  1. has anyone installed the ghost ring sights from the 'short' slp on the mk I ? I really like the ghost ring sights and find the stock SLP sights to be wholly lacking. my gun shoots slugs about 6 in high at 50 yards, with the rear sight pinned as low as it will bottomed out. on close targets i lose the little fiber bead in recoil. i have ghost rings on my 870 and LOVE them.
  2. do yourself a favor and invest in some inert shotgun shells.

    Broken Striker

i broket the tip off a stock striker last night at practice. the gun is a nice paperweight right now. i will be stocking some spares in the future. i must say though, i am disappointed to see the striker break. this particular g-35 has fired many many rounds. but still.
  4. btw all of my 75 gr data is for 20 rounds per charge. my 55 gr data is 10 rounds per charge. and i load on a 650 with rem once fired cases and WSR prmers. i am new to rifle loading, so ANY input is appreciated.
  5. western has retracted the load data for tac and you need to write them to get the update. but i believe the previous iteration had the max charge listed at 23.6 for .223 chambers and 75 gr projectiles. so my load is over max. but there were no pressure signs other than slightly flattened primers. my 75 gr are 150fps faster than TAP. My tube stabilizes these projectiles out to 200 yards, so im pleased with that. i was also pleased with the sd'S on the 75 gr loads. my optic is not good for shooting groups. the DMS lit reticle is weak and you end up trying to align a black dot on a black shoot n see with 4x at 200 yds. ths does lend itself to shooting cloverleafs. i was a l;ittle jammed for time and was not really shooting groups per se. just trying to get some velocity data to determine which charge to load. now that i know they are safe, I am going to air the load out at longer range and attempt to shoot some groups. ill update with pics when i can. this was one of the 200 yard targets. got a few extra holes in it as the boy got bang away also.
  6. my tube is 16in with a 1/9 twist. its a bushmaster vmatch and is not chromed. the msvn do not group as well as BH red bx 55 gr, which is what my gun likes and groups the best for 55gr pills. they group better than UMC though. under 200 yards the MSVN SP are fine. they appear to be blemished rem corelokt IMO. my die leaves a little ring around the top of the bullet, but hell, im shooting a varmit bullet for half what UMC ball costs, so im ok with that. the MSVN HP are nice looking bullets. but for true beauty, the hornady 75 gr BTHP match are just awesome bullets. im picking those up for $82 fer 600 from midsouth.
  7. ugh the data looks better in excel. anyway... 75gr BTHP with 24 gr TAC is my new long distance/zombie load. 55gr sp with 25 gr tac is my new plinker load.

  9. your club and range rules will be more effective than USPSA for this purpose. USPSA matches are held at private ranges, which have all the rights of a property owner. we had a guy spin a loaded gun in the air and reholster it at one of our big matches. needless to say, that guy will never step foot on our range again, no matter what USPSA has to say about it.
  10. my kids glock failed at the sccsa match this past weekend and it was because the former owner had clipped 4 coils off the striker spring. i got stuck loading magtech primers (out of desperation) and this revealed the problem. they are apparently harder than WSP. also, that lot of primers seemed oversized and were a complete pain to load. no more magtech for me. i switched back to the stock spring for reliability. the trigger is a touch heavier, but reliability factor trumps all.
  11. my 1.195 oal loads use 4.7gr TG andf a 180 gr MG JHP. my 'glock' load is 1.135, same mg 180 gr, 4.2 gr TG and it makes major (so far!) out of both my g-22 and g-35. YMMV.
  12. i checked length on the cases and it looks good. most of the brass was once fired RP from my own gun. i had *a few* of them that did not fit the gauge. edit: i counted and had 63 out of 1200 that did not gauge for OAL. most were obviously reloaded before. brass was mostly RP and about 300 WINCHESTER.
  13. my first attempt at loading rifle. brass prep sucked. badly. it took 8+ hours to sort a 5 gallon bucket and get about 3500 pieces. 2300 were NATO marked lake city, WCC or FC. another few hours to process the RP and WINCHESTER I was going to load. 4 stuck cases out of 1200. :sad20: but... the loading was easy. set up the press, loaded, gauged and striped 600 rounds in about 4 hours. relaxed and taking my time... rifle project: click for slideshow 1 5 gallon bucket of brass=3500 rounds tumble sort by headstamp mil brass = save for swaging... gauge for case OAL. long brass gets seperated for trimming another day bag and tag whew. that sucked. beer time FAST FORWARD 1 WEEK R P and WINCHESTER, no crimp, ready to process. Set up dedicated toolhead for the 1st pass thru the dillon 650 to resize station 1, lube and decap (lube die is pretty cool!) resize in the rcbs Xdie remove stuck cases (facking lube die!) brass is ready to go. beer time again. 14. i am using a $12 lee factory crimp die and i like it.

WestCoast time m-16 ? I wear an OW M-6 with a nice rubber band i modded from my extra suunto CORE band, which is my play watch...
  18. http://www.trutv.com/library/crime/crimina...n_seagal/3.html couple things... chuck norris = legit badass old school, blood and guts karate fighter. nowadays, he trains jujits with the machado's and im told he is one tough hombre. steven seagal, not so much. lied about being in the CIA, the mob... and basically made up most of his life story. chickened out of a fight with pretty boy jean claude van damm at a party at sylvesater stallone's house in 97, was choked unconcious by judo gene lebell on the set of some movie in 99. 'i am impervious to chokes' ... LOL this guy is a self promoting, pathological liar. and he runs like a girl! BTW, aikido looks like fun, but it does not work for self defense. there, I said it.
  19. my wife drives a 3/4 suburban and the nearest grocery store is 7 miles away. my carbon footprint is like a sasquatch track. the carbon offset from my non existent score sheets isn't going to help much.
  20. we use them for every match in YORK. we did it for a rifle/pistol this year (twice)and i scored the topton multigun on palms this year. they work great. anyone who doesn't like the Palms can spend 6 hours to score an 8 stage match/80 shooter match on paper and tell me how they like them after that.
  21. 3gunners are impressively tough... because the weather on saturday was about as bad as it can get for a 3gun match. it poured rain, the mud in several pits was ankle deep and we only had one guy quit. when you looked at the shooters coming off stage 7, they were just head to toe mud. also, thanks to our shooters for helping with tear down. the staff from york and topton did an excellent job. the palms worked and i was in the stat shack most of the day, where it was dry, so that was a plus too. congratrs on a great match dean.
  22. i have three fobus holsters and they are junk. i prefer blade tech when it comes to kydex.
