  1. My plunger springs have markings that match the Henning springs - it seems I have the 18# and 22# spring, so probably the 20# is installed in the gun. Is the CZ trigger spring heavier than the Tanfoglio factory trigger spring? Any suggestions on sear springs that are heavier than new stock/factory?
  2. Thanks, guys! Great answers! There were a couple of spare springs that came with the gun. Unfortunately no sear or trigger return springs, so I'll have to acquire those. There were however, two trigger bar plunger springs marked 18 and 22 respectively, and the 22 seems heaviest. Could these be the Henning plunger springs? As advised, I'll first try to change the sear spring to a new factory one. Or, are there any even heavier available? How about trigger return springs? Any heavier than factory available?
  3. Here's a slightly backwards problem for you tanfoglio experts to solve, my trigger is too light! My "new for me" second hand Stock 2 AU arrived this Friday. It came pretty much ready to race with Henning fiber optic front sight and all the xtreme bits. It was promised to have trigger weight to qualify for the Swedish shooting sports which require at least 1360 grams (=3 lbs) of trigger weight in SA. Unfortunately, this was not the case. The hammer springs that came with the pistol are the xtreme light and medium springs. With the light SA is about 1050 grams (=2 lbs 5 oz) and with the medium it's at 1160 (=2 lbs 9 oz). What can I do to get to 3 lbs SA and what is the preferred way to do it? Would like to keep DA as low as possible while getting SA to qualify.
  4. I'd cote mine too, if the PPC rules (distinguished) did not forbid it. Possibly not legal in IPSC Production either, but not sure there. Quite ridiculous rules, I must say. Coating a gun to your preference hardly gives you any unfair advantage in competition.
  5. I just want to find out how it really is. Take a look at these pics for comparison. It looks to me the Stock 3 has the deeper cut.
  6. Justin, thanks for the info. Grip panels seems to make a big difference. The small frame Stock 3 with Xtreme grip panels was the slimmest double stack I've ever handled, though I admit to being a fairly new shooter. Since you own both the Shadow and the Stock 2, if you have the possibility it would be interesting to hear the measurements of the bare frames. Particularly the width and the shortest distance between the spot under the trigger guard and under the beavertail (tang?). Could you be bothered to measure them?
  7. I'm a little confused here. Everybody seems in consensus that Stock 2 has a larger grip than a Shadow. I have just compared a Stock 3 small frame side by side to the CZ Shadow that I presently own and it was very clear to me that the Stock 3 had the smaller grip of the two. The area below the beavertail is significantly more cut on the Tanfo, making the circumference noticably smaller and the angle slightly different. The tanfo also have a small cut below the trigger guard that makes a difference for us with short fingers. My Shadow has the VZ grips that are thinner than the original CZ rubber grips, still slightly thicker than the aluminium grips availible for the CZ. The Tanfo had the Xtreme aluminium grips and it was about 2 mm thinner than the Stock 3. All in all, the Tanfo grip was significantly smaller than the CZ and gripped much better for me. So much better in fact that I'm in the process of exchanging my Shadow for a Stock 2 AU small frame, which is supposed to have the same grip size as a Stock 3. Is this because the stock 2 in the US is large frame and the stock 3 I've handled is small frame? From what I've read, small frame and large frame are supposed to have the same external dimension, perhaps this is incorrect?
  8. It's also a six-incher. Great gun for PPC P1500. They are sold in .40, 38 super, 10 mm and 45 ACP too, at least here in Europe.
  9. A bull barrel is a thick barrel. Revolvers and rifles can also have bull barrels. A bull barrel can have a cone lock-up in a semi-auto pistol, but this is not what makes it a bull barrel.
  10. Well, the plot thickens... Just noticed "EAA Witness" inserts on the list of inserts. Even says to specify small or large, should supposedly refer to frame size. I have mailed ransomrest.com, asking them to clarify. Seems weird that they should recommend CZ inserts if they have dedicated inserts ready to go..? I'm hoping Sandy didn't quite know what she was talking about. EDIT: Got my reply. I was correct that the EAA Witness inserts in fact are for the Tanfoglios and that "small" and "large" refers to frame size. However, Sandy also stated that the EAA Witness inserts also "takes the CZ", which indicates that there's not so much difference between the inserts, if any. Well, who knows? I'll just order the small EAA Witness inserts and hope for the best...
  11. According to Sandy O'Brien at ransomrest.com the Tanfoglio uses the same inserts as the CZ 75/85
  12. Yes, I have sent them a mail and I'm waiting on their reply. Still, I'd be interested to know if anyone is using ransom rest with their tanfoglio and what inserts they are using. Don't know when the kind folks at ransomrest.com will find the time to answer my question...
  13. Can't find any on ransomrest.com so what are people using? Will inserts for CZ 75/85 work? I welcome anyones experience on the matter.
  14. If it indeed is a 6" Stock II (= bull barrel) then it is indeed a whole new product. Felt recoil should be amazing, combining the best from both Stock II/Limited and Gold Match. Wicked base for an Open gun. The 6" pictured above is a Gold Match, they have been around for years (at least in Europe) in both plain and xtreme versions. They DO NOT have a bull barrel, just a conventional cylindrical barrel. The Stock II AU pictured above is 5", NOT 6", and has also been around for years. It is the Australian version of Stock II with slightly longer barrel, slide and frame. Also availible in Europe.
