  1. You don’t have to be in Open with a slide mounted optic, mag-well and 140mm mags. There is Limited Optics, you can even start cocked and locked if you want. MarkS
  2. Bought some items from them a year ago. They are based in Canada, so the prices are in CA$. Shipping was reasonable. Mark S.
  3. Fastest way for me to clean the gunk on the frame and slide is use brake kleen (non chlorinated). Just apply oil after.
  4. I just got the generic ultrasonic cleaner with a sweep function. If you’re going to get an ultrasonic cleaner, get a stainless tub without a drain especially if you are going to use the Lucas solution and leave it in the cleaner indefinitely
  5. I have been using an ultrasonic parts cleaner on my cz’s and every metal parts of my fireams that will fit my cleaner for a couple of years now. For my cz’s, I just remove the slide and grip. Heat up the solution and go for 30mins in the ultrasonic cleaner. Wipe off the solution after cleaning. I use Lucas ultrasonic gun cleaner solution. Petroleum based so no worries of rusting. Have not tried Lucas on polymer frames, so no idea of the effect on polymer frames.
  6. It got EVERYBODY’s attention in our house when a primer tube full of primers detonated. Was waiting for the Police to knock on my door that night. LOL
  7. Slide ride optic + compensator + minor pf + magwell = IDPA CO. If the shooter does not want to shoot IDPA, shoot Open minor. No need for Open lite.
  8. There is an IDPA Division for that, CARRY OPTICS
  9. Happened to me once in my first few months of reloading. Dented my ceiling and bent the follower rod to where it wont slide down the primer tube anymore. Replaced the old bent follower with a carbon fiber weighted follower. I wonder what a weighted carbon fiber follower rod would do to my ceiling if a tube full of primers go off again.
  10. I'm not saying that CO would not have become popular. What I meant was it won't have that boom in participation in USPSA if it not have been for the round capacity increase. What's going on outside USPSA is advancement in technology for the common people. USPSA players use it to gain advantage on their arms race.
  11. You could try IDPA first before transitioning to USPSA. Both have movements, just different rules. You could focus on accuracy on the move, first. Speed will follow.
  12. If it was a coincidence? Would CO grow rapidly as it is now if it was still using Production rules?
  13. Yes popularity of CO came about when mag capacity went up to what ever fits the 140 mm mag. When I started shooting CO, there where only 1 or 2 shooters in the clubs that I shoot at. It exploded when rules for CO became like Limited.
  14. Legal as long as it fits the box and makes weight. In my case, I have a frame mounted *thumb rest [generic]* trimmed to fit the box. MarkS
  15. There is always IDPA, no major pf except for CDP. Slide ports are also allowed. Mark
  16. I’m for major/minor scoring as well for LO. A place for shooters with limited major pistols who wants to shoot with optics, a division to shoot in, In case it becomes a provisional division. Same reason for A fudgecicle nobody but a few crayon chewers and winder likkers want pistol + optic.
  17. I’m deeply committed to CO. Started when it was still a provisional division and with production div. rules. I’m pro LO, a place for SAO pistols especially 2011’s to compete in. (Don’t be hypocrites, all that have used 2011’s know their advantage in our game.)
  18. I'm no expert in this matter. So I don't have any idea of what specifications I need/want when I send my frame, slide and small parts in. Only thing I know is that I want it black nitrided. I'll most likely go with what H&M would suggest.
  19. The nearest H&M near me is in AZ which is a 4hr drive. So driving there is not an option. However, I called them up and asked them if they do black nitriding for individuals. They said yes, just send them the part/s you want nitrided with your info and instructions on what to do. $350 for the whole pistol(sand/media blasting is free upon request). 5-7 days business days turn around.
  20. Walk- in for me will be a problem. Will need to ship it to them, but not until I can contact them.
  21. I’ll just try to find a 2nd party that will send/do black nitriding for frames and slide. thankyou, Mark
