  1. Looks like it came with the same follower as the rest of the 930 line, while in the video from SHOT you can see it having an orange follower. Not that it matters much, but something I just noticed.
  2. I have 930 SPX and I definitely don't have that problem, not even if I let the bolt move forward slowly by holding the charging handle.
  3. Hey just checked there site and it is still showing Out of stock did you place it online or by calling? I am trying to get one for a 3 gun next weekend but haven't been having any luck so just curious. I ordered it through their website, but they are now showing out of stock again.
  4. They are back in stock at Buds. Just placed an order for one. Their notification service is useless BTW; I was subscribed to receive a notification when they had them back in stock and never got one.
  5. Very nice gun, I can't wait to get one. Quick question - the white JM logo on the receiver - is it etched or just painted on? Not a big fan of "billboards" on my guns, so I'm wondering if it can be easily covered up by refinishing the receiver.
  6. Great video! Looks like I have to stop by the Home Depot this weekend and pick up some PVC. How long are the "feet" of the base(s)? Are they all the same size, or do you have to use longer feet for the taller stands? In the video it looked like the taller targets had the longer feet.
  7. 1.015 is too short (unless it's a typo and you meant 1.150). I load my 9mm to 1.160 and it feeds fine in my S_I (Kart barrel) and both of my M&Ps (4.25" and 5" Pro).

Powder Valley have WST, 3n37 and N320 in stock right now.
  9. I actually use VV N310 for my 9mm loads. with 124grn head, I get a velocity of 1084fps from 3.7grns N310. I use Tanfoglio Combat Standard. Start with 3.6 and chrono. I have also used faster (and cheaper) powder like AS-30N and Ziira 2 for my 9mm with no problem except for more soot (compared to VV). Stay safe... I know several guys that shoot 9mm with N310, although their loads are with 147gr. bullets. I'm just getting into reloading myself, and I'm actually starting out with the same load - 3.1gr N310 under 147gr. Berry's with OAL of 1.160. Should make around 130pf out of 5" S_I, but I haven't tried it myself yet.
  10. I took a magnifying glass to my pin and it looks to be chamfered already, although it's still a bit rough. I'll have to remember your advise if I start having the "sticky primer" issues.
  11. Thanks for replies, guys! I'm glad it's doing what it's supposed to, because I was a little worried about breaking the pin.
  12. I just purchased a new 550B (my first press) and tried setting it up over the weekend, and I have a question about the sizing/decapping die. When I run a case through it, I can see the decapping pin raise about 1/8" (give or take) as it makes contact with the primer; then, it "snaps" back down and pops the primer out. When it happens, I can almost feel the vibration throughout the press as the pin snaps, and it feels as if the pin is hitting the bottom of the case first, then when I put some weight on the handle, the pin slides/snaps to the center and pops the primer out. I ran about 50 cases through it yesterday (9mm) and they all behaved the same way. At first I thought I had a bad die (with pin off center), but then I tried switching out to .40S&W to see what happens, and 9 out of 10 cases did the same thing (except the pin didn't raise as much as it did with 9mm, and didn't snap back down as violently), but on that other 1 out of 10 case it just pushed the primer out smoothly and quietly. My question is, is the decapping pin supposed to move up and down at all and snap like this, or should it simply push the primer out without much effort? If what I'm experiencing is not normal, and since both dies do more or less the same thing, I can assume the dies are not the problem. Could it be that my shell plate is off center? Anything else I should check? Thanks, Alex.
  13. .125 wide X .180 tall, .060 rod. Thank you, sir.
  14. Another somewhat related question - what is the size (width and height) of the stock FO front sight on the M&P Pro, and what size rods does it use? The S&W.com doesn't have any details on these guns.
  15. Thanks, G-Man. That mostly confirms my suspicion that a .200" sight would bee way too tall. I would also appreciate an update when you try your 147gr loads.
  16. For those of you with S&W M&P 9L, what height front sight did it come with? I want to order the Dawson FO front sight for this gun (which I don't have yet) and use the 10-8 rear sight (the same size as the stock rear sight). The DP website lists the sights available in .160" to .200" sizes, and says the .200" is the right size for a 5" M&P with stock rear sight. To me, it seems like it's a little too tall, because the front sight on my service model M&P is around .170" - .175". Anyone else runs a stock rear sight (or an exact size replacement) with a Dawson FO front, and if so, which size did you go with? Thanks in advance.
  17. It looks like a 4.25" slide/barrel. And even if it had a barrel under 4.2", the bull barrel would still make it not IDPA legal since it's not a factory installed barrel: Page 22: Permitted Modifications: ... 10. Factory installed cone style barrels on pistols with a barrel length of 4.2" or less.
  18. That's correct for the most part. AMG is the factory tuner for Mercedes, and almost every class (model) in Mercedes line-up has the top-of-the-line car designed/tuned by AMG in addition to standard factory offerings. BMW's equivalent to AMG is M-cars - M3 (pictures above), M5, soon-to-be-released M4 and M6, and M7 available in the past in their respective classes/models. Naturally, there is rivalry going on between owners of AMG and M cars. They are different beasts for folks with different preferences, but both are very nice cars. Edit: The car pictured above has also been tuned by the most popular and respectable BMW aftermarket tuner - Steve Dinan - which is evidenced by the badge on the trunk lid. This car comes with 333hp from the factory; I don't know what Dinan mods have been made to this car, but if I had to guess, I'd say it's now somewhere in the 400hp range.
  19. Not mine, and not shooting related, but one of my favorites nonetheless...
  20. You need to download the latest QuickTime. When you're done, make sure to un-install that iTunes garbage.
  21. I spoke with Beven earlier today, and that's what he suggested, too. Or should I say it was one of the solutions, but I think it's the most optimal for me. I'm going to order some SV tubes and Beven's followers and see how it goes. What base pads should I use to keep the gun "IDPA box"-legal? Will stock SV pads be OK, or should I go aftermarket?
  22. I suspected this was going to be the answer. I'm hoping to be able to talk to him today about some new .40S&W 140mm magazines, so I will definitely ask him about 9mm mags as well. I was just hoping to see if anyone has been able to successfully use the STI tube/SV follower combo for 9mm.
  23. I need to get some 126mm 9mm (9x19) magazines for my new double stack, and I'm trying to figure out if I should go with STI or SV magazines/tubes. From reading some of the old(er) posts here it seems like SV magazines are the preferred choice for 9mm since, unlike STI magazines, they don't require a spacer. My question is, can I buy STI 9mm/.38S tubes and SV 9mm followers, or do I have to get SV tubes as well for it to work properly? Has anyone tried the SV follower/STI tube combo? Do I have any other (better) alternatives as far as followers go to use with STI tubes? TIA.
  24. I just heard back from Beven, and he said the same thing about STI tubes. I'll be ordering a few and getting Beven's spring and follower kits. Now I just need to decide on the base pads - right now I'm torn between Dawson's and Grams; both seem to be the best of the best, so it won't be an easy decision.
