someone putting a timer on 125 pf loads, 140 pf loads and 165 pf loads and get some quanatative data. It is bad enough that new shooters think there is a perceived advantage/disadvantage between some equipment. I used to think so, but Angus and Dave S. could whip my behind with a single shot pistol (or sling shot)while I used my high speed 21 round USPSA limited rig. The article writer is merely stating an opinion about a perceived dissadvantage. I used to think the same thing until I put a timer on it. I loaded production rounds down to the 125 pf floor. I could actually feel the slide moving slowly while I waited to be able to make the next shot. I then bumped up my pf to about 140. I did several drills and averaged 10 strings for each pf ammo. Can anyone guess the results? That's right, I was faster and had better hits with the higher pf loads. Some people are making a mountain out of a mole hill. We already have enough perceived advantages/dissadvantages for new/less veteran shooters. let's not give them anymore. The next thing will be that he beat me because he practiced too much, so let's ban all practicing from IDPA shooters.
  21. If you set the cant straight up and it's close enough to the body what would keep it from being not allowed?
  22. Are CR speed versa pouches IDPA leagal? By reading the rule book I think they are. They have to cover 2 inches of the mag, mine cover over 2 inches, they must have the front face covered. The front face is defined as the flat part facing away from the shooters body. The CR speed's do. What do you think or have experience with? Thanks.
  23. So is it okay if I put down the announcers that make it seem really dull? They had me almost asleep. They certainly didn't generate any excitement/interest for someone (me) who hadn't really seen it before. Sure, that's fine It intrigued me so much last time that I actually researched the rules, stategies and stayed up until midnight each time to see what little they put on TV.
  24. carinab, Please don't put down my favorite winter olympic sport. Curling is awsome. Chess on ice. Much better than actual chess.
  25. Thanks sfinney, I'm putting in an order in the morning.
