does the improvement in time (from B or C shooter) come more from the splits or the draw? Or, do they come down equally, ie 50% each for the two components?
  2. Any feedback on his timing? I recieved an e-mail from Rick. Things are looking positive and contacting him now with your interest may be advisable. What's his contact info? It's listed on the website, www.mrbulletfeeder.com Thanks Cool. Thanks for the help.
  3. You figured out, from my poor description, what the problem is. Stuck is a bad choice of words. It won't drop free after I loosen the cam lock. The projectile is a .45 JHP. The collet is marked 452, but is tapered on the inside to a diameter that is less than .452..
  4. Help. The cam lock type collet puller works good at pulling the bullet, but I have to disassemble it to get the bullet out. I know there’s a trick. Can anyone help? Thanks - Jim
  5. Video!! We want video Jim. At the very least a couple of photos It took me a second, XD. Back to the thread. I use Dykem spray paint...real thin, dries fast, easy to spot, gums up nothing. Oh, for lazy peeps like me, it's easy.
  6. Hack, I've tried the Forster puller with limited success. I'm not sure there is enough area below the ogee(?) that is exposed on the bullet to get a good purchase. I might try the Hornady, based on your success. I won't tell you how many I need to pull (because of my error). I've already embarassed myself enough thinking about it.

  8. Will WSR used in a standard pistol load (9mm) create the same breechface problem as the CCIs? I've been using Win small rifle for 40, 9, 223 and 38 super (steel and major loads). My thought was to keep from buying two types of primers. Did I outsmart myself?
  9. That's a great looking setup. PS - what was your address again?

    Dang...that's just MEAN.
  12. What kind of hulls are most people reloading with? The REmingtons seem to work/feed better with speedloaders than other brands.

  14. I'm embarassed to show my SS times. They're getting better as I shoot the SS more (imagine that). The smaller margin of error and mag pouch placement (for an old, arthritic, fat guy) seem to be the two biggest hurdles.
  15. You would think that if someone were that backed up, they would tell you up front.
  16. 1911 single stack in 45. It runs, can compete with it, conceal it, buy ammo for it and the concussion will make most bad guys wet their pants and leave. If they don't, it will stop them. My SV racegun was tempting, but concealing it is an issue (dang those 28 round mags anyway).
  17. It functions very well and, pardon my plebian thoughts, is a "truck gun". Yes, I know custom is better. I have 3 of them. Really, I'm just looking to smooth the function for cheap. The other components are probably contributors to the feel as well. It's not a big deal, just looking for something better for minimal money. Any more ideas? Thanks, Jim
  18. Squadding is the easiest job in the world. Just ask someone who's never done it.
  19. Any help/advice here for lapping the rails on factory single stacks? They fit fine but aren't "slick" like a good custom fit. What grit compound do you use? What brand? How long or how many strokes (that sounds nasty)? Are you lapping other contact areas as well? I bought a pistol that had accurails from a guy. I asked why he had them installed. He said he lapped the rails until they were almost nubs. Scared me. That's why I'm looking for advice. Thanks - Jim
  20. Benny, when is your next class in Phoenix?
  21. Everything I've heard about both is positive. The only experience I've had was 3 pistols done by Metalloy over a 5 year period. Their turnaround was less than a week and the quality was exceptional. My .02
  22. Nice job, Derek. What's your mailing address again...for my frames?
  23. Need to try the mineral spirits. Been using brake cleaner forever. Wondered where that third eye came from.
