  1. Twix or any others with experience, is she going to pass the IDPA light in the belt tunnel ruling? Could you where it for IDPA or does it sit off too far from the body?

    Glock DVDs

Precision 40, this is THEE book on Glocks right now: Books Complete Glock Reference Guide "PTOOMA Productions LLC of Spokane Washington has assembled a group of the finest Glock certified advanced Armorers, former high-ranking Glock Employees, and leaders of the Glock parts and accessories industry to produce "The Complete Glock Reference Guide". Subjects include extensive coverage of Glock history, assembly/disassembly, maintenance, customization, parts interchangeability, and everything else you ever wanted or needed to know about your Glock handgun." It's available from Lone Wolf and other's for around $30. Here's a link to consider: http://www.lonewolfdist.com/products.asp?prod=13
  3. Glock 2234, on the ladies rules, I think that they dropped the hour glass figure statement from the new rules. I always wondered who had enough balls to tell a woman with a gun that she had to wear her holster like a man because she didn't have an hour glass figure in the first place. Talk about living dangerously.
  4. giova22, Like 300 lb Gorilla said, there are two sets of rules. IPSC rules are the international ones and for the states we go by the USPSC rules under the IPSC organization. Check out the rules at this link: http://www.ipsc.org/pdf/RulesHandgun.pdf

    FTN

GRD and I are going to give people that shoot all 0's a FTN since they didn't shoot at least one -1. Sorry, Gabe but the previous conversation about this still has me laughing. I'm kidding, I'm kidding don't get bent out of shape - you have to smile about the new rule book or you will tear your hair out.
  6. 300lbgorilla, thanks for the help. actiongear.com has the best photos of this bag since it shows it from both sides and you can enlarge the photo. Better photos than the ones on the 5.11 site. No one else is shooting with one of these? Maybe it is too new?
  7. CALM BLUE OCEAN, CALM BLUE OCEAN, CALM BLUE OCEAN I spoke to Comp-Tac yesterday and even though his speed holster should meet the new rules, they think it is best to get through a couple of State level shoots before they says "buy this one and it will be in compliance". No one knows what the hell is going on yet and one club to the next - I'm gonna melt down.
  8. I have been looking for a range bag. I see the wonderful $140 bags that are popular and have no doubt that they are quality products. I am looking for a less expensive option and found this bag by 5.11 Tactical. Has anyone tried this one? Your opinions are welcome and thanks in advance. I did do a search and found many postings on other bags, but found no info on this one bag: Does anyone have this bag and can they compare it to other high end shooters bags? Considering this as a range bag. Versus $140 for some other popular bags, it seems like a good deal, but want to make sure. Check out the link: http://www.511tactical.com/Products.../RangeReady.asp
  9. Chuck, thanks for the heads up and the good info. I found the one that I needed for my G34 for $40. I thought it was too good to be true. Glock2234, thanks for the direction. The 34 was the most shot single weapons at the nationals and the comp-tac locking paddle was the most used holster. They outlawed the number one holster. All of the many people shooting G34s have to have some more ideas. I almost thought about the Wilson practical. If it was the best holster made I would wear it if you paid me. I had a perfectly good holster - I have to let this go one of these days. For the rest of this thread I won't mention anything at all negative. It helps me stay in line if I type it out. So there are a ton of you G34 shooters who use to shoot Comp-Tac, what are you going to shoot now?
  10. I called Safariland today to ask about a holster for my G34. They gave me a man named Tom who recomended the 5182 paddle over the belt model and said that it had more support for the gun. He said that Latham was shooting this holsters. I see the Brian Enos' safariland sales page has this info: Safariland designed the Model 5183 Holster with the IDPA shooter in mind. It's lightweight and compact, and it's excellent price make it a favorite for IDPA competition, (and it's currently legal). As with the Model 560, you have your choice between the Model 5182 Paddle Holster (currently not legal for IDPA), pictured, or the Model 5183 Belt-loop style holster. So is the 5182 legal or isn't it as far as the light in the belt loop goes with a Wilderness Comp Instructors belt? Any better ideas for my G34? Last year the number one holster at the nationals was the Comp-Tac locking paddle. Oh, by the way - it's illegal this year. Take the most popular holster at the nationals and make it illegal. I won't go off again. I'll stop here. Just tell me what to spend my money on this year. Thanks guys
  11. What a inspiring account of what happened at your club Gabe. Almost gives a gun guy shivers. I read your writting and at every turn identify with: "I have that same person" at my club. Funny saying this, but it makes you feel like you are not the first one to go through this stuff. Obviously we are not, but it just feels like it. I'm on a mission and I see that I need to gather the supporters while educating the BoD. Thanks for the help everyone.
  12. New G34 in Mid Dec. 1350 rounds through her so far . Love the extended grip, but I am a newbie. The extended one is tough enough for me to manipulate wouldn't want the stock one in my case. Maybe I'll start to hit it later but for now with relatively small hands I'm happy with the extended version.
  13. Radian Pro Amp. I bought mine for $50/e bought 3. One for me, one for my wife and one for my father. I've seen them sell for over $100. Saw some big name shooters wearing them too. Really like mine. Note they are either 23 or 24, but I still double plug. Here's a link: http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/ctd/product...TTF58444UR3CXUD

    Glock DVDs

I'm not on the Bill Wilson band wagon these days after the holster rule changes, but L.M. had Bill on a couple of tapes. Some of them might be worth watching but the two that I own, let me just say that I am glad that I bought them off of Ebay and didn't pay close to full price.
  15. I came around the corner when he was compaining about me and the sport. Yesterday he seemed almost intersted and I thought he was really going to a match with me. He must have already had that conversation with the president since when I asked about him going to the shoot the president said to me, "don't hold your breath". I call this true bigotry and bias. BSeevers, your statement: "Some of the most Anti-gun people I have met in my life are "Gun" people." You would think we would stand together against the real gun enemy and it's not the other shooters. I'm shocked and dissappointed, but when I take some time to think about it - there really are all kinds of people I think that I like the get involved and run for office approach. It might take a while, but these old boys can't play forever.
  16. Went to the club today to do more work hours and it was the annual renewal. I came around the corner and the blackpowder shooter that I was talking to yesterday was bending the club president's ear about how terrible the IDPA shooter's are. It's really an uphill battle but since most of the members came through the club house today- well over 400, I was able to bend a lot of ears today. There are a couple of bullseye shooters that are up for it and more than a handfull of high power rifle shooters. Just trying to consolidate the pro IDPA power base. Still have a ton of work to do. Thank goodness that I have a different club to shoot almost every weekend. It does drive me crazy that I can't practice at my own home base club. Thought about joining another club but that would make the third club for me and work hours have to done for each of the three clubs. I decided to pass on club number three.
  17. Shred, I'll try to contact the cowboy "action" shooters and see what I can stir up. I have clubs in the local area when I can shoot either IDPA or USPSA every weekend starting this month. But it drives me nuts that I can't even practice at my home club. They don't want any rapid fire shooting either. The club president said no uncontrolled fire and he can tell if it's controlled or not by the speed of the shooting I told him that he can check my targets for rounds hit. I happen to control shots faster than some If I miss a target does that mean that I it's not controlled? Please boot out everyone at the club that misses their target and she how far that goes. I'm up for the challenge, just trying to gather some good info before I get in the discussion without doing my homework.
  18. Up hill battle is a good description. It is a good club, with lots of bias. No man targets are allowed at the club. One retired police officer thinks that he is saving the world by not letting us shoot cardboard silhouettes. Yes, it is frustrating, but he isn't the only one on the board that feels this way. I found an a friend in the high power shooters that shoot over the course style rilfe shooting. Just have to gather those with positive views and that along with some education and work toward the best. Ted and others thanks for some direction in the right path to follow.
  19. Southern Wisconsin, the club is the Beloit Rifle club. Thanks
  20. One of the gun clubs that I belong to is a very nice facility. State shoots have been held here. There is cowboy action shooting, black powder, trap, Rimfire silhouette, benchrest, over the course service rifle and archery. I was putting some work hours for the club today and I was wearing my IDPA hat. The guy that I was working with asked me if I shot pistols at all? I said yes. He asked should we have IDPA style shooting at this club and I said most definately. Then he went on a huge tirade about how it wasn't safe. Yes, I could just blow him off as someone that has his head up a certain orfice, but I tried to engage in civil conversation. He brought up the youngster that was killed at a tournament. We had different opinions of the actual events. Can someone post a link with some accurate information on what really happened and not the I heard from someone who heard from someone who heard from their brother in law. He specifically didn't like running with the gun. He said that we practice killing people and that the IDPA promotes this practice as having fun. I said that we practice saving lives. Since to join this club you have to be an NRA member, I asked if he believe in the right of self defense. He agreed. I said that you think that it is OK to defend yourself, but God forbid that you actually practice what you believe in. I also stated that IDPA does try to come up with realistic senarios, but it is still a game. What I would like from my fellow shooters here is some info that I can present to the board of directors that will put IDPA style shooting in a good light not only on the safety front but to answer his question about practicing to kill people. Your help is much appreciated. I will contact IDPA HQ with a similar request. Rick Ingle By the way he has never been to a shoot, I invited him to a small shoot with me next weekend. He is considering it. We just bought another 40 acres for the club and there is a 3 sided gravel pit on the property that would be great for IDPA stages. Perfectly safe environment.
  21. Rufus, if for no other reason than I wrote 3 letters to HQ while they were taking feedback. I still feel like I did then. It's America and I can and will express my views. Mark Miller started the petition, I just absolutely agree with it. That is why I signed it. You very well may be right but just rolling over and pretending that they didn't step on many of us shooters would be worse. The thing that also gets to me is that the goal of the sport was to shoot what you really carry. Many who carry with a particular holster now can't use it to compete. I could go on and on about this issue and I have. I just won't waste everyone's time this evening with the arguements. The point is if you believe in the petition sign it. If you don't - it's American, no one is going to make you. The choice is yours. If you are one of the people that felt like HQ was ignoring your voice this is another way to be heard. Now, who is going to stand up with me and others and speak the truth?
  22. Thanks guys, it might be too little too late, but they should know that it still doesn't set well with many of us. Rick
  23. I know that I said that I would move forward since the rules are now finalized. I said that it is time to focus on shooting and not the politics. Then I received this in my email today and I signed it as signature number 6 of the petition. Whether changes get made or not it is still important to register my oppinion on the subject. I think that there are many here that feel the same way. This was the enclosed email: "FYI Rick Greeting Pistoleros! As many of you know IDPA HQ has released the Final revision of the 2005 rulebook. While the new rule book has provided much needed clarification for many of the rules, there has been great debate over some of the new rule change wording. HQ has responded by making revisions and corrections and has now claimed the rules Final. Wisconsin IDPA feels there are still some minor wording changes required to clarify the rules and ensure the consistency of rules enforcement. The major concern has to do with Equipment rules. The current wording is too subjective. It now possible for you to participate in one match and be considered Legal, and yet go to another match with the same equipment and be DQ’ed. HQ has proposed that rather than clarifying the wording, we use common sense in enforcing the rules. Unfortunately every club is likely to have a slightly different view on the “Spirit of the Game” when it comes to rule enforcement. What we are asking for are a couple of minor wording changes that would clarify the equipment rules and ensure more consistency nation wide. To view our proposals go to http://www.PetitionOnline.com/WISIDPA/petition.html and read our petition to Bill Wilson. If you agree please sign the Petition. To Comment on the petition or propose any other rules wording concerns visit the Wisconsin IDPA forms and post your ideas at www.wisconsinidpa.com. Mark Miller Ripon IDPA" I know that it says Wisconsin guys, but we are all in this together. Rick Ingle

    Glock DVDs

I agree, the Lenny McGill DVDs are sensationalized with less meat in them than Matt Burkett's DVDs.
