  1. My experience was much in the same as others; no material removed from front of the barrel, no material needed to be removed on the sides, minimal on the hood fit up and only a couple of light strokes on the pad to mae it go into battery as the video explains. Range time showed a great deal of improved accuracy over the OEM barrel. Mostly using my range bag and dealing with very gusty winds 5 shot groups averaged just over 1-1/4". Pretty well satisfied with the overall purchase and would recommend it to anyone carrying a M&P.
  2. I have read some posts on other forums about this load, it will not cycle an AR, built to shoot on a bolt gun. I am sure you could get it to cycle if you worked it up but like Mark said it will be hard to get enough gas built up before it peaks. It would still be cool to get 1500 rounds out of a pound though.
  3. So i was looking for some data on Hodgdon website for the 223 the other day and noticed that they publish a subsonic load with titegroup. (3.1 grains for 1,064 fps at 4,000 CUP) Here is the question... Has anyone worked up from that point to get the velocity up around where it should be for a normal load? The pressure seems very low at the published load but not aware of how much and how fast it will spike when you increase the powder charge. I know that there is no conversion between PSI and CUP readings but, I have noticed other powders using the CUP measure and reaching 50,000 CUP. (Benchmark at 25.6 grains for 3264 fps at 50,000 CUP) Pretty curious if anyone has worked up a reliable load with this powder or if there is something that is crazy wrong with my thinking haha? Cause 1500 to 1700 loads for 223 out of a pound of powder is way better than 250 to 300.
  4. Ha obsolete?? I just set up my rifle with one and it works great. Also have a AP Gen II Little Bastard brake...that thing is load, I thought the Miculek brake is an awesome piece of equipment and sold a couple of other shooters on it today.
  5. I got the safariland 3 gun bag...that thing is really well thought out. Almost too much storage though, loaded out i would say it is close to 70 pounds.
  6. That's more along the lines that the others were speaking about. I might try it still but will just downloads the powder charges and shoot minor for now or just use one of my M&P's until I can save a few thousand.
  7. There are way too many different answers to this question, I don't want to throw down $250 on a maybe...thanks for the help Thanks
  8. The pistol is a 2011 with a caspian slide in 40. I have had several different people talk about just changing the barrel, spring and maybe some extractor tuning
  9. Just found out it is possible to convert from a 40 to a 9mm by simply fitting a 9mm barrel. Could it be that simple? Anyone have any experience in doing this and how reliable is it? Just for information the firearm will only be used for competition, 3 gun for the 9mm and USPSA for the 40.
  10. didn't notice much smoke at all even after reviewing the head camera footage. It shot good and the gun is pretty clean after 100 roundsThanks
  11. they have loads of it at the gun range here at Corpus Christi pistol and rifle clubThanks
  12. UPDATE: loaded and shot the first batch at 1100fps. They ran about 95%, had 2 of 40 not cycle correctly. Tried some federal factory at 1200fps and ran 100%. Went back and bumped up the powder to get 1150fps. Shot 20 and ran 100%. Found my load and groups good (12" @ 15yds) with the extended probore skeet choke. Still want to do some more grouping work with the chokes but just ran out of time. Thanks
  13. ?? Been running them since they came out. DAAELS.jpgDAAELSa.jpg Does that ever come loose? With just the one bolt seems like it might. Kind of sucks to loose some of the adjustments that make the DAA's so good. Has anyone made the race master holster work?
  14. Ended up going with this recipe; Win AA hull Federal 209A Primer CB-1118-12 Wad 1-1/8oz of #7.5 shot 15grs of Hi-Skor 700x Should give me about 1100fps according to the load data. Purchased a Remington Versamax with the full Benny Hill custom package from Triangle Shooting sports. I haven't received it yet but will report back how everything went after the first test fire.
  15. UPDATE; The loader is set up and just about ready. I have about 3000 mixed hulls; AA, gun club, handi-cap, light load target, etc... some I can't read but the hull looks to be in good shape. No visible cracks or brittleness that I can see. So, can you load mixed hulls like you can mixed brass? In the load recipes that I have been looking at they call for specific combinations of wads and hulls, can you substitute? There is way more to look at then loading for pistol for sure. Powders are plentiful around here at the gun club. Looks like I can get any of the dots, titewad, titegroup, 700x, american standard, clays, universal, etc... I already have a 4lb of 700x so I think i will try that since I have never cracked the seal. Probably going to go with a 1-1/8oz load just so to sure i can knock them all down. Still looking for a good used shotgun to start with, Would love a Benelli M2 with all the bells and whistles but that will come later. Still searching.
  16. Came across a good deal on a Dillon SL900 with some supplies. I have been looking and man there is a lot more choices in loading shotgun over pistol. Very familiar with the Dillon progressive XL650 and since the SL900 is built on the same frame hopefully the learning curve is short. Anyway, going to be loading for 3gun and practice so any proven recipes would be appreciated for those two activities. Have not settled on a shotgun as of yet but and I know I will need to test fire the loads from it so my choices that I am looking at are; 1. Mossberg JM-930 2. Remington Versa-Max 3. Stoeger M3K Not looking to shoot against the pro's just yet, only local matches.
  17. I loaded and ran about 200 at 1.180" without any issues. I did however shorten to 1.175" because I did have a couple that the coating got scraped off while loading because they weren't pushed all the way to the back. I figured it might cause a magazine failure if they were moved up like that while feeding.
  18. They are out if you haven't seen them yet on their website
  19. Everyone in our squad missed at least on target completely. It was a tough one
  20. It was a fun match, shot a few extra rounds than required. the toughest stages were #5, the steel of course, and #3, the cabinet of mirrors.
  21. It fits my hand perfect now. ThanksThanks
