  1. IDPAforum has switched software to a new system that actually has a decent search. Thread about female bodies and holsters.
  2. Hey, Boy. That there be a can of worms yer opening I remember the exciting months between the first draft of the current rulebook and its finalized form. Wish I could find a copy now... but there was language about "some females with curves" needing holster dispensation. I posted a thread on IDPAforum beginning with the question "Who among you has the ball$ to decide which females are curvaceous ??" If any of you have wondered where Corky M's "have cloth tape will travel" sig line comes from... that be the occasion.... Jane, on whom a DOH Blade-Tech does not position a firearm outside of vertical....
  3. Thanks to those who helped test this software. It's now available for download from the Club Contacts' page on the idpa.com website. (If you have the current version of ForScore you do not need this free software, as you already have the ability to upload Classifier results to the IDPA website and to check your shooters' classifications and membership status.)
  4. Thank you, gentlemen Jane
  5. Yes, folks, the Beach Bunny is looking for a few good men... (More specifically... you need to be designated as a Club Contact by IDPA in order to test this software on their website.) When IDPA HQ started gathering classification records centrally through their website, I offered to write a free (i.e., no cost) software program that clubs could use to make interacting with the website easier. I had a version pretty much put together by last summer, but neither I nor IDPA has had time to test it thoroughly. Note that ForScore version 2 already includes all of this functionality. This program is just intended for those who don't want to buy my scoring software However, even if you're already a ForScore user, you can still help beta test. For that matter, you can take your ForScore shooters data file and drop a copy right into the data folder for the free classifier software. If you're interested in trying the software, you'll find download link and details here. Please use the link on that page and post any comments or bug reports on my support forum. Please also note that I'm not looking for suggestions for additional features... just trying to make sure that it's functional and solid. Thanks in advance to any of you who are willing to help with this project. Jane Fleming A16849 Beach Bunny Software
  6. Our local club runs a classifier as a match twice a year (folks can always ask the head dude to run them through some other time if needed.) Each time I shoot the classifier, I shoot it twice with the same Glock 35 - once in SSP and once in ESP. (In that I use the same WalMart white box .40S&W for both, I agree that it's a bit silly to shoot it twice. But as others have mentioned, the ammo requirements are different for different divisions. Besides, I'm so lousy I need the extra practice ) Why don't you ask the club where you're shooting the classifier whether you can shoot two or three score sheets (in two or three different divisions) at the same match?
  7. Patrick that would be awesome if you did. Anyone think it would change B'villes answer atleast for the HP? I use my .40 HP occasionally and nobody says anything in a local match ( they think its stupid too ) T I, for one, don't think it would change their answer. The M&P is available both with and without the mag disconnect "safety". BVille hasn't said that makes it OK to remove the "safety" from a gun that was manufactured with it. There've been a couple of threads on IDPAforum discussing the disconnect on the BHP and M&P, in one of which Robert Ray of IDPA HQ made a terse comment that you may interpret as you will... M&P thread BHP thread
  8. But be aware that if you put in a barrel of a different caliber, as the rule you quote implies that will land you in ESP. This is not true of guns like the SIG P226 or P229, where the caliber is not stamped on the slide and the gun is available from the factory in either caliber.
  9. [drift] Trail... Although the chances of getting caught may be quite slim, I hope your generous friends who lend other shooters 30-round mags for a match in California realize that that could incur a felony prosecution. From http://caag.state.ca.us/firearms/regs/sb23indx.php [/drift]
  10. Or even a pamphlet without images. I do a handout for our new shooters' orientation. There was recently a thread on IDPAforum about new shooters briefings. I posted our handout and Bubba posted two that his club uses.

    The FTDR

He obviously had 7 rounds by the time he engaged that group of three close-up targets. Presumably, he'd engaged a couple of other targets previously (kindly add two more bam-bams to my prior post ) As for the CoF of the Nats stage in question, you were not required to make any specific kind of reload on the clock at any specific point.

    The FTDR

I personally would like to see the round-dumping rule dropped in the next rule book. The most blatant instance that I've seen was by an IPSC GM at a sanctioned IDPA match. Several targets at 6 or eight feet. Bam-bam; bam-bam; bam-bam-bam; slidelock. (Not called by the SO) Or should I rephrase that? The most blatant instance that I think with great certainty I've seen (my mind-reading certification having expired in 2004) There's also an inherent contradiction between discouraging tac or RWR on the clock, but requiring them on stage 3 of the Classifier. Of course, I think it would be unfair to remove them from the Classifier at this point without then requiring everybody to reclassify. My suggestion would be to dump the round-dump rule altogether. Also drop discouraging tac/RWR on the clock. Just keep the requirement that you can't leave a mag on the ground unless the gun is at slidelock. And let the shooter sort it out. 'Cauz even Dirty Harry wasn't a good round counter: "I know what you're thinking. Did he fire six shots or only five? Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement, I've kinda lost track myself" Or had he really lost count?? LOL...
  13. The day the SO/staff shot (Wednesday) it was perhaps 15 degrees hotter than the rest of the shooting days. One of the guys on the squad I shot with got a reshoot after putting several wheelgun rounds into the ones on stage 2 and having them just sit there intact, laughing at him. It was about 1:30 or 2PM, so I'm guessing the heat may have softened them a bit and been a factor.
  14. Not to mention the women To anyone who asks me how I shot the match, my reply is "I had fun" And my score isn't even quite three times! that of the current overall leader (Donnie Burton, who beat Taran by twenty plus seconds). A few sprinkles of rain today cooled things off by about 10 degrees. Preliminary results now online show well over three hundred shooters. Fun to get to meet a number of people I've only known online, as well as to see others again.
  15. I LOVE that kind of stage! And to have a whole match follow that approach is great! Let the CoF dictate what the shooter does, rather than trying to remember a set choreography after the buzzer. We've had some discussions about this type of CoF on idpaforum.com. I'm going to post a link there to this thread. And yes, the Masters is listed on the IDPA website as a sanctioned match.
  16. Only if they've figured a way to have the cardboard targets shoot back. Then I think we'd REALLY see a voluntary increase in the use of cover
  17. Site seems fine when I just tried. Are you going to http://www.nepaidpascores.net/ ?
  18. Several people on IDPAforum.com have said they're on the waiting list. Apparently the match filled up within the first few days after they began accepting applications. Remember, too, that in order to be eligible to shoot the match, you need to have shot two sanctioned matches between June 1, 2006 and June 30, 2007. You might phone IDPA and ask what the status of the waitlist is.
  19. Squads, division/classification listings, etc. are posted on the IDPA.com site. Looks like 14 CDP/MA. Including, wouldya believe, Dave Sevigny.
  20. I'll look forward to seeing the hat again... and the rest of you, Mike Are you and Jennifer bringing Travis? I'm shooting with the SOs on Wednesday. Being computer girl the rest of the time. The airline changed my flights, so now I get into Philadelphia at 10:30PM on Monday. Hope to make it to the hotel by 1AM.
  21. Now at 721 scores entered with only a few more days remaining But UNCLASSIFIED and/or NO IDPA NUMBER shooters just have until July 31 to get updated IDPA info to Walt or you'll be dropped from the match.
  22. My only question.... Was the wench blonde or brunette???
  23. [drift] To add to what HotBrass says... It's a good idea to remind SHOOTERS of their responsibility in putting their initials on the score sheets. Some shooters don't bother, or don't even look at the score sheet... whether from laziness or because they don't want to be seen as range lawyers. When you're entering scores and get a score sheet with no time AND BOTH THE SO AND SHOOTER HAVE SIGNED IT... ARGH! The shooter should make sure his score sheet is legible and complete before signing it! [/drift]
  24. You might also want to post this in the Major Match section on IDPAforum.com
  25. Wouldya believe 549 scored to date?? But UNCLASSIFIED and/or NO IDPA NUMBER shooters just have until July 31 to get updated IDPA info to Walt or you'll be dropped from the match.
