  1. Brian what would you see when shooting the pepper poppers at the shoot offs when at the B. Cup? thanks
  2. Brian, I saw something this weekend that got me thinking. I remember shooting a pepper popper at a match not too long ago. Right as I opened a door and I missed. 15 yds or less. Why I thought as I drove home. This weekend at my range they had poppers setup. I would focus on the pp. then bring my focus to the front sight. Then I placed a shot on the pp focusing on the pp then focued on the front sight. The shot with the focus on the sight was more precise. But to shoot five or six pp's in a row you cant look for the pp and focus on the front sight and shoot them fast. But I would look at the pp and be very aware of the sight aliment. I could mow them down. I came away thinging that what held me back was the light between the front sight and the rear blade. Thats what held me back in my subconscience. The pp at the match I didnt keep aware of the sight aliment I was just looking at the plate. On target of 15 yds or less you can get away with sort of focus but any tight shots or longer shots you have to look at the front sight. I knows there no wrong or right but what do you think? thanks aware
  3. Brian, after reading your post again it got me thinking about not laying back and letting faith takes it course but activily stepping up to the challenge and making it happen. Think abaout what I need to do. See it in my mind. Be strong mentally. I read this again only because I just got back from a match and on the way home I was thinking of how I failed in somethings and was strong in others.
  4. Sinner! What happen to visual acceptence? Lets see what father Brian, will say.
  5. So brian, did Robbie, go to the Steel Challenge, with the Laser 6" gun 45
  6. TravisT, if the engagement is not equal then what? I like being a "trigger queen" thanks
  7. TravisT, when you install (drop in) a hammer and sear in a gun how can you be assured that there is equal contact with the hammer hooks onto the sear? Isn't better to make sure and to correct the problem if need be? And how would you do this? And wouldn't all this make someone a "trigger queen"? (Edited by dave pasos at 10:41 am on Aug. 13, 2001)
  8. Brian, is Robbie, going to shoot the 230 bullets at the 175 PF for the STeel Challenge? If he shoots a reduce load would he use the 6" guns? thanks
  9. Brian, when Robbie, is setting his guns so that they feel right does he send them back to Springfield or does a local favorite gunsmith do the job? thanks
  10. Brian, does Robbie shot everyday? Now I guess he is practicing for the Steel Challenge but during other IPSC match does he practice IPSC shooting? Does he have shooting classes or does he do sponsorship kind of stuff? thanks
  11. Quote: from kellyn on 10:05 pm on Aug. 7, 2001 I have shot the fabled rob leatham six inch .45 trophy match. Kellyn, do you know what bullet weight Robbie, was using? thanks
  12. But what about the 6" long slide Robbie, was using? Was the slide trim for weight? There have been topic's posted about 6" limited gun before and not many people thought that they would fly! Now Robbie used one. Will there be more interest in 6" guns. After seeing the 6" hi-cap built by Benny Hill, I thought a 6" in a single stack might be good way to go. What do you guys think? thanks
  13. That should be interesting. I bet it in 243! I'll be waiting. thanks
  14. Does anyone own one and what set-ups do you have. I was thinking of getting one. thanks
  15. Which are they? "babes in bikini's with sub-machine guns?"
  16. Brian, who makes the 'frame saver' that you use? Also what shock buffs do you use? thanks
  17. Quote: from Detlef on 4:36 am on June 25, 2001 I use a 10 lb, Todd uses a 9 lb. You're fine assuming all works. Reliability is the issue. --Detlef Detlef, was Todd useing shock buff with a 9lb spring? That seems awfully light! thanks
  18. Thanks for the ideas! When I looked at the forum and saw someone answer I got alittle excited!!! No, not all steel matches are the same. Some are like what you mentioned but alot are like IPSC only with steel. So I high cap. pistol would be nice to have. From what Ive seen a mod. 17 with a ported 6" barrel, trigger work, optic but monted low and some 17 rd mags maybe one 27 rd mag would be a good set-up. And not too expensive also. What do you think?
  19. What are some thoughts on the set-up for a Glock for steel matches? Same idea as a 1911 steel race gun but only in a glock. thanks

  21. Brian, I paged through his book while at the bookstore. I didnt see any mention on sight pictures. I did see trigger control and controling your emotions. Its amazing what he did with what he had to work with! I am sure you read his book what did you think of what he had to say? I only paged throhg it and read it. I am sure he has some interesting thing to say. What did he find that we living with all the modern marvels today cant find ourselves?

The material is down the page a bit, under the title "Trigger Technique 101: A 20 Page Guide to Glock Trigger Control". Knowledge is power. There is no mention to "follow through"
