  1. I'm a tumbler too. 15-30 minutes to remove lube. I've chronoed tumbled and untumbled. If there's some difference (other than loosing the lube and shining) it's not measureable.
  2. I ran my G20 with NO Slide lock. I removed it from the gun because I would hit it occasionally, while trying to get a high grip on the gun, and it would stop the gun. I wouldn't compete without the extended mag release. I ran my G20 with NO Slide lock. 3. Scores will be posted on the Section Web-Site. When? IMHO the match was great. I don't want to give away all of the good scoop, I'm saving that for my Front Sight Article, but I do want everyone out there to know that we had 163 shooter, 13 Revolver shooters, and EVER shooter got to visit the prize table and collect a prize worth $100 or more. I personally placed 34 overall in Limited. I was just about the lowest scoring A class shooter, but it's really my fault, I my gun kept having operator malfunctions. I took home a $50 certificate from starline, a Motorola Camo Cordless Phone, a Grams Spring/Follower Kit, a Winchester T-Shirt, an a jar of Anti-Fog for my glasses. Lots of Guns were won today!!! I also saw a Dillon 650 with casefeeder on the prize table. THANK YOU!!!!! THANK YOU!!!! THANK YOU!!!! To ALL of shooter who came to the 2006 Gator Classic. Shred, Hope you get home safe. If you have any suggestion or comments I'd like you to e-mail me with them.
  4. If you are shooting a glock, an you have or intend to alter the trigger in any way, you should shoot primers that are known to be made of softer material. Most of the Glock Shooters who have lightened their triggers strongly recommend Federal small pistol primers. They claim, and I too have had the experience, that federals are easily ignited and will go boom with a less than optimal strike. Winchester ran fine in my glock about 98% of the time. While Federals made 99.9%. Hope that helps.

  6. Just got home from the range. Stages look GREAT!!!!! Saturday's Menu will include: Gumbo, Creole-Style Red Beans & Rice w/ Sausage, and all of the usual, Hamburgers, hot dogs, etc...... Looks like the RO's will shoot in Stormy Weather tomorrow but Saturday will be Cool Clear and Beautiful. Please be sure to let me know your part of the BEnos Universe when you see me.
  7. The site is up and running, but I don't think DMH has been able to update it as of yet.\ Stage Descriptions are available and the link to the Range Web site is active too. Were you looking for a certain bit of information???

  9. Thank you for posting this. I'm in awe.
  10. At Least now I know what to look forward to. THanks for the post, I needed a laugh like that.
  11. I have a shooting chrony F-1 that is the cheapest thing I could find (between $75-90) and it's as accurate as other chrongraphs I've placed it in-line with. Yes, I've actually set up two chronos and compared variations.
  12. Yes That works. Search "Glock 20" and you should find a few threads with lots of details. AggieDad is running this combo.
  13. If there was a GIANT SPOON AWARD, You'd win it. Everytime. Just Remember, You've gotta stir the gumbo before you serve it for it to be good.
  14. Hi Timamal, That's sort of a personal question. After looking over the stages again, None of the stage descriptions require you to get down on your knees. If you would choose to, or have to, go to your knees, the surface of all of the bays are grass/dirt (possibly mud) and not rocks or gravel of any type. All of that being said, if you get here and decide you'd like to use knee pads, you're welcome to borrow mine. Free of charge of course!
  15. You should have it already. If not, Check your e-mail I sent it again. I'm 100% there for Set-up and ROing. Planning on bringing my BIG Trailer to EAPS to bring props home to Thibodaux. Still Nursing a Knee and Elbow injury, but I'm hoping to have a few moments too. Ray
  16. Don't Worry Todd. I haven't shot more than 4 matches in the last 6 months, but I've been spending alot of time in meditation creating mental images of seeing the sights lift, and my eyes snapping to the next target. YEA RIGHT!!!!!
  17. Thanks Shooter Dude for joining in on the board. Any of you who sent me questions earlier, it was Shooter Dude who I would consult for correct answers. Looking forward to having everyone down for a great match. There are some very good Local Events taking place this same weekend that might be of interest to everyone. The Louisiana Gumbo Festival is taking place about 15 minutes away. There'll be information on where and what there is to do locally in your packet at registration. If you need any specific information, don't hesitate to ask. Thanks again Shooter Dude!
  18. I think the Congo Lounge is having a costume contest on the saturday night? I'll check.
  19. Ron, Good Point. I hadn't thought about the fact that most classifiers in my area tend to be "speed shoots" and not field courses. Having stengths in the skills that are seen most often in classifiers, and being classified by that skill set, may or may an accurate rating of the shooter as a whole in all skills required to complete a major match of say 12 stages. I guess that makes it even more unbalanced for those shooters from areas where there is a good balance of classifiers shot. Matt, I think the world could use more hugs, especially if HOOTERS is your major match sponsor and they supply a Stage Host at each stage.
  20. What's the opposite of a Sandbagger? I always seem to have my absolute best performances on Classifiers. Now I don't just mean against other club shooters, who may or may not be holding back. I usually shoot a 12 stage match at about 65-70%, but I'm clasified as an A-Class shooter of 77%.???? What am I a BackSander??? P.S. - Our Prize table is visited by shooters in overall order of finish, by division. Let them sandbag themselves into a later visit of the prize table.
  21. Hey Sig, Not to be judgemental here, but If she went home with some stranger for a night of fun including sex, X-treme Wierdness might be what she was looking for? Some people like freaks, and some people are I do think the joke works better with the girl giving out the teddy bears. Something about a really macho man having his manly skills called into question is always funny. Would probably work with any branch of the service (that you're not associated with), fireman, cop, etc.... Keep em comming!

  24. "Looks like some fun stages. I know things are always subject to last minute tweaks so these may not be the final stages but just FYI, some of them are a little high on the round count for a Level II." John, Our focus is giving shooters the Best Match Experience that we can possibly of produce as a team of Louisiana Shooters. Our goal is for shooters to leave our match wanting to return. One glance at our Prize table and that usually does it, but presenting a group of courses that offer a variety of shooting challenges, having an experienced high quality RO's, friendly staff, good food, great range layout, vendor displays, S&W gun to shoot on your down time, and a good time on the bayou, all make the Louisiana Gator Classic a match not to be missed. USPSA Match Level is an afterthought. We feel the quality of this match stands on its own merit. P.S. - You Production guys better come with plenty of those 10 round mags, and revolver shooters might need lots of moon clips.
