  1. I think I put the screw in too tight and broke it when I cleaned it earlier that day. The thread was snapped off flush with the frame below the side cover. Luckily it was easy to remove and the club had a spare.
  2. Thanks for the help guys. 2nd place limited over the weekend at our regionals. My cylinder fell out in a club IPSC match thursday night so I borrowed an unbroken screw from a club gun and shot Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Lucky it didn't happen during the icore match.
  3. A friend of mine has run out of locking blocks here on the other side of the world. He owns a very expensive paperweight.
  4. Did you mean 38 super or 38 short colt? Currently using a 38 sizing die and 9mm everything else. I've got my trigger much better to match the federals now and won my IPSC club match last night
  5. Use the rubber band. The pinning is likely done with the mainspring housing. The grip safety would tuck behind it or a pin somehow depending on how its done. It should slide right out in any case.
  6. I checked my moons beforehand, they all dropped in and the cylinder moved freely. I'm just a hack.
  7. Thanks guys. I'd say 95% of revolver shooters here shoot PPC style matches with 38 special so accuracy is important. I got my gun 2 weeks ago and have been busy almost every day loading and hitting the range with the chrono. First loads with .357 160's did not group at all and were under PF. Finally got them to 122 PF but was not entirely happy with the grouping and ran out. The shop didn't have any more in stock so I bought some .357 145 grain round nose. As I increased the PF the groups started to improve. I'm settled on 4.2gn of WSF and the 145 for 130 pf. Accuracy is good enough but not awesome. I will special order some 358s and try again after the regionals. I do find my extreme spread can be huge. Is this a revolver thing? I put a spring kit in it and carmonised the hammer but I've tuned it to work with S&B primers which is a bit heavy. A friend swapped me some federals over the weekend so I will will wind out the strain screw a bit and try to improve it. ICORE regionals is the weekend after next so I shot a local level 3 IPSC match for some practise. It is going to take some work to get accurate and learn to reload. I had a few misses on the longer shots and some of my reloads were terrible but I had fun.
  8. Mine works everytime. Set it up and shoot. I dont use the app. I guess i forgot it was an option. Way less frustrating than other ones I've used. I bought it after cracking the s#!ts with my CED.
  9. Cheaper to buy a new gun than oil it so often.
  10. They reckon a mate of mine doesn't oil his enough. Busted 4 locking blocks so far. It's a hard pass from me.
  11. I didnt need any primer gadgets on my 1050. Is your shellplate tight enough? I use an egw undersized sizing die and the rest are dillon. I stopped case gauging years ago and barrel drop before nationals just in case.
  12. Thanks guys. Turns out they won't ship to me anyway. I don't think using a 3rd party exporter will allow them to get here in time. I can get the blued .25 ones locally so will go that route. I'll see if i can get a bmt tool as well.
  13. Hi All, Regarding details on their website. https://tkcustom.com/pages/faq-s There is a table showing fitment by 0-5. The section for starline brass says: Starline 357 magnum. (Not new brass. ) What does not new brass mean? Will these work ok on the 38 short colt brass I just spent a fortune on? Regionals in 4 weeks and I'll need them shipped to Australia. No Pressure. Thanks, Dan
  14. This was my understanding too. I was surprised to see the local bullet guy not stocking 358's.
  15. Damn nice group. I shoot 160 grain coated lead in mine.
  16. Thanks guys. Is it normal to run 358's in a 357 magnum? My local bullet guy only lists 356's and 357's. There are heaps of revolver shooters around here but shooting things like PPC.
  17. Nah it doesn't last as long. Maybe 4 or 5 firings before the neck goes. I've got that much brass I'm not really sure how many shots I get out of it.
  18. Gotta take out the depriming pin or it will try to reform the mouth. I forgot and ran a bunch through my autodriven 1050 once. It wrecked all the cases. 40 cal brass is all I've used. I've had to have shot 80k of them by now. Maybe more. We can't use 40 for major where I live so we use 357 sig in standard division for major. The police use 40 so brass is cheap.
  19. The dillon 357 sig die is carbide anyway so need for lube for those guys. COAL variation like that is nothing to worry about. I load using 40 cal cases and get the odd 357 sig case in there and its fine. Make sure your shoulder is bumped enough to fit your chamber. Check it every few hundred cases in case something changes. I always have my barrel handy and drop one in now and then. Once it moved and I loaded a few hundred rounds which was annoying. Test crimp by pushing the round into a table or something to make sure it doesnt get shorter with a reasonable amount of force.
  20. Thanks guys, great help. I don't think i can get any other powder unfortunately. Things are bad here. Our weather doesn't change that much but ill keep an eye on the chrono.
  21. Hey guys, I have entered into our regionals and joined icore. I have ordered a 627 and some starline short colt brass. Any tips for short colt loads with autocomp, WSF or WST? I have 40 days until the match and haven't shot a revolver in years. I likely won't get my gun for 2 weeks so cutting it fine. I found a north mountain moonclip holder in another state which is what I used to have and have a DAA insert.
  22. Thanks for that. Very helpful! I had a 38 super 627 about 5 years ago and am looking at getting another revolver to shoot icore regionals because they are local and to do something different. In Australia. I don't have federal primers anymore though and probably won't be able to get any. I only have winchester and S&B. I want to shoot limited or open but the guns are thin on the ground at the moment. Plenty of 686's around though.
  23. Excuse my ignorance. What is the preferred setup here and why?
  24. Similar to mine. I wet tumble clean. 1st pass I size and deprime. Swage it in station 2. Trim in 3, M die to open the neck in 5. Wet tumble the lube off. 2nd pass I use a universal decapper to make sure the case is empty in 1. Prime in 2, powder in 3, seat a bullet in 4, very slight crimp in 5 to knock any burrs off.
