  1. I have a SV and an Akai. I must say my Akai feels better in my hand but that is probably because it is mostly SV parts. It has an SV hybrid barrel, SV steel grip, SV fire controls, and SV mag well. Either way find some guns that people are willing to let you shoot before making a blind jump. Good Luck and between Limcat and SV they are both great guns.
  2. Most of your customs do not come with any mags. On that note I love my Akai. I think the custom builders put a little more heart and soul into each gun. Cry once.. your resell with a great builder will also be better then some of the pre-builts.
  3. What is the lightest trigger pull anyone has got a p320 down to without any hiccups? Also what is the lightest red dot shooters are using that are holding up?
  4. The initial cost can be high depending on the gun and gear you buy. Plus to help keep the cost down reloading is a must unless you pickup some great ammo sponsors. Also finding guys that will split the cost of ordering bulk helps out a ton. And in the end you control the rest of the cost depending on how much you want to shoot and travel.
  5. This beauty is 13years old and still on the range being shot. The blueing that they use at SV is super tough.
  6. I use the PT slide stop thumb rest. I love it and didnt have to drill on my gun. I also dont have large hands so it works perfect for me.
  7. I have an older SV that has probably the lightest trigger i have felt but the reset is super hard to feel. Is there a way the adjust just the reset?
  8. Thanks for the reply Jcc. That was my plan. But was just curious about the option of stroking. Have watched all the videos on it and the logic make sense but I dont know anyone in my area with a stroked gun to be able to compare. Going from a normal slide to a sight tracker is going to be enough to keep my busy for a while without having to worry about any more changes. I am excited to finally be able to try out the world of sight trackers. Cheers and see you on the range.
  9. Mike thanks for that write up. That is pretty much what I am hearing on the streets. I have been shooting a full dust 5" SV with a bull barrel. It is going to take some time getting use to the sight tracker.
  10. I know it is going to be a ford and chevy topic. That is why I was asking for some people that have shot them and can maybe give some advice as to what they think for the before and after. As i will have the gun without the stroking.
  11. Are there any major advantages to the different trigger inserts that SV offers? Also I should have my Akai(used) next week. I currently know the gun is not stroked. I am going to shoot it for several months before deciding an answer, but I am looking for guys who have shot a stroked Akai sight tracker vs. A non stroked gun sight tracker. I am wanting to know if you notice any major differences. That way while I am shooting and getting use to the gun if I could see any advantages to paying to have the firearm stroked vs. Keeping it stock and saving the money.
  12. No Sarge, but some advice always helps. As I currently own and shoot a SVI I want something with the same feel. I have shot both a SV grip, PT grip, and a STI grip. As to where I have no one in my area that currently has a CK for me to handle that was as close as I could get to a handling a CK metal grip for the time being. And until then my judgment is still in the air on the CK grip. It could be the next best thing to slice bread but I wont jump until I can actually feel one and play with one.
  13. Was looking at getting a CK and had a buddy down at shot this week. He took a look for me and said the CK metal grip felt ok but the PT and SV grip were much better compared to the CK metal grip.
  14. Well change of plans! A great deal on an Akai sight tracker with a Sv metal lower and 4 tuned sv (Akai) mags came up that I am buying. I appreciate all the info and feed back from everyone.
  15. Thanks for the feedback eveyone. I have made up my mind. I am going to go with a CK. Going to put my order in at the end of the month.
  16. What mags is everyone running as well? I have 5 old SV mags which wont work in some guns without tuning and these are already tuned for my SV.
  17. Well that stinks Moloch. Not to say there was anything wrong with it but that is my concern with the DVC's and the QA coming out currently.
  18. I would not change anything on my SV! I love it. I am in need of a new gun since my SV is starting to get old and I got a smoking deal on my SV. $2300 with 5 old SV mags shipped. If I could find another deal like that I would jump all over it. My SV is going to be retired to my back up. Still a great shooter and smooth as ever. I currently dont have a backup gun and with traveling to bigger matches I am pushing my luck only going with one gun.
  19. Tyler are you shooting the sti plastic grip or are you shooting with the ck metal grip?
  20. I am not currently sold on the DVC as they are behind on orders and afraid that QA might become an issues as I currently know a few guys that are having issues with there stock DVC's. I also feel the the DVC is going to become the new Edge.
  21. I am currently in the market for a new 2011. My gun budget is right around $3500. I have been looking at the DVC and the CK. I guess I am more looking for some advice from people who might have shot the CK. With all the different builders that are currently out there are there others that are standing out above the rest not including SV that would fit in my budget. I am currently shooting a used SV which I am the second owner but she is almost 13years old so its time to give her a break and let her sit back and watch.
  22. Not sure if you have found a nice IWB yet but you might check out COM. I am currently using a IWB from COM for a full size 1911 and they are awesome. It fits well and I hardly even know its there. Just some more food for thought. Happy Holidays.
  23. I am currently using the Contour+2. It comes with all the mounts needed to mount to your earpro as well as a waterproof case. Also with the contour+2 you can remote into the camera through bluetooth. So someone else can start and stop your camera if you like. You can also change your camera settings on your phone without having to plug your camera into a computer. It has two settings for the settings you want to use the most. It has been an awesome camera and the battery life goes forever as i have only used it for shootig competition so its only on for 30sec or so at a time and its supports up to a 32gig card.
  24. I am currently running a safariland 014. It has been a great holster. It was my first race holster. I wanted the barrel support as a security blanket. As I have been shooting for almost 2years it has been an amazing holster with zero issues. I am looking at changing to either a Guga Ribas or a DAA race master. The reason for change is to try and reduce some of the bulk and hopefully some weight. Just my 2cents.
