  1. The #51738 has bomar style sight vs a Lpa on the 51782. Also the 51738 does not have the light rail.
  2. Are you looking for the #51738 or 51782? I found the 51738 pro model Tombstone tactical https://www.tombstonetactical.com/catalog/rock-island/51738-m1911a2-irsc-pistol-40sw-5in-16rd-parkerized/
  3. Well said, plus you can knock of the $50 for the magwell. My my hi cap #51679 came with a magwell that is blended perfectly! Very tight fitting gun!
  4. I also just saw the pro model #51738... Very nice. hmmmm..
  5. I wish I had seen the .40 before I ordered the 9mm.... http://tooeleshootingsupply.com/shop/armscor-1911-a2-tactical-2011-hi-cap-40-sw-pistol-vz-grips-tru-glo-front-sight-161-rounds-armscor-51782/
  6. Thanks Kenny, Yes that was the site that Armscor told me to use to buy mags. Do you have any pics of yours with the Dawson .200\.300 pads seated in your gun? I may just run those in keeping with the idea of a budget limited gun..
  7. I ordered a 2011 Armscor#51679 from Tombstone tactical on Friday. I called armscor to ask where to find mags, they sent me to a website (tactical something??).. The mags I saw were the ones they send with the Tcm combo pistols, so im not sure how they will work with the magwell that comes on the 51679.. We shall see and I will get some rounds through it and work up a range report. I will probobaly set mine up with STI mags for some lim minor and Steel games.
  8. If you have one have you put many rounds through it? Hows it doing? Wondering how I should set up the mags? Dawson pads, but unsure of the spacers and spring changes? I knew they re designed the new mags so will all para mag parts work? Anyone tried STI mags in them? T.i.a
  9. Hello, I am with Shooters Precision products. Yes we are a new commercial casting manufacturer. We offer 3 types of projectiles as of now but they are being added to the website a few at a time and not all products are on the site just yet. We offer, Premium cast- certified lead alloy that always produces 18bhn. Econocast- which is a softer, cheaper alloy that produces 12-14bhn. Coated- these will be coated witj Polymer based hi-tek coating that is distributed by our friends at Bayou Bullets. We use Magma molds and Magma automatic casting machines. Price breaks can be had for quanity breaks starting at 10k. I am a pistol shooter at heart while my partners are competitive clay shooters. We sponsored the Uspsa MS Classic this year and will also be sponsoring the ICORE Southern Regional in September. Stay tuned to the website. Thanks,
  10. Congrats on the new toy! I am looking to get one myself. Btw, did you get a good price? What I mean by that is when I looked at Dawsons web site the other day they had a banner on the main page that said " we are stocked up on edge on trojan pistols call for a special unadvertised price"
  11. I have also been eyeballing a gold team setup , but I was curious about all the ports is the barrel also, im not sure I want ammo that hot. thanks kneelingatlas, sorry to hijack but what kinda tango "projects" you got going? I may be intrested in something
  12. What spring weights come stock in the trojan 9mm?
  13. Guys I greatly appreciate the informative responses! Hope to have one on the way to my ffl very soon
  14. Thanks for the input, did you have to ream the chamber to load that long? Im buying a new trojan and ive heard the older ones had short chambers. Ive seen three diffrent generations of trojans I guess. 1- big "Trojan" stamped on side 2- big "Trojan" with horse head 3-Small "Trojan" right above slide stop. Am I correct in my findings?
  15. Charles, What gr. Projectiles are you using?
  16. Thanks for the replies gentlemen. Thats what im looking for is a Flat shooter. Havent messed with .40 yet so I was just curious if it was going to be recomended to change main/recoil springs when you get to that 170pf area. I used to put flat bottom f.p stops on my .45's to make them feel a little flatter. Im trying to buy evetything in one pop so to speak.
  17. Think I want a trojan in .40. I have a ton of brass. So im trying to get some insight as to set one up. Mags? Bullet profiles? Change any springs? Any problems I can expect to see. Shooting maj in s.s btw.

  19. Got started loading this weekend and someone got me some win autocomp. I have only got 115grn lead and 115grn plated at the moment. So my question is anyone use this with any sucess with minor non comped guns? Load data suggest 4.4 starting to 5.1 max with 115rn bullets. 1.110min oal.
  20. Thanks for the replies gentlemen, I was just ready to start loading but I am going to do the right thing and just wait untill TOMORROW ( so far away) and just go buy me a nice scale so I will know for sure what kind of charge I am messing with. Like a kid , I just want to.play with me new toy! Thanks guys im gonna steer clear of using the dipper
  21. Im using 125gr lead r.n bullets. Is there any powder I can use for this load with my lee 5cc dipper. I havent gotten a scale yet so thats why im wanting to know. Lee data sheet with dies says I can use some piwder called vec ao? Any others that I can use with this dipper and leaad bullet? Oal? Thanks guys
