  1. Early unlocking is the main problem. And shooters ability.
  2. Did you get bumped up to GM from the match performance? I wont be surprised to see you in the super squad one of these days.
  3. I will post video of a Tuesday Night Action 3 stage match. One the last stage it was a 14.30 par sec time. I remember I was slow on my last reload so I just indexed and started hosing. To my surprise I hit 6/7 plates. Whats the max distance you guys would index on? The par time stage was set at 7 yards. https://youtu.be/d2q55Tjm7m4?t=1m1s
  4. some people use more of their trigger finger when shooting with strong hand or weak hand. Trigger finger all the way in till the first knuckle.
  5. NVM I keep forgetting I have to lock my right wrist too.
  6. I have noticed I aim for the lower portion of the A zone targets. Not good sense I jerk down more often than up. Iam trying to get more practice dry firing/ live fire at the top portion of A zone. Dont know if I should just aim higher or lift my arms up more. I shoot CO so I have a dot. When I aim higher the dot is on the very top of the glass and bounces out of view easier. I want to try to adjust my technique before it gets my muscle memory just reverts to previous ways.
  7. A95377 CO 55.99% First Classification was 54.99% 4 Classifiers later +1% damn no shoots
  8. I use a Vortex Viper 6 moa but if I could buy an optic again I would get one that has the biggest area of glass. Preferably tallest, like a Cmore. Here is a video of a p320 from a local GM. and a Delta Point Pro
  9. I have had about 6-7 times where this has happened. All at matches. I reload and there is still one in the chamber. Then I pull the trigger and the striker doesn't even strike. I have a few gopro videos of the malfunction and I tried to sort everything out but still haven't found out what's wrong. I checked my mag feed lips and changed my other mags in. Thought everything was good when I had a full seven stage match with no problems. Then had it happen to me once on a tuesday action match and three times on Sunday. I checked my rounds that got ejected and no striker marks.Anyone else have this problem. I handload 125ish pf rounds so I have used a 13# recoil spring with most of the malfunctions and changed to a 15# and planing on testing it before the Tuesday action match tommorrow.
  10. Great choice on the CZ SP-01. I was considering buying a Tangfolio stock 2 or SP-01, but spent my money on a Dillon xl650. Spend your money on ammo/reloading, magazines, a trigger job and match fees. A new guns isn't going to make you a better shooter.
  11. Maybe when I get to B class I will start asking people to film me but I would rather not worry about extra things before I shoot right now. I have a hard enough time trying to remember grip techniques and stage plans while shooting. I dry fire in front of a mirror and that has helped me tons with my draw(left hand was doing nothing at the start now it goes up to my chest). Just want something to look over my matches. After the match is over, if I dont film it, I dont remember much. I have a hard time pin pointing what I did good or bad, checking where I had a malfunctions. I have been having problems with my feed lips getting damaged so having footage of what mag I had problems on helped me out. Having POV is a lot better than nothing. Sorta wish I had started filming earlier so I could compare. I finally got around to youtube a gopro tips video so I can now edit footage properly.
  12. Yeah I just used my GOPRO on a head mount for a 7 stage match and definitely going to double plug and take it off in between shooting next time. Here some footage. I zeroed the swinger but about half of the 99 shooters zeroed it too. Last stage I had some miscues with slide locks. Thought they were misfires sense I try not to end in slide lock. Also loading my last mag from my rear pocket was awesome. So awesome I bought my 5th and final mag pouch after the match.
  13. started using my GOPRO at a steel match last Sunday and then again at a Tuesday action match. Had one misshap and turned my gopro to camera mode on the 2nd stage of the steel match. Also found out I am now classified as a C class shooter in CARRY OPTICS, 55%.
  14. I finally reloaded some rounds! I was sorta scared when I shot the first rounds. I had my Carhart jacket on and gloves. After the first two rounds I was relieved and took off the jacket and gloves. 147gr berrys. 2.8-2.9 grains of Titegroup COL 1.16-1.175 I went a little overboard and did alot of quality control. Used my digital caliper on all rounds. Plunk tested all of them. It was strange that the COL was in the range of 1.16 to 1.18 (5 rounds). All my dies are locked down and I would load around 10 and check them and they would be all random. Loaded up 52 of them and they all shot perfect. Super soft mouse farts. Only problems were I had 3 slovepipes. Hopefully changing out the 15# spring for a 13# will help fix this problem. And I will probably add .1 grains of powder.
  15. Xtream bullets has a 5% sale again on 9mm copper bullets.Going with 124gr and 147gr bullets. Forgot to add my friend has a crono. If they are only 70$ i might buy one down the road. I have a crono for my paintball guns but that is for 300fps. I have heard about walnut media and corn cob. there is a good thread about how everyone cleans there brass. Walnut for better cleaning, corn cob for shiny brass. Most likely go to the pet/feed store before going to harbor freight
  16. Loaded some dummy rounds last week and had my friend come over and adjust the seat and crimp dies and showed me some tips. Also bought his lyman tumbler. I missed the sale at X-tream bullets. so I went to Cabelas bought a lb of hp-38, 2000 cci primmers, and a box of 250 147gr berrys plated bullets. I have read the hp38 is almost the same as 231 and I can compare the data loads in the lyman realoading book. So my plan is follow the lyman book and go with 1.15-1.169 and 3.5 grains of hp38. lyman recommends 3.5 grains to get around 855fps with 147gn bullet. Might load some 3.2gr, 3.3gr, 3.4gr, and 3.5gr. My question for the day. Can you load fired brass if it was shot it at an indoor range. I just want to load a few rounds with different powder loads just to get some down range. I overheard a GM say sometimes he just picks up his brass and skips the cleaning process. I plan on going to harbor freight and buying corn cob or walnut shells this weekend.
  17. I just bought a digital scale for 30$ same thing as the hornady digital scale but different name. It has settings for grain,ct,gram, and oz My Coworker who is my FFL is going to lend me some basic reloading books. I have also almost watched every youtube video of the xl650 with 9mm.i
  18. Thanks for all the responses iam going to purchase a few thousand bullets from xtream today sense they are having a 5% sale on 9 mm bullets.
  19. Thanks guys, I have a friend that has a 650 and has been competing and reloading for years. so I have someone to show me the ropes. He also shoots the same gun as I do so I can get baseline load data from him. Think I am buying his Lyman tumbler too. I have never reloaded so this is all new. My first firearm purchase was in October in 2015. I started shooting USPSA matches 3 weeks ago and have been going to weekly Tuesday action matches and Sunday USPSA matches. I know reloading is not something to be taken lightly and needs all of your focus. I work as a welder so I know if you don't treat dangerous objects with respect, typically that is when you get hurt. I am good with my hands been working on cars/motorcycles for 10 years. I am also very detail oriented so I was interested in reloading as a hobby too. I have a digital caliper and a few postage scales from my brother. I cant wait to start reloading.
  20. I just bought a XL650,9mm dies, primmer flip tray from Dillon a few days ago. It is supposed to be at my house in a few days. I am currently reading FAQ and 9mm/38 threads and trying to get as much info as i can before i start buying powder, bullets, and primmer. I shoot a 5" M&P CORE W/ Vortex Viper red dot. Currently shoot in CO, so minor 125 power factor is what I am interested in. I have been talking to a master shooter and he said 124gn bullet would be ideal to make minor sense it will take less powder to make the 125pf. I want to try to get the softest shooting loads while being reliable. I have a screw in my Scaphoid( wrist bone behind the thumb) on my strong hand. BULLETS! I have searched Bear Creek Moly, Montana Gold, Xtream, Bayou, Percision Delta, Black Bullets, Blue Bullets, Zero, Acme, Berrys, and Everglades. I noticed the moly bullets and some others were much cheaper than copper plated and was wondering if the copper plated was worth the extra. Also had a question about the difference in heavy plate concave base and round nose? I am leaning towards Xtream 124 RN for $39 for 500. It will be my first purchase so I will be getting free shipping. Just waiting for them to have a 5% sale on 124gn bullets so I can buy a few thousand. POWDER! I have done some research and looked at posted load data. I found out there was certain powders used by many shooters; TiteGroup, Bullzeye, Unique, 320, Clays, WST and HP-38. First property of the powder I want is soft shooting. Next is cost, and how it fills. PRIMMERS! Federal small pistol seems to be everyones go to, but is very hard to find in stock anywhere. CCI is my next choice. Because of the Hazardous material shipping charge I would prefer to buy Powder and Primmers locally form a shop or individual.
  21. How do you change from the fish eye mode on gopros.
  22. I had the FSS kit with flat trigger. Before I started shooting matches I put my stock trigger back in so I could shoot Carry Optics.
  23. Thanks guys. I have filmed a few times when other shooters asked me to. I keep forgetting about our smart phones.
  24. I have noticed a lot of shooters using some sort of action camera while shooting their match. I have a GoPro and was wondering if I should try to get footage of my stage runs at club/uspsa matches. I have only done four matches and didn't want to have anything taking my focus off shooting. I always have the GoPro in my range bag.
