  1. The Stock 2 is supposed to shoot flatter, due to the bullbarrel. In practice, I think this is negligible. The Stock 3 is more nose heavy, which probably evens things out. Stock 3 has better practical accuracy, due to longer sight radius. Longer and heavier gun can hurt your transition speed, as pointed out. Personal feel and preference plays a big role here. Trigger and grip is the same, as long as they are both the same frame size: small frame or large frame. I have a Stock 2 AU which is a Stock 2 in Stock 3 length, supposedly the best of both worlds.

    CZ Shadows 2 is coming

There's no dispute that the Stock 3 and Shadow 2 are very much alike. The "who's copied who" argument can go on and on, but I don't see the point. It will lead nowhere. I'm just glad that CZ also has a full five-incher on offer. Competition is a great thing. Tanfoglio has had a 25% price increase on the Stock 3 in my country over the last 2 years. The Shadow 2 looks to be about 10% more expensive than the blued Stock 3, which is about right. Between those, I think the Shadow 2 has the edge. It has better trigger, better coating and adjustable mag release. In my opinion, the Stock 3 has nothing on the Shadow 2, except price and possible ergonomics that could fit an individual shooters hand better. I'm even considering trying the Shadow 2 out to see if I prefer it over my Stock 2 AU. About the trigger again. I used to have a shadow and, yes, it had a better trigger. But the Tanfoglio trigger can be made great too, just not as good. The difference is not significant for me, it makes no difference when the buzzer goes off. I'm not someone that needs the best trigger available, I just need "good enough" and the Tanfo is there by a big margin.
  3. S&B primers have not gone off reliably with my light xtreme spring, about 1 in 200 does not go off. Every single one of my Fiocchi primers has ignited on first try and Geco factory ammunition has also been 100%.
  4. Why not get the light spring too and see if it works with the primers and ammunition you use? I'm using the light spring in combination with the Xtreme Firing Pin and it set off most of the primers out there. Don't forget to get the matching firing pin springs. However, if you're just shooting single action, the hammer spring does not make that big a difference if you have a good polish and lube. Actually, a stronger spring can make for a crisper SA break. The hammer spring is mostly to get a smooth DA pull.
  5. Thanks, Gunsby_Blazen. Can anyone confirm that the dovetail for rear sight is the same dimension on Glock 43 as on other Glocks? Except slide width, that is.
  6. The medium spring makes for a clearly noticeable lighter trigger pull than stock, IMHO. But the light spring is a breeze.
  7. No, it's for the full size Glock, Henning don't have one for the 43. Thanks for the clarification. It could be easily machined to be smaller, though, just as long as it fits. Does anyone know if the dovetail is the same?
  8. No advantage at all, it is all depending on preference and the length of your fingers/size of your hands. Xtreme trigger has longer length of pull, both in SA and DA. Even though I have short fingers and small hands I still prefer the Xtreme trigger because I find it easier to place the trigger finger correctly on the trigger in SA with it. Instead I suffer in DA, but I don't use it so often so it's a trade-off I'm willing to make.
  9. Has anyone successfully installed the Henning Battlehook rear sight on their Glock 43? http://henningshop.com/t/glock

    CZ Shadows 2 is coming

Too bad about the bushing not being standard and making it into the IPSC Production approved list. Hope the standard Shadow 2 has good enough tolerances without the bushing.

    CZ Shadows 2 is coming

lol I can only speak of my own experiences, I expect there are Shadows that are both better and worse than the one I used to have. The Shadow sure is accurate, but accuracy is a relative term. If the original Shadow has no room for improvement in the accuracy department, then the Accu-Shadow would have no market. The Shadow I had was not accurate enough for me. To quantify, I could never get better than 2 inch groups at 25 meters, no matter how I loaded. My Tanfoglio Stock 2 AU cuts that nearly in half, and I would expect an Accu-Shadow and the Shadow 2 to do the same. My Stock 2 also has a slight play in the fitting, but nowhere near the amount my Shadow had. Sorry for using the word "sloppy", but it was bad enough to justify the term, IMO.

    CZ Shadows 2 is coming

The Shadow 2 seems to address all the issues I had with the Shadow I used to have, while keeping and improving on the Shadows strong points. My Shadow was too sloppy in slide to frame and barrel to slide fitting and accuracy suffered, plus I prefer the full five inches barrel length. If the grip suits me and my small hands in spite of the frame being thicker, then I will be very tempted to trade away my Tanfoglio Stock 2 AU for a Shadow 2. A durable flat black accurate five-incher with renowned and improved CZ trigger sounds like perfection.
  13. What sight combo gives the longest sight radius? This tiny gun needs all the help it can get in that department.
  14. Yeah, or at least thicker than the Xtremes. What's the point in having several grip options in the same thickness? Tanfoglio should offer grips that are thicker than the Xtremes, with cut-out for mag release would be great. Like Hennings, but also for small frame and available for us Europeans.
  15. Yes, the Xtreme sight is about half as long as the Dawson. I changed from Dawson to Xtreme becaus of this, I wanted the longer sight radius. The Dawson might give a slightly brighter dot because of the longer FO rod, but I haven't really noticed any difference.
  16. Different ammo/loads makes a big difference. I am playing around with different loads in ransom rest. A good load groups ~1 inch center to center, a bad load groups 3 inches. Test distance 25 m (27 yards).
  17. What is the advantage of a disconnector with only the left wing? That is, what is the advantage of the Xtreme disco over the stock disco?
  18. You really need to hold the Limited in your hand to know for sure. Fit and feel in hand is the single most important thing when selecting a gun for competition shooting, IMHO. There's no such thing as "better" ergonomics. It's just a matter of how well it suits that particular shooter and everyone is different.
  19. Has anyone seen the slide stop break on Tanfoglios as they are prone to do on CZ guns? My impression is that this is a non-issue on Tanfoglios, anyone with experience of this?
  20. I've heard Tanfoglio are good with warranty on barrels. You're getting a new one for free, right?
  21. Seems they are trying to come up with sth new, but don't really know what they should do. I feel a little "meh" about these "new" guns. Not much there, not for me at least... And finger grooves on the frame is a risky move. It will never fit all hands. What their lineup needs is a 6" with conical bullbarrel. And the slides and sights on all their models needs to be revised to optimize sight radius. The CZ 75 Shadow I used to have had the same sight radius as the Stock 2 AU I have now, even though the Shadow had shorter slide and barrel. With Dawson FO front sight, the Tanfoglio was actually at a disadvandage.
  22. I'd go with the 9mm if you're not going to compete. You can shot a lot more without breaking the bank, most options with ammo, nicest recoil, highest capacity and plenty adequate for SD with the right ammo. And you can still compete, minor is fun too!
  23. Couple of reasons. I load for several shooting disciplines, I need on occasion to load harder than PF 125 and short loads gives a very small pressure window. I'm almost always outside the loading charts with OAL and have to experiment with less powder than minimum recommended to make it work with pressure on these short OALs. It works with what I have, but it's time consuming. Making freebore longer would be the best solution, but since it seems it can't be done on a chromed barrel I'll just have to work with what I have. Looks great, but I live in Sweden so I don't have the same options for bullets. Never seen those here.
