  1. Pictures as promised, dumped it on my imgur account and created an album: http://imgur.com/a/HaUqP I think the last picture was hilarious... Also, it was doublestack, .38 and 9x19 barrel, battery was dead but I tried a few super .38 and I was blown away by how tight it was, trigger - amazing, reset - amazing, and being the first and only .38 super I tried, I was dumbstruck with how next to nothing it moved in my hands... DO WANT, and the asking price is nothing, well it is nothing but having invested in a rifle+optics+gear... and have two rooms to renovate... I might have to sell my some of my organs... Still not sure how this gun ended up in Sweden, but it seems to be one of those "once in a lifetime" deals... I might have to do it.
  2. Nitrohuck, I will try and stick to those methods, but most often then not it is "yeah, I got a plan, go smooth, smooth is fast, deep breath... *beeep* amagod, what is going on?!" and then it goes pew pew pew pew
  3. We have talked quite alot about this in my club, as we consists mostly of new(ish) shooters with a few rather experienced ones. Points vs Speed is always what you need to look for. We have one competitor that so far has 100% A hits on his last 3 matches, but he burns to much time correcting any hit that is not an A hit ie, he can shoot a string of 3 targets, notice he shot AC AD on the two first, goes back and shoots alpha. We also have a few that just blazes through it and takes CC/CD hits without thinking to much about it, and in the end the overall hitfactor between the two types are not that big. This year my training will be to find the balance, when is it ok to shoot AC/AD, when is it not ok. I will strive for A's during practice, but I will push the tempo up to 110%, I will back down to 90% see if I can increase the A hit ratio and get faster times. I will look at what I am doing badly when it goes to fast, and I will even switch on my Kadet 2 conversion from time to time to see where my hits are (after all .22lr never lies when it comes to finding out how you are prepping the triger, and what goes on when you try to shot fast.) I am still a happy camper when it comes to IPSC, I really love the sport just becuse of the aspects of everything in it, but also I found out that I do not really want to be average when I compete - I want to do better. After all, I did sign up for a training course with Eric Graffuel just a few weeks from now. I want to improve, and I want to learn how to improve.
  4. Pat, that is almost spot on what the gun looks like. I will still snap some Pictures when I get the chanse.
  5. Hopefully I will see it again at Mondays practice, and will snap a few shots. I would consider it if I seriously if I could spare the money right now, but I have ordered a Stag 3G upper for the Open division, and it will get expensive, really fast. I took the jump on one since I have passed all the requierments for owning an AR in Sweden, and more matches will be held Close by (by close - 2 hours car drive, one way.) It looked really well but it had an older "huge" aimpoint sight. I have to ask, how many rnds would a 170mm singelstack magazine hold?
  6. Got 2 buds with Shadows (and I also have one) all has slight looseness, max 0.5mm play. All of them group really well. Got a few Tanfoglios stock II/III in the clubs aswell, might be a bit tighter in the fitment, groups the same.
  7. I have been waiting for season 3 to go online on 3gunnation.com for ages :/ but it only says "coming soon" and there has been nothing on the newer seasons aswell. I need something to watch!
  8. Next time I visit the practice range I can snap some for sure, and post them.
  9. I was talking about the IPSC box, as since I like to punish myself, is moving into Standard Division with my Shadow.
  10. Yesterday while going to pratice I had to swing by my old instructor/examinator to borrow his Timer as I had left mine at home. He told me to come into his reloading Cave and I thought he wanted to show me his tinkering with his open Glock, but he produced a 1911 open gun, that one of his friends wanted to sell. He pointed to the frame and said: Check out the serialnumber: Leatham1 - as in Rob Leatham. I might be new in the sport, halfway around the world, but I do know that name as I have watched many of his videos. It had quite a story, of which half I have already forgotten as I was in a hury to get to the range, but it had one of the best triggerpulls I have ever felt, and quite frankly - the most insane short reset. His friend, also an old IPSC instructor/examinator was looking to sell of his Collection of guns as he is stepping down, and the asking price for it was 1500$ with an really old optic but 6 Magazines. Was told it shoots amazing with major loads but as it uses singelstack magazines, I belive it is a gun used for steel matches back in the day. I will get to shoot it in a few days and will snap a few Pictures. Posting about it since I found it quite interesting. =)
  11. Yes I have box, I have a SP01 Shadow, it will not fit with standard fixed rear sights and the 19rnd magasine, the thickness of the "floor" of the basepad is juuuuust to fat to fit in it. It would not fit with a LPA adjustable rear sight either.
  12. I am going to ditch my DAA holster (Tired of fixing it...) and is going for a Ghost Stinger, Clubmate has one, is seriously impressed after trying it.
  13. I am going to follow your build like on like donkey kong A clubmate has a CZ IPSC in .40 (the pre-czmate/ts version) which he is thinking of departing with. My ideas are running wild!
  14. My old instructor just built a Open G34 with a barrel/comp from IGB, and a slidemounted JPoint. I wished I could post a Picture, but I guess I am still too much of rookie on the forum
  15. I hate the fact I cannot look up items on the CZ USA webshop :/ blocked from any site outside the US
  16. Works great in my SP01, but it works less then stellar in my CMMG built AR... .22lr is just so fouling and it starts to cake really quick.
  17. Running a DAA belt, pouches and holster, but I find that I dislike the holster more and more. The fact that I have had to repair it 3 times does not help either...
  18. A stock, standard SP01 Shadow is about 1200$ over here in Sweden, and I still considering it worth the money. For me it points really well, with the slim grips it fits me like a glove. Then again, I have 5-6 clubmates who will never shoot anything but a glock. Taste is after all individual =)
  19. I have a Kadet 2 for my SP01 Shadow, took minimal fitting. Only problem I had at the start was some feeding issues (light strikes), it have had over 8000 rnds through it, and the only thing that broke was the pin that holds the barrel to the slide, a somewhat common issue with the Kadett kit. Sure, if you are going hunting for bullseye shooting from 25m(~27 yards) there are other .22s that are way better. But I mix it up at IPSC training since it will show you very-very-fast if you slapp that trigger in any way or otherwise does something fundamentally bad. Got 4 Magazines, and I like using the Kadet when I train reloads - afterall even all little *poff* is more fun then dry practice =)
  20. I hope the comp would be sold separatley aswell. Would be sort of *ehem* problematic sending my barrel around the World to get it threaded and fitted since I can get threading done by my local gunsmith Also, if it was looking sort of like the czmate comp, I would not mind a bit ^^
  21. Well, a RMR base that fits a SP01/SP01 Shadow will be a sure order for me as I have RMR sitting on my desk currently collecting dust Also, a nice comp that can fit good on a SP01 slide/frame = instant purchase!
  22. Last match of last years season - club match - pretty nice stage, started seated inbetween two walls, 3 targets infront of the chair, so you had to start with those, then move out from the corridor, and then handle the targets to the left/right of the wall. On the beep, I stood up and got a good draw, and while moonwalking out of there I shot the targets - no problem so far - but then... I kind of did not remember HOW long those wall sections where... so I started looking over my shoulder, sort of twisting my body to the right (gun still pointing at the targets I had shot, finger way off the trigger), and my feet got snaged on something due to not really doing a smooth backward walk. I could feel myself slowly falling backwards. So 12-14 feet later after some impressive salsa dancing (so I was told) I totally lost all balance, had cleared out of the corridor by some yards, I could feel that this.. this is going to hurt, turned so that I faced straight into the stage, pointed my CZ into the berm and thought tomyself "timber!". Thing was there was a small ditch behind me, and into I went. When I looked back I saw my RO, 3 squadmates (including my old instructor/examinator) standing something like 10 yards even further away, with sort of half horror/half amazed lookes in their faces. As I yelled out "did I save it? Am I DQ'ed?" I only got back "no, you saved it, but you have to reshoot". Why do I have to do that? the Clock is still running right?" - yeah, the RO said, but your glasses, and earprotection is here... with us.. MFW I realized I had ejected all my other gear when I landed more then 5 yards. Got a reshoot, scored 2nd on the stage - this time taking it REALLY slowly out of the corridor. Note to self - plan plan plan - do not dance...
  23. To answer Zoomy and Leadpilot questions. Zoomy, IPSC is gaining popularity, but it still has a stigma compared to the traditional diciplines like 25m (~27yardish) bullseye in international precision target, Nordic field (a form of shooting mostly in, you guessed it the Nordic countries) and PPC. I do not have my IPSC licence infront of me but I Think it says number 15XX something, so while we are not many, we are growing. My club is ~30 people and we are holding a IPSC course in a few weeks with 8 new students, so little by little we gain popularity. Powder supplies is not an issue, since Europé has plenty of manufacuters of both ammunition and supplies. I do not reload (yet...) as it just is too time consuming, IPSC being not my only hobby I have to spend time on. I follow many forums, reddit/r/guns amongst others and while the US was having a great .22lr shortage, we had no issues getting the little stuff. Seriously, my club just bought something like 70.000 cci standard, and are Selling them to members for crazy prices like 250$ for 5000rnds... Leadpilot: Lets say the laws are restrictful, and I would guess some of the hardest in Europé (besides the UK that has a full handgun ban). I will describe the process for the average Joe. For hunting: Take a course, ususally either a few times each month for 2-3 months, or a crashcourse over a weekend - boom, any huntingrifle or shotgun is yours to purchase. For Handguns: Find a club that holds a beginners course, they usually only hold one per year, and accept no more then perhaps 5-10 students each time. The course is both a writen exam and shooting with a teacher. The course usually takes 6 months and at the end you get your "green card" and can submit for a licence for your first handgun - .22lr only. Another 6 months you can submit a licence for whatever caliber handgun you want, there are however a few conditions in all of this. - The club sends an certificate that you are Active in the shootingclub, that you attend practice sessions and competitions - without this, no handgun. - All handgun license since 2003 (I Think) are limited to 5 years, then you must renew the license - no club/competition activity - no handgun. It might sound worse then it is, but in the end more people that acctually want to compete ends up being Active in the community. We had a few people that started, got their first .22lr licence, then just stop showing up to club events and competitions. We have extreamly little crime involving stolen legal guns, most weapons used in crime - I am sad to say - comes from ex-russian countries in the east. It is sadly a well documented fact :/ But aha! Average Joe wants an AR or an AK style rifle? Well, then it is IPSC. It took IPSC something like 15+ years to be approved as a sport here, the Police was not happy and despite wanting to restrict legal gunownership (all licence applications are handled by the Police in Sweden). Right now you need to have been an Active member of a IPSC club for atleast 2 years, have atleast three level 2 matches without DQ's Before you can submit for a AR/AK licence. We just dodged a bill that would have ment the end for IPSC rifle, and most any other semi-automatic rifle, as they wanted to make magazines beeing registered as a licence mandatory part, limit all semi-automatic rifles to 6 rounds capacitiy and no detachable Magazines. I guess you have beard these kind of things before. This bill was "targeting the criminals" - but it only effected sporting and hunting. All in all we won just a few weeks ago and the bill was pretty much scraped. Do I think it sucks that I more or less is seen as a criminal in waiting or the next Breivik? (the norwegian mass shooter a few years ago) Yeah it does, but at the same time, I have no need or do ever feel so unsafe I wanted to be able to carry outside the range. Since I took over running the IPSC portion of the club, I see alot of e-mails in the nature of "dude, I do really want an AR, how do I start with that - and do I really need to go to competitions?" When I explain the process, and that it will be a (few) years before he can get a one... well needless to say, I have not gotten a reply back yet. This is the normal version, yes there are other ways, and there is infact one other way to get an AK/AR. There is even a way to get fully automatic submachineguns for competitions, but that is for another storytime. //CZBeardly
