I'm new to the single stack division. In fact I haven't even shot a match yet. That being said I want to start getting more and more into uspsa and I'm going to devote at least a year to shooting nothing but single stack in uspsa. My question is, can I deepen the cocking serrations on my 1911 slide and add forward cocking serrations? Or say I wanted to have the slide milled for a bomar type adjustable rear sight instead of the factory Novak style that's on there? Or is any kind of slide modification against the rules? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thats why I never leave a gun in my car overnight or for any extended period of time. It's just not worth the risk. Sorry for your loss and I hope it gets recovered quickly. Best of luck.

I have a 9mm RO and it's been flawless so far. Even after I had the slide, barrel and bushing nickel boron coated it still functions 100%. I use the trip research mags and with the dawson no gap ice magwell I had to sand the top of the basepads to help them seat easier with a fully loaded mag.

I tried 5.0 grains of N350 with a 160 grain bayou bullet at a o.a.l. of 1.55 and I had a bunch of yellowish unburnt powder left in the cases. I was getting 1.5 - 2.5 inch groups at 15 yards standing out of a 4" 627 pro. I'll be trying a different load with bullseye powder tomorrow -

I hate to bring up an old thread but I have 4+ pounds of N350 and I was looking around at load data and I noticed that it can be used in 38 special loads using 160 grain projectiles. http://www.vihtavuori.com/en/reloading-data/handgun-reloading/-38-special-.html It looks like even at the lowest recommended charge that it gets the bullet moving way over minimum power factor. I'm thinking about trying to work up a load using N350 to see if it's would be an accurate load or if it's a waste of time. Has anyone tried this before and if so any results? good or bad? -
Matts2k that looks amazing. I love those grips. Who makes them?

My new to me CZ 75 Accu Shadow Lite. Now I know why there is a whole section just for CZ pistols. This thing is amazing.

Load data to make power factor 38 special

I have about 4 pounds of N320 left. I normally use it for my 9mm loads but if you don't mind sharing your load data I will give it a shot. -
Load data to make power factor 38 special

Bullseye is the powder I have the least of but I'll give it a shot. I loaded up about 50 rounds tonight with 4.0 grains of Win 231 with an OAL of 1.445. According to the reloading book that I have on hand it should roughly put me around a 130 power factor. I had some loads that had 3.7 grains of win 231 and I was only getting around a 102 power factor. I think I was not crimping enough. I increase my crimp and upped my powder charge and I will chrono these new loads this coming weekend. -
I'm steadily getting more and more into shooting my 4 inch 627 pro series. I have 3 choices of powder to use and they are VV N320, Bullseye and Win231. I currently have 158 grain round nose flat points from Xtreme. I am going to be switch to 160 grain RN from bayou or black bullets. So my question is, Does anyone have a good load with any of those powders to make power factor and would you mind sharing it? What powder and how many grains? What length are you seating too? I figured I would post here instead of the general reloading section because this is for a revolver. Thanks for your help.

AWESOME! Thank you! No problem. I've learned a great deal from your YouTube channel so the least I can do is let you try out the optics set up I'm running.

Scooter that looks sweet. I think I drooled a little.

I just mounted a cmore sts on my 627 using the allchin S&W low mount. I have shot it twice now and love it. I didn't have a problem with finding the dot after a few moon clips. John I shoot at the same club as you and if you would like to shoot my 627 to test out the dot and mount set up I have just send me a pm and I'm sure we could work something out.

Does anyone have this DVD? And has anyone followed the information and how did the action job turn out? I'm thinking about buying this and giving it a shot. Unless anyone is not using it anymore and wants to send it to me.
-
I just started shooting revolvers and I picked up a 627 pro series. I now see what I have been missing out on. They are a ton of fun to shoot. I now want a 625, 617 and 929.

I just started upgrading my 627 pro series. All the that's left is an action job and bobbing the hammer and maybe have it magna ported

Range officer's are a great starting point for a overall great gun. I've had mine for about a year and 4-5k rounds through it. I have the Dawson ice magwell and I kinda wish I would have went with a Smith and Alexander magwell. Only because I had to trim the base pads on my trip research 10 round mags to work. I also out the Dawson fiber optic front sight on it and the sight picture is much better. I'm planning on sending it out for a professional trigger job and get rid of all the mim parts. My grip safety moves side to side so it wasn't fit all that great and I need to change my extractor cuz without a mag in if I rack it the round from the chamber falls out the bottom.
-
The gun has less then 4k as of right now. I want to get rid of the mim parts all together. I plan on keeping and shooting this gun for a long time. I like the thought of ambi safeties but that is still up in the air. I have been looking at the C&S kits and have read great things about them. I like the idea if a hardened sear though. He is what I an thinking parts wise. Sv trigger bow with the replaceable inserts, EGW TI hammer strut, disconnecter, hardened sear, TI mainspring cap and lightweight hammer, a 17 pound main spring and a new sear spring and possibly ambi safeties but definitely a new safety non the less. After I get all the parts together I just want to have a good gunsmith make the trigger pull phenomenal with a clean crisp break. I think keeping the trigger around 3 pounds would be best.
-
I was thinking about getting a egw hardened sear and a disconnecter and the sv trigger with the inserts. I already replaced the msh with a Dawson ice mag well and msh combo. But I used the stock parts from the ils from the original msh. I want to get a 17 pound main spring. I can polish all the contact points myself but I am just worried about changing the geometry of the sear to hammer contact. I would rather a gun smith do that. I live in Massachusetts and Greg Derr is somewhat local as in the same state.

I have a S.A. 9mm range officer and I want to have a trigger job done on it. I would like to drop the trigger weight to about 2 pounds. What gunsmith would you recommend?
