  1. Those are all good suggestions my preference on beginner pistol is the M&P 5" pro series.
  2. I run a 12 round tube on my VM with at 22" barrel and it has never been an Issue.
  3. Just an update I talked with Ruston at Boomfab today and he said they had a batch of carriers that were milled with out of spec cam pin slots and that is likely the issue. I will be shipping this one back and they will be replacing it for me. Great customer service on there end. They didn't even give me the run around of did you try this... did you try this... I am looking forward to getting the replacement and getting it tuned.
  4. Here is the video of turning the gas back to 3 turns fro. Closed and putting in the seekins low mass bcg and empty Rifle buffer. Seekins low mass carrier:
  5. Keep your hand on the handguard if loading strong hand quad or load two or leave it on the crock if loading weakhand . You're wasting time moving your hands.
  6. This might get lengthy my apologies. I bought a boomfab titane full bcg about a month ago to put in my rifle that had a seekins low mass carrier previuosly. I had a local match on memorial day and had nothing but trouble for the one stage I tried to use it on. I had tried to tune the carrier earlier that week but could not get reliable Bolt lock. I got to where it would lock back about 50% of the time and had no issues with cycling. Then at the match I was having issues where it wasn't chambering a round and I had two double feeds, 2 live rounds going into the chamber at the same time. This was out of 2 different magazines as well. So I hung up the rifle and borrowed my buddies for the rest of the match. This was with 4 full turns of gas on a seekins gas block and a jp Lmos rifle buffer and JP polished spring. Which takes me to today. I thought maybe I was getting bolt bounce and cycling too fast so I tried several different configurations and got no reliable reults. I tried an empty rifle buffer, an empty carbine buffer and polymer spacer, spikes tactical t2 buffer and polymer spacer, jp silent captured spring and jp rifle buffer as well as 2 other rifles. All configurations ended up short stroking no matter how much gas I gave it. And the conclusion I have come to is that either the carrier is too tight or too losses and gets canted slightly in the receiver and retards the carrier and it won't cycle. I can feel this when I pull the charging handle sometimes it is easy and sometimes it is almost impossible especially when I have to reset the trigger. I videoed all the attempts in slow motion and they are on my youtube channel. There are 19 videos, and I don't feel like embedding all of them. My seekins runs flawless at 3 turns of gas as you will see in the videos so there is clearly something off with the carrier. I will be contacting boomfab on Monday to see what they say but does anyone have any ideas here. Any help is greatly appreciated.
  7. One thing I did was took one half turn off of the magazine catch. Push the magazine release button in with the tip of a bullet or something that allows it to go beyond flush and loosen the catch one half turn.
  8. I also think grip tape / talon grips are the way to go especially if this is your first grip modification. You can experiment with different patterns and it isn't permanent. I just bought some stair tread safety tape. I put masking tape on the grip and colored with a crayon to show me the contour of the grip and cut out the masking tape and stick it to the back of the grip tape to create a stencil them just cut out the grip tape and place it on the pistol. You way need to create some relief cuts so it van follow the contours of the gun.
  9. If on a budget go with the m3000 it is far superior than the moss berg in reliability and fit and finish and the m3000 is no beauty queen.
  10. I do run Ti firing pins. Less mass and less chance of a slam fire can't be bad things. Plus the gold ones look cooler. I probably clean my rifles every 500 rounds. I pull the BCG and relube every day of a big match or every time I go practice or shoot a club match. Mobile 1 is cheap so I use it frequently. Do you run anything other than a standard cam pin?
  11. I had to pay for mine. I haven't shot it yet but I was debating the standard jp Lmos and this and I figured WTH go big or go home.

Thanks Jesse are you still running the how Lmos buffer and polished spring.Yes. I plan to reevaluate the JP captured spring this year too. Thanks Jesse

  14. For me if I line up my irons ( the top of the rear is just high enough to level the front sight in the notch not a true cosiness sight picture) then the dot of my FF3 with 3 most dot sits just above my front sight(pic 1). But if I don't worry about the irons and just put the dot in the center of the glass it is an 1/8 of an inch above the front sight and I can see the whole front sight post. (Pic 2) This is on a ported core 9L
  15. Jesse & Chris, do you run a Ti firing pin as well. I am picking up a boomfab and want to make sure I get it set up properly. I shoot reloads and only reloads. I use cci 400 small rifle primers and with my current seekins low mass carrier I am getting small dents on primers after clearing the chamber of a live round. I haven't had a slam fire to date and would like to keep it that way. The carrier is a full carrier from boomfab and I am not sure what they use for their firing pin as it does not specify on their website. So should I use a Ti firing pin or switch to harder primers or both? I am also curious on the maintenance side of things what lube most people are running on their titane's and how often you are cleaning them. I currently clean about every 500-1000 rounds and lube with grease or mobil1 depending on the time of year. I was contimplating switching to lucas oil.
  16. If it were a regular vinci that is probably the route I would go but since it is a super vinci I would go VM I shoot a Vm competition tactical, and I really like it.
  17. Do you have a link or picture of your carrier by chance ?
  18. Yes extension just screws on the one piece 8 round tube but first you do have to remove the retainer. I do it by prying on alternating sides until I van get a pair of pliers on it to squeeze it and remove it the eest of the way. Be careful and wear your safety glasses there is alot of spring pressure under there.
  19. Jerry miculek runs a 17 round tube on his 930 and he dumps his more aggressively than I ever will. I will practice with it first just need to know whether I can get a spring cut long enough or if I need put a follower in between 2 springs.
  20. I am entertaining the idea of running open on occasion at some local matches. I would be running a 16 round tube and want to know what the solution for the magazine spring is.
  21. That is the malfunction I had prior to pulling out the inner spring behind the shell latch. Try taking it out and I think it will solve your issue. If not it take 2 minutes to put it back in.
  22. My cousin started with the 1301 amd prefers the way it shoots to the m2 for him. However the way the reciever is designed made it difficult for him to quad load even after extensive port modification. So he picked up a 26" m2 he prefers loading the m2. With the shotgun loading it is probably more important than shooting. He shaved at least a second off his loads by switching to quads. If you can quad load the 1301 you may not see the benefit he did.
  23. I polished mine and it looks pretty good. Not sure if it is stainless but it hasn't rusted or anything yet.
