Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. @MarkCO, I will list in the video that the targets are perfectly overlapping. I was trying to replicate a few hits from the back of the USPSA rule book (pg 103, hit #5 = A, and hit #3 = C, NS) @Sarge After the revisions, I will see how long the video is and see if it makes sense to split it up. Since the video is for beginners, I think the most complicated part is the no shoot examples. I might cut all that out and simply say " Don't hit the No Shoots!",
  2. Wow, thanks for the input. I am working on a revision to correct my "oversights". Any additional info would be appreciated. When completed I will upload the newer version and change the link. 1. Targets are called "metric" and "classic". Done and Done 2. Scored hits can be anywhere from 1 to 6 depending on the stage WSB. Changing video to "Number of hits to score is listed in the stage brief. Usually the two highest zones." 3. In open, 9mm caliber bullets can be scored major. Changing video to "For factory ammunition, < 9mm is minor, >.40 cal is major" 4. At 6:33, that target should be scored "2 As, No-shoot". The non-scoring border does not prevent the hit that crosses the A/C zone on the scoring target. I did my best to line up the perforations. Score should be A, C, NS.
  3. New to USPSA and don't know what people are yelling at the end of a stage? Well, don't be confused anymore. Scoring a target is very easy if you follow a few basic rules. Having a better understanding of the rules will make your day at the range more fun. Updated video Feb 16, 2015: Video is under review....
  4. Upgraded from Lee Progressive 1000 to a Dillon 1050. It's like driving a Smart car and upgrading to a Corvette
  5. Dillon 1050, accept no substitute https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8c5H7I_gcE
  6. I've always wondered what would happen if you place your hand on the back of the slide and fire a round. What about a thumb on the back of the slide! Answers range from damaging your pistol to injuring your hand. Well, wonder no more. Bet your friends and make some money. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BtqjugGXiSY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YuKPNgy-MNY
  7. purchase a holster for the Glock 20/21. It is a little wider and my WE G17 airsoft gun fits. You can also take you airsoft pistol to a store or gun show and see what will work.
  8. Yes, this is how I shoot. I was using reloads, 124 gn FMJ and 4.7 gn WSF powder.
  9. My Glock 34 was shooting very high with the stock sights. I thought purchasing new sights using the recommended height of .245 would straighten me out but that didn't fix my problem. I had to go taller with .275. I believe it depends on how you shoot. Here's a video of my experience.
  10. I wanted to share my journey looking for my sights. There are a lot of big choices and at $40 USD a pop, hopefully the information here will help someone pick the right sight for their pistol.
  11. I ran into this dilemma when looking for sights for my Glock 34. I ended up with a Dawson front and Sevigny Comp rear sight. Here's a small review of how I got there.
  12. I purchased a Sevigny fiber optic with Sevigny comp rear but I needed a taller front sight. Switched to Dawson .275 tall and point of aim = point of impact. Here's my review, includes sight picture and shot groups.
  13. +1 for propane if you shoot in a well ventilated area. If you plan to shoot a lot, 2,000-3,000 BBs per month, it makes economic sense to go propane. $10 per 8oz can green gas vs $5 per 16 oz bottle of propane.
  14. If you are a serious shooter and would like to improve your marksman skills, airsoft is a great training tool. Here's how I airsoft.

    WE G17?

I using WE G17 from airsplat. It is one of the cheaper Glock replicas at 100 USD. Magazines will run you about $20 per mag. I'm using .20 g BBs and propane to keep cost down. After about 7,500 shots, the hammer spring broke (Part G-22). Cost is about $3-4 plus shipping from evike and there are videos online to help you with the work. As stated in the last post, the 9mm Blackhawk Serpa holster will not work with this pistol (holster is too narrow). You need to purchase the .45 cal holster for a perfect fit. Here's my G17 in action.
