If I were to look at buying a used open gun, how many rounds do you consider a "high" round count , with open guns being hard on them selves
Im just curious at how many rounds would make you skip on a particular gun, assuming the price corresponds with the mileage and condition
Im also a .40 newbie.
I am looking for some loads for SINGLE stack 1911 in .40. I need too make major for uspsa.
Im not sure of what bullets, powder to try and track down for my maiden voyage, so any help would be great
Does anyone use .40 lead boolits for 1911 maj pf?
Whats a good powder to use.
Is lee fcd any good for this type of load?
Im little nervous loading high pressure
cartridges.
The only caliber I have loaded before is .45
Got a pro custom para 14.45 coming, wanting opinions on division.
Option A - run the gun with stock 14rnd mags in L10.
Option B - buy some dawson plus 4 and run 18 rounds in limited.
What would you do and your reasons why?
Thanks Happy new year!
Sorry to hijack, Whats a good company where I could send a frame - slide to be hard chromed? I used a place somewhere in Florida about 10 years ago to do a slide but I have forgotten thier name..
Any suggestions?
10lbs?! Something is seriously wrong man! If you think its even close to that I would contact para asap. Grip safety could not be engaging 100% among other things. Get a scale and let us know
Has anyone got thier hands on one yet? I bought one of the new production paras earlier in the year and was very impresses with the 14.45 expert model. Para looks like a whole new company compared to the canada days, but I finf myself wanting a new singlestack gun and this looks like a nice fit foe me?
What kind of mags does it like? Ammo length?
Tell me bout her
I found a site called B&B enterprise that sells a xdm ope kit, c.more ,mount, springs, bbl, comp, magwell all in one package , when I was thinking of doing an xdm open gun
Well I havent messed with a open centerfire yet , the main thing I cant make up my mind on is slide mount optic or frame. Like I said I havent messed with one but a frame mount optic just seems faster to aquire than a reciprocating slide optic. Or am I just missing something? Luckily a guy at my range is going to let me try his out with a delta point so I will see then.
Thanks for all the replies and links guys
Yea that is a super nice gun , but it would be a month or soo before I take on this project. Funds arent in place right now , if I had the cash id jump of that thing
I am wanting to bulid an open m&P. I am thinking about just doing a .40 becuase its easier to load for major and I have alot of brass..

Threaded Bbl

What springs do I need and which mag extensions?
Any tips/tricks on how to set it up , what to watch for or anything else needs to be upgraded..
I can get new m&p pistols for 399.00 so thats why im going with m&p.
Yes, I shot a buddys trojan with it on the right side, he is a lefty but im strong hand(righty). Plus I have short fingers, it was nice not having to change my grip to drop a mag. I nust forgot to ask him where /how he got it.
Ssi is out of stock, does anyone else carry these?
