  1. I just shot my first IDPA match Sunday and shot the classifier after. PCC - MA Also a USPSA PCC GM.
  2. You don’t want that older MBX comp. It’s a PITA to clean. Too many intricate cuts in it. Their 10.5” ProComp barrel is great… shame you’re stuck on a 12”+ handguard.
  3. Got nothing for Acme… but you can use “JClarkShooting” for 5% off at Brass Monkey Bullets.
  4. That's because they have a fantastic coating.
  5. The 10.5” MBX Pro-Comp barrel with the pinned extension is fantastic. Ran one for a bit before moving over to Davinci. Very accurate. Only odd thing is a bit of tuning fork ring from the muzzle device when manipulating the bolt. Can’t say I noticed it while shooting… but is worth mentioning.
  6. You’re spot on with the shrouded barrel. The 5” sleeved barrels are ideal for Steel challenge. Less so for uspsa with 2 per target required. You’ll also find folks running the sleeved barrels because they just don’t want to load a round specific for a PCC and the 5” barrel gives a PF similar to their handguns. For USPSA style shooting… you absolutely want some weight on the barrel/muzzle device. With that said.. I have both. A pair of 14.5” barrels with a pinned/welded comp for USPSA and a Taccom ULW barrel for steel challenge. My same pcc load is ~ 134PF in the 14.5” barrel and is 125pf in the ULW.
  7. No way I’d spend $500 on a JP 9mm barrel. It does NOTHING that a $200-300 Davinci, MBX or Taccom barrel doesn’t do.
  8. Yeah. Andreas has struggled with those guns for the better part of a year. This issues with them have been comical.
  9. Breek Arms Warhammer is my go to. Is thinner than the Radian vertically, making it easier to hook your finger and ensure it ain’t slipping off. Heck of a deal too.. MSRP of $49.99 and made in the USA (Minnesota). Can be bought direct from their site with free shipping or you can catch them online n sale at Primary Arms or Brownells regularly.
  10. If you’re only 200rds in… I’d think you just need to shoot it more. The G1 buffer recommended 200rds before bothering with spring swaps. You’ve gotta chamfer all those edged cut into the buffer tube and such. I had zero negative experiences with my G1 scheel buffer… but I find a better recoil impulse for me with the blitz 5020ss and with it being less than 1/2 the cost, I’ve gone back to it.
  11. I would presume he’s talking about a bit of brass “shavings” from the re-size; flare and crimp of the loaded cartridge
  12. Sorry. Got you mixed up with the OP.
  13. Factory ammo is far more inconsistent than my hand loads. You chrono’d it - what’s the spread?
  14. No inconsistent recoil impulses experienced either. Only a few possibilities here: 1) The buffer should provided the same amount of resistance on each cycle... unless something is worn/broken/damaged. Inspect your action spring to ensure it's not binding on the rear of the buffer and/or the nylon bumper on the Gen1. Make sure the rollers are moving freely and the roller springs aren't damaged or "mushrooming" on the ends (common with Gen1). 2) The ammo isn't as consistent as you think it is and you are indeed experiencing some velocity swings. What's the SD/ES on 10 rounds of your 135PF ammo across the chrono?
  15. When the "opinion" is also shared by NROI... you should probably take note of it. At a minimum... it's a bad habit and/or "worst practice" and should be avoided if at all possible.
  16. If their CZ offering is anything close to as good as their Glock trigger.. I’d give a look to MCARBO. Breaks ar 90°. Pre/Post travel adjustments. Not just a run of the mill trigger shoe. They’ve don’t something nice here. I run an Apex in my G34.5, but the MCARBO in my G24 blows it out of the water. Unfortunately they only make them for Gen3 Glocks… but they do have one for the P-10 guns.
  17. Pre-scoring targets should NEVER take precedence over at least 2 sets of eyes on the shooter at any given time. Even at a “level 1”. “Keeping things flowing” is not as important as safety and competitive equity.

As I recall… the 9mm mags were 6, 7 and 8rd with the various baseplates. That’s the medium base plate there… so I’d imagine you lose one round with 40… so 6 should be all that holds.
  19. If you’re loading all the same headstamp… you’re right, it is hard to imagine. But for folks loading mixed headstamp… there’s all sorts of wonky **** that various brand do to their brass. The most common problem I’ve seen is case wall thickness that tapers. So with those… setting deeper will absolutely cause what is being described by the OP.
  20. The S2 and 147gr Blue bullets are probably the most commonly used combo in all of USPSA… but okay. And the vast majority of those folks don’t have their barrels reamed… and they’re loading them to 1.08”-1.09” It’s certainly easier to load 125’s and not have to worry about the potential for gauging issues with the longer 147 projectile in certain headstamps. I’ll reiterate… If they pass the case gauge, feed well in the gun AND you’re not getting any pressure signs on brass…. SEND IT.
  21. It’s not weird at all. The ogive of coated lead and FMJ/plated projectiles is quite different.
  22. That’s a brass issue, exasperated by the seating depth. (Tapered wall thickness, stepped brass, brass with cannelure, etc). An issue with heavier/longer bullets only. Rarely seen with 115/124 at any seating depth.
  23. SAAMI spec for 9mm is 1.00” - 1.169” If you’re within that, your firearm functions/feeds and having no pressure signs, there’s nothing else to be concerned with. Send it.
  24. If you’re just looking for an improvement over milspec… the ALG ACT is in every non-competition AR I own. Great value. Advertised to be no less than 5#, but all mine are around 3.5-4# pull… and glassy smooth. Basically cleaned up surfaces and nickel-boron coated. Sub-$80 trigger.
