  1. I guess i'm not able to visualize what you mean, something prevented the bullet from fully seating into the chamber and in essence it fired too soon so the chamber could not support the case?
  2. Both of mine are in the garage. I do run in safe dehumidifiers and a dehumidifier in the garage. From the security perspective, you cant see them from a window, they are bolted and there is an alarm system in the garage with a motion detector, man and overhead door contacted, shock sensors on the windows and a tilt sensor on the doggie door cover.
  3. Thats my guess as well. I'm a bit puzzled how ammo from a mid to large sized mfr can get double-charged, isn't there some sort of controls to prevent that? They list the "Ammo Load Mark X" as there pistol press and it has station function: "Powder Check: A switch stops the machine in the event of an over or under charge. This serves as a check on the accuracy of the powder load and can be adjusted for different powder charges." Someone just have a "bad day" at the machine?
  4. So until I get some sort of resolution I dont want to post the ammo mfr name. There is also the possibility that it was just metal fatigue. I am ay least the 3rd owner of the gun so no clue how it was treated before me. So far I got a quote from STI for and the ammo company told me to send it to them. They also sent a prepaid label to ship that lot back.
  5. Now im wondering if I should use the 3k rounds of new ammo I have from them...
  6. It was very surprising I shot around 600 rounds of this stuff with no issues all the ammo looked good, no weirdness with the cases, no feed issues etc.
  7. Slide is bent under the cut-out, so i'm thinking slide too. Not sure if any other internals are damaged cant get the gun apart in its current condition.
  8. The ammo is factory "Remanufacture" They list there 180 JHP at 1000 fps so 180PF if I did the math right.
  9. Had a bad day at the range yesterday, my Brazos HP Edge went Kaboom I had just finished up doing some 50yd groups and switched to a dot torture drill at 21ft. On shot #29 I felt a sharp jolt in my hand and it felt like someone threw a bunch of sand in my face. I looked down at the gun and the chamber was split open and in multiple pieces. The slide would not operate due to the chamber being bent out of the cut-out. Dropped the mag top round was damaged and the feed lips looked a little beat. Looked down the barrel and it appears that a piece of the case tried to make its way through the rifling. I am 100 percent positive that this wasnt an obstructed barrel (squib) then fresh round situation I saw the shot hit the paper before the kaboom. Im guessing a double charge? This was remanufactured ammo from a company. I was wearing safety glasses and am very happy about that. I am not the 1st owner, by the previous owners account there may be up to 2 others in the chain of ownership. The ammo company wants documentation for the gun, I contacted Brazos they confirmed that the gun was theres and it was sold in 2010 but thats all they will say which I get, although Ididnt need the attitude I got from the person. Anyone ever have an issue with factory ammo like this? How does it work out?
  10. Thanks! Top pic is the edge. Should I go with the 70 or 80 series?
  11. I have both an STI Eagle and Edge (.45/.40). I have recently been experimenting with placing my right thumb on the safety as part of my normal grip.Previously I would grip with my thumb under the safety (I'm new to the 1911/2011 platform). The eagle is significantly more comfortable than the edge, with the edge it seems to "bite" or dig into the webbing between my thumb and index finger. So I'm looking for suggestions, would a different grip safety on the edge be a good option? It looks like a previous owner did some relief work on the edge in that area. (Edge photos are first in each set)
  12. Wow, glad the system worked. I haven't had this happen to me. Does the chain start when its a bad seat then follow back up into the tube or does it happen from a jam coming out of the tube?
  13. I have all 3, there is some overlap but even with the services its cheaper than DirecTV (Only choice for me). We switched over to 100% streaming about 4 years ago and love it. I may be ditching the Hulu subscription don't seem to use it that much anymore.
  14. You could flip the stick on arm out of the way? That's what my wife does.
  15. The bench is pretty solid, the foot leveling system uses threaded bolts that attach to the feet. My shop has a grade in it and where I placed the table I have to crank up the feet somewhat. That put more wiggle into the table. I actually went with the slightly smaller table its almost identical but a bit narrower. It seemed to me that the cross braces on the larger one would interfere with flush mounting the dillon 650. I got this one: https://www.sevilleclassics.com/lighted_work_center_ultra_hd My plan was to have 2 of them 1 for each machine. It already has the lights and pegboard. The larger one might be more stable overall tho.
  16. Same feeling here. The tool head has a nice finished feel to it but not sure if it makes a huge difference. I use the non floating clamp style from uniquetek.
  17. I have this setup. I am 6 4 and it's too tall. I think it's an easy fix with a taller chair.
  18. So my dog had a no bark collar on, the kind that sprays citronella oil out of the end. I get home and he is barking his head off, so I take the collar off and look at it, figured it was empty let out a loud "woof" and BAM oil right in my face. My wife still thinks its funny.
  19. Ohio might not totally be out, my wife was an USAF brat, her dad was stationed near Dayton she likes the area. Would be nice to be closer to Camp Perry as well!
