  1. Not sure how to start this but I often looked for Hispanic shooters when I go to matches. I would like to see more Hispanics in a competive firearm sport. I know ecomics and lifestyleshave alot to do with this. USPSA, has done alot to increase membership they have had to address the equip. race which they done a great job of doing so. But what about trying to reach a group of shooters who will never be taken seriously because of sterotyping. I really see it diffucult for USPSA to increase it membership in the coming years. Regard of a shooters race, responible individuals need to be associated with this sport. Unfortunately I myself know all to well this may never happen.
  2. Warpspeed, how would a LW Alloy frame commander in 38 sup or 9mm work for a steel gun? Two port comp. Would mounting a scope to the dust cover be a problem? Or could it be mount closer to the slide stop? thanks
  3. warpspeed, would it make a difference in using a super slide with a 9mm? thanks
  4. thanks orng45, does anyone know of the breechface differences between 9mm and super? thanks
  5. how does the aluminum comp hold up? I was thinking of something like that. I was thinking of 9mm. thanks
  6. Now that were getting close to the Steel Challenge I was wondering what are some of the setups being used by the readers of this forum. I just wanted to get idea so that help me in deciding what route to go in building one. thanks
  7. Sun, shooting and French women, topless and in thong bikinis on the beach. I wish I could go!
  8. Brian, I was think about when you shot the Challenge in the late eighties. Why you and Rob didnt use guns that were made for that match. I know you used bushing guns with comps but I mean when other shooters were using short slides and other things you and Rob still use a gun that was the same as your IPSC gun. Why? Was it because you guys believed its in the shooter and not the equipment? thanks (Edited by dave pasos at 8:09 am on April 11, 2002)
  9. We've talked about lighter bullets in a 45 for major but has anyone tried the lighter bullet (155,165) for shooting steel (steel challenge) Any thought? thanks
  10. what size diamond recitle is the one that fits the A-zone on the head of the USPSA target? Is it the 15 min or the 20 min size? thanks
  11. What is the status of the Major 9 issue? Will it be soon or will we have to wait a few more years?
  12. sorry guys this post should have been in the "what I hate" section. Moderator could you please puts this in the "what I hate" section? thanks (Edited by dave pasos at 4:32 pm on April 3, 2002)
  13. I just finishing viewing the site for RRA and SV. Its just amazing some of the stuff SV is coming out with. But its frustrating living in California, where you cant buy the frames or guns that not the LIST!
  14. davecutts, if you can I would go for the 1050 using the 3 payment plan that Dillon offers. I wont say more but you really wont be sorry.
  15. Ron, life is simplier shooting the 45. I think. It just easier with powders, bullets, accuracy, reliablity and mags. No its not the ultimate for steel but you can get buy with it. My only regret is the brass. I pay more about 45 dollars for thousand OFB. But if I stay focused, practice and not get caught up in the equipment race I do well with it at matches. Keep it simply. Thats my motto.
  16. If your going to shoot steel and some IPSC, in a Limited gun then I would say teh 40 is a good way to go. But the 45. in capable hands and with the right load can would not be a handicap on steel.
  17. Well spoken EricW!! But interview other top shooters other than BE and Rob! Theres others that worked hard at this sport too! New faces and new shooters! thanks
  18. Do you have any photos of his gun you could post? thanks
  19. I saw your story in AH aabout the "guns of the pros" great job. I wish there would have been a photo of Barnharts gun. The photo of Todds gun (the one with a blue C-more) what is the object on top of the slide near the rear of the ejection port? Its hard to make the out? Also what gun did you like from all the ones you saw? thanks
  20. So, if you were looking for a steel load. Clays might be a good choice or a faster burning powder?
  21. Pat, thanks. Let me see if I get this. Super wouldn't use slow powders because of it would fill the case and no room for the bullets. Fast powder would leave too much empty space in large volume cases. But then why shooters use a Clays over a slightly less faster powder such as Unv. Clays? Can you feel the change in impulse?
