  1. Did you find a 1.5mm x 12mm coil pin on the site? I looked around and could only find slotted pins in the 1.5x12 size required for the right side safety. No coil pins found; only the slotted 1.5x12 pins. Will the slotted pins not work? From what I read on this site, the appropriate pin would be he coiled version. I suspect, as others have opined, that a slotted pin would probably be sufficiently strong for the safety, but there is an element of uncertainty. If you decide to order some of the slotted pins, I would buy a few from you.
  2. Thanks for sharing that link. I've been looking for where to purchase a right side safety pin. Did that group buy ever go thru? Not to my knowledge... I'm sure if you someone interested at this point in time orders some up, and offers extras for sale you would find buyers. There was some discussion on the linked thread about the difference between the slotted and coiled pins. For the safety I would think either would be ok, but some though the coiled ones are more resilient for higher loaded areas in the gun. Are you aware if the coiled pin for the right side safety is available for purchase anywhere online? Or is my only option calling EAA and asking if they can get me one?

  4. mrd - thanks for sharing. The pics look good. I'm going to give it a shot with wood grips.

  6. So you would recommend the Henning contour grips? I've been looking at those but the $135 price tag has kept me from pulling the trigger. No pun intended. I would. I got mine 115 shipped when he ran a special 2 weeks ago. What's your opinion of the EG grips vs the Henning contour grips? I've got small hands so I'd like the thinnest grips possible.

  8. I've used neoprene tape before - some refer to it as foam rubber tape. It's a quick and cheap solution. Rubber base pads are probably the way to go for a long-term solution.

  10. Aggie - thanks for posting your question. I've been trying to decide whether to attempt this or not with some of my wood grips or to spend a lot of money on a pair of the aluminum Henning or EG grips. Let me know how it goes, what tools you used, lessons learned and post a few pics of the finished product. If it goes well, I'm going to give a shot.
  11. About a year ago I had a terrible experience shipping an upper from the local UPS store. I had packaged the upper and labeled it at home. All I was doing was dropping it off at the UPS store to be picked up by a driver. The clerk noticed the box was shaped like a rifle box so she lit into me with a million questions and accusations. I explained multiple times that it wasn't a firearm, but she didn't believe me. She was even threatening to open the box to check the contents. She even raised her voice and made some anti 2nd amendment comments. Luckily, there was an older gentlemen in the back that came out to investigate the commotion. He asked me what it was and then told her to settle down. He accepted the upper. That UPS store permanently lost my business after that negative experience, though.
  12. Yes, that is correct. A few weeks ago I purchased an Armalite M-15 3GN rifle. Something was wrong with the lower. Armalite sent a label and it was picked up at my house and shipped using UPS Ground. In addition, it was returned to me using UPS Ground. No FFL involved. No questions asked. Signature was required though for delivery.
  13. To the front for production
  14. If you don't mind me asking, why do you prefer the daa pouches over the ghost 360 pouches? no problem. The adjustable retention on the DAA is great compared to the plastic arms used on the ghost. the 2 white plastic screws they use to adjust for width are just lame IMHO. they could have at least designed real spacers, Thanks for the info. Do the racers work with bullets forward or bullets out similar to the ghost pouches? Yes, you can change them to bullets out Thanks. I looked them up but DAA's website did not have any pictures showing the racers configured with bullets out. All of the pics and description showed the traditional bullets forward configuration. Is it a simple process to change the configuration?

  17. I own the SA range officer 9 and it's a great gun. I put grip tape on the front strap which is more aggressive than checkering or stippling. After 300 rds the stock trigger feels good. I installed a Dawson FO front sight & VZ grips. Overall I'm pleased with it.
  18. Stoeger sells a blade tech holster combo with his BOSS hanger that's a great setup. If it's in stock they will ship quickly. They also sell the ghost 360 pouches in various colors.
  19. Check out the ghost 360 pouches. They are affordable & versatile. Blade tech for the holster & belt.
  20. "Trust but verify" is a principle my dad imparted on me as a teen that has served me well so far. It's hard going through life expecting the worst from our fellow man. There really are a lot of decent, good people in this great country. Take this forum as an example. People taking time to pass on their knowledge & help their fellow shooters.
  21. +1are vortex and mgm levers the same? The aluminum levers are made by MGM and then branded by Vortex.
  22. I purchased the boss hanger kit with blade tech holster from Stoeger. First go round the holster would not retain my sp-01. Called cs and they exchanged it for a holster that works great. Figured I just got a dud. Either way stoeger's pro shop will stand behind the holsters they sell and send you a new blade-tech if need be.
  23. Before upgrading to the vortex razor I had a PA 1-6 with the 3 gun stuff lever. It was sturdy and always worked. I'm sure their lever for the vortex would work just as well.
  24. I've got the MGM lever. It works great.
  25. My first foray into the CZ world was a sp-01 accu from CZC. Man, that pistol is one sweet piece of steel. I installed a thinner FO front sight from Dawson, a pair of aggressive VZ grips and now the gun is perfect. They're not joking about CZ's multiplying in your safe. Not long after I bought my accu I picked up a second CZ.
