    Sig P320

Bruce Gray announced last night that Gray Guns is now accepting P320s for trigger work. He also has his custom P320 rear sight options and the new uncaptured guide rod. The guide rod is a "fat" design that adds half an ounce even though it's stainless steel. It is designed to allow you to run standard 1911 recoil springs on your P320. I ordered one from GGI this morning with a 13lb recoil spring and will report back with results once get it. Here is the link for the stainless finish but I black finish is also available on the website. http://grayguns.com/products/custom-fat-stainless-steel-guide-rod/
  3. Chuck, thanks. I have 6 of his .25 +0s on the way. Glad to see support for the P320 starting to emerge.

I don't know the exact height. Tim Herron has a P320 with one so I might be able to ask him. I think Bruce said he was matching these with something like a .230 tall Dawson front?

    Sig 320 sights ?

Bruce Gray posted a good picture of his new P320 rear sight on grayguns. Looks very nice. He has also finally posted options for his P320 work.
  6. Although the graphic below is from SIG and it lists the dimensions it doesn't show you the difference in grips. In the two pictures below that you can clearly see the difference between a large and small grip frame module.
  7. I have a P226 Heinie rear and a Dawson front. The Warren and Sevigny rears for the 226 also fit but overhang the rear of the slide some. Gray Guns is also has a nice looking competition rear for the P320 that I have seen on some guns and would consider. My front dovetail was cut deeper than my rear so I ended up with a .250 tall Dawson front to give me the right POI with my 147gr Production load. The large grip frame modules are available. The P250 grip frame modules are the same part number so if you find one for the P250 then it will work just fine. I just picked up three from Tom Gun Supply. Looks like they are on sale for $35 too. http://www.topgunsupply.com/sig-sauer-p250-grip-module-assembly-9/40/357-full-size-frame-large-grip.html

    Why?

I think I have the same disease. Has something to do with thinking I have all these rounds now that I no longer have to be conservative. I just don't value each single round as much as I need to.

I love that the grip frame modules are so cheap. I have been trying some stippling and grit jobs. I am not in the business but here is one I did for another shooter.
  10. I know what you mean. I am considering getting them in a natural finish color to hide the scuffs. I was thinking you could take a second stock plastic base pad, turn it up down, epoxy it to another one, and remove the excess material.

The consensus is that the full sized is oversprung anyway you look at it. It still functions just fine but the slide is hitting home with way more force than needed causing the front sight to dip as the gun returns to battery. I am not sure what the stock spring weight is but 13 or 14 lb should smooth the gun out quite a bit and leave it feeling much less "flippy"

Mine isn't nearly so pretty. Functional, but not as pretty.

Cutting a few coils still helps but it definitely still needs a lighter spring overall. I don't expect GGI to have much available until after Shot Show at this point but I am hoping the flood gates open after that. How did the trigger come out?
  14. I have seen some prototypes of that. They look nice as well. One more shop is also working on some that match the profile of the P320 grip so there's will be no shortages of options soon.
  15. No regrets. Even without the trigger work I feel like I am shooting on par with where I was with the ACCU. I hope to improve on that this season. I was already looking around because I think the CORE grip and trigger reach is a bit too small for my hands. I am really liking the Large grip frame module and some trigger mods on the horizon might further optimize this gun for me when it comes to trigger reach.
  16. It looks like Springer Precision is now offering two types of pre-cut grip tape for the P320 and some new extended +0 aluminum base pads in +.25" and +.375" options. I am very excited to see the support popping up all over for this gun. http://shop.springerprecision.com/category.sc?categoryId=45
  17. But what if "factory configuration" has some specific meaning in the part of the rulebook even though it's meaningless elsewhere?
  18. Is a pretty outdated rule given the modularity of modern firearms. For example the SIG P320 is designed such that the serialized part of the gun is in a removable module that is completely independent of the frame, grip, and of course slide. It's designed to allow the user to easily allow a change in calibers, slide length, grip length, and grip size. They even sell size and caliber exchange kits. However, by strict interpretation unless I buy one that I already a full sized, 9mm it would not be Production legal for me to use any serialized fire control unit from any other SIG and throw a full sized slide and grip frame module on it.
  19. The WC Brigadier Tactical has now been added to the USPSA Production gun list found at USPSA.org

By the way, you should avoid adding texture near the takedown lever. It looks nice but technically that would move you out of Production division.

Looks like the original rear dovetail was completely milled down and a dovetail recut in another location. Very nice looking job on all accounts.
  22. Thank you. It sucks but it's the same thing that makes a G17 frame with a G34 frame illegal in Production. I am admittedly still butt hurt because of the IDPA double standards. Until Beretta/WC 96G Brigadier Tactical shows up on the NROI approved Production gun list it is illegal despite what Bill Wilson or his websites says.
  23. My CZ grip is around 3:50 on the video. Using the aluminum grips I settled on covering the entire week hand grip in grip tape.
  24. First time shooting a match with my personal SIG P320 today. It ran flawlessly dispute the 14 degree weather and the questionable operator. This gun is stock except for sights, a bit of texturing, and I cut a couple of coils off of the recoil spring. I am hoping to get an aftermarket guide rod, reduced power recoil spring and get a slightly lighter trigger in the next month or so but really it seems to work just fine for the time being.

I heard they share the same dovetail but to my eyes it looks like his dovetail is cut further up the slide and other portions of the slide have been milled down to make room for the sight. https://m.facebook.com/profile.php?id=117459881600246
