  1. Have to check Huntsville out. I spent a deployment with the Red Cross for hurricane Ivan in Alabama, some beautiful country. I was a disaster assessment officer for that one, got to drive around 1800 miles in AL in: Washington, Clarke, Marengo, Choctaw, Sumter, Clarke, and Monroe counties. We were based out of Montgomery. Is it pretty different that far north?
  2. AZ is on the list but I don't want the Phoenix area, lived there when I was a kid. I would like some land so I can shoot.
  3. I was thinking about southern Utah, it's very beautiful there. Not sure how we'd feel about the religious climate there.
  4. Hi, So my wife and I are considering a relocation to another state. We currently live in Minnesota and I feel that we have a very well crafted CCW laws here. Posted signs don't have the force of law, open carry, we are not required to inform LEO's unless directly asked, and I can carry pretty much anywhere that's not federally restricted, and some judicial order courthouses. Some of the things I don't like: No stand your ground, castle doctrine, suppressors, and MG's are tightly restricted to a published allow list. We am sick of the winter, politics, and the taxes of the state. I am self employed and my wife can get a job almost anywhere so i'm open for suggestions! We are looking at Texas, but I find the CCW laws kind of suck compared to MN (which is a bit shocking to me). Any thoughts?
  5. Switched to a lee factory die and works like a charm. Tried to call redding but they are closed for inventory.
  6. Hi! I'm pretty new to reloading. I've setting up the 650 for .38 special for my Wife's revolver (S&W 627) I have run into 2 issues so far: I'm using new starline brass and Montana gold 142gr plated bullets 1. I'm not sure what the bell should be like, it seems pretty flared out but if I make it smaller its very hard to place/balance a bullet on it. 2. I'm using the Redding profile crimp die and its kinking the brass around the middle on one side every few rounds. It gets better if I back it off but then I loose the roll crimp at the groove. I cleaned the crimp die and put a little lube in it but that didn't seem to help. Even ran a few through that I hit with one shot and still same thing. Right now the die is riding very close to the shellplate when its up, but again any lower and I loose the roll. I adjusted the shell plate by placing a piece of brass in station 1 then tightening down the plate at that point I back off just a smidge to allow the plate to move freely. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!
  7. Sucks man, good luck.
  8. Depends on the club and the events i suppose.
  9. We shoot 5 pin tip over with 9mm. auto loaders are allowed 8 rounds so it's better than 6.
  10. Mine switches sometimes.. Hasn't happened with firearms much but with archery boom id switch and miss the bail every 100 shots or so. I think you just keep practicing.
  11. Go photoelectric on the smoke. Get separate smoke and Co units. Remember that heat detectors are not life safety devices by the time they react you all ready have an established fire. I would go with an interconnected system. Check out alarmgrid.com. I'm a customer no other affiliation. I also owned/worked for alarm companies.
