    Sp-01 Loads?

Thanks Doug. The 147g load with 3.3 Tite came through this gun at a pretty consistant 132 PF. I found that it took a little more than what other people use, when I had some of my old Zero's around. The 124g load is an old load from my HK that made a 134PF roughly and is almost the same in my CZ using plated. Both give me enough cushion for the chrono. But like you stated, I will be loading up other test loads with some different powders to be checking accuracy and PF when my Zero's show up. I usually don't load up more than what I plan on shooting in a week anyway (sometimes I do if I get real bored). Not to mention when the temps start changing, I always recheck my load development for accuracy and PF. I haven't found any of the powders I currently use to be temp sensitive, but you never know.

    Sp-01 Loads?

Thanks for the info guys. Went to a match Saturday and did as Doug had done in the past. Shot two different divisions and used 2 different loads. Used a 124g RN over 4.2g of Tite at 1.165" OAL and also used a 147g RN over 3.3g of Tite at 1.150" OAL. I liked how the gun felt with the 147's better. Didn't notice much difference in times and scores though. Sights tracked better with the 147 loads. Did notice a big difference in the way the gun sounded. I shot plated this weekend as it was stuff I had laying around. I ordered 12k of Zero's and will play with 310 again when they come. 310 is just to much for plated bullets and I have never been able to get any accuracy out of it. Now with Zero's that I've played with in the past, 310 worked great. I'm going to also play around with some Clay's and Tite. Match went well, won both my divisions that I shot in, and also ended up HOA for the match. It was a good weekend with my new gun. Picked it up on Thursday and put it through it pace on Saturday Hope everybody had a Merry Christmas, and will have a safe New Year. Thanks again guys.
  3. Done a search, but nothing conclusive for what I'm looking for. To those that have been loading for their SP's or similars, what are you using for powder and OAL? Anyone been using plated? Still have some left over from my old gun, but then will probably make the switch to Zero. In this gun, do you notice much difference between the 124's-125's and the 147's in the way they handle and group? Thanks very much.
  4. I have found in my guns that the longer the OAL, the better accuracy I get. In my main gun I load 9's to 1.165" OAL. They fit in the mag with room to spare and function flawless. Each guns mag will determine the longest OAL you can use. As Glock's for example can't go out as long as I load mine.
  5. Just wondering, what am I missing? The places I've priced Berry's from and the prices I got from Angus for Zero bullets for my production gun, Zero's from Angus are cheaper. Where are you guys pricing the Berry's from. I've used Berry's for the last 3 years with only one issue and that is they don't like fast powders in my gun. No accuracy and lots of key holes.
  6. I also wouldn't worry about the little variation you may get from the head. What kills me though is that people are willing to pay I think 25 dollars plus shipping for the kit from Uniquetek. You can get all the stuff needed locally. All you do is drill and insert heli coils into the die head and then put screws in place of the pins. Now if I was reloading for precision rifle, that may bother me some. This may be an issue why I stopped loading precision rifle
  7. For what it's worth, I crimp to .379-.380 with Berry's and Zero. I've had no problems with set back or feeding.
  8. Does it even make weight for production? According to CZ's website it is too heavy for production and can't be used in ESP. Thanks guys. Don't want to shoot IDPA with it. To my knowledge, I don't see anything proposed for a weight limit in USPSA production. I do know there is a current rule of no more than 2oz over the factory weight. If I'm wrong on this, please correct me. Oops EERW beat me to it.
  9. Been thinking about picking one of these up for Production. With the possible rule changes in '08, I would like to know if the SP-01 fits the IDPA box? Sounds like what USPSA would like to use is going to be similar if not the same.
  10. Thanks guys. Rocket hit it on the head. I knew about the tension knob, but wanted to know how the shims are held into place. I really wouldn't want to have the shims come out of the carrier during a COF. Shooting production, you tend to have more empty carriers than full ones I'll also take a closer look at the speed comps. As for the adjustability of the cant, I don't see much use for that in production as it seems that most of my carriers wrap around my body, except maybe for a couple towards the back. May just have to get a couple of each and experiment. Thanks again.
  11. After looking at the CR's a little closer, I see that they have a shim to adjust to different mags. How well does this work? I'm looking for carriers for a G34. Would I need to be worried about them coming out during a COF or become missing during transportation? I ask, as nobody around here uses CR's, Safariland is the common item around here.

    Vanek Drop In Trigger?

I have heard he is a good guy to deal with. I have a friend who has one of his old triggers that is now not allowed in production. All I can say about the trigger is awesome. Keep us posted on how it works for you.
  13. Thanks Doug. Sounds like it's going to be back to n310. I've played with it in the past and like it. I just have some 124g to finish shooting up so I had thought about N320, but I've still got a little over a pound of Titegroup to finish too. I guess the 124's and Tite will make a nice pair until they are gone. I was loading 147's with Tite and just didn't like the way it felt. It made my gun run sluggish, and I had to fight the sights.
  14. Are the CR Versa Max pouches legal for production class?
  15. Doug C, nice to see you running for our state, hope you get it. Back on topic now Doug, what do you think about Titegroup vs N320 under a 124 or 147g Zero bullet. I've done searches, but have come to no conclusions for myself. I see that N320 is rated as a slower powder on a couple different burn rate charts that I've checked. I've always tried to stay with faster burning powders. I've been wanting to try it, but hate to buy a pound of N320 and then not use it. Jay

    Vanek Drop In Trigger?

Seems that people like the Vanek trigger. Now back to the original question. For those of you that have the trigger or have been able to play with a Glock that does, how does the trigger feel? Does it stack, feel solid, feel soft? What would you estimate the trigger travel and reset at? Is the reset solid, or can it barely be felt? I only ask these questions as I'm coming from another gun platform that had a Bruce Gray trigger job and am kind of spoiled by it. Some Glocks that I have played with have a stacking feel when squeezing the trigger, while some feel like glass cause they are so smooth. I've also come across resets that I can't feel at all, some that have a crisp reset, some that are very long, some that are short, etc. I would like a trigger kit where I can feel the reset, as I'm what you could call a sear rider I guess. I release the trigger just far enough for it to reset between shots. I also know that it is just going to take some time and dry fire practice to get myself adjusted, but it doesn't hurt to have a step or two in the right direction Thanks again guys.
  17. Hey everyone. Has anyone had any hands on experience with the Vanek drop in trigger that he has available? I would like to know what the pretravel, feel, and overtravel is like. I see he put an overtravel stop in the kit. How does it compare to the RS kit or the Rhea kit. The only trigger I've actually been able to handle is the Rhea kit. Thanks.
  18. I'm considering one of these kits myself. What I would like to know is how the trigger take-up and overtravel is affected? Is the pre-travel shortened? I assume since the standard connector is used, there is still the same amount of overtravel. Is this correct? I saw some older posts where the Ghost Rocket connector has been used by some. How does this affect the trigger feel and pull weight? Thanks for any input.
  19. Is the set up like the 650? Does it drop the case onto a guide surface and then get fed in on the downward stroke before the primer is seated? I had a 650 and liked the case feeder, except for every once in awhile a case would get fed in upside down and jam the machine. Funny thing though is I still used my 550 more often so I sold the 650. But, this case feeder kind of peaks my interest. Jay
  20. I saw that modification topic too, but I can't remember if it was here or at HK Pro. From what I understand though it is somewhat of a pain, and I'm not sure, but I think there may have been reliability issues. I'm going to have to try to find that again.
  21. Jet funnel from HK. Not aftermarket, but it's all you will find, and it installs easy. It will require the use of the white mags. Not cheap by any means. A standard mag will not seat.
  22. For what's it worth, after going through this twice, I had the rear cut for a Bo-Mar and the front cut for a Novak. With these two cuts, you can find any sight you want.
  23. I too have thought about an XD. I had a chance to put some rounds through one and found it to be decent with some changes needed for me. My only real and also main concern is whether it will stay legal for USPSA in the Production division. I've heard rumors that USPSA may not allow it in the Production division in the future. Has anyone else heard this?
  24. That's nice to know, but when I click the picture it only comes up to a size a little bigger than the thumb nail, and I'm not able to enlarge it. But hey thanks to both you and Doug for the info. You've been a big asset and help Thanks again guys, and hopefully I'll run into you soon at a match Doug. Jay
