  1. Gah that blows! I on the other hand, had a good experience. PMAGS and MBUS are legit. Fast and cheap shipping. Will be ordering some 20's momentarily.
  2. Oh yeah! I find there to be alot of repetitiveness in the competition world whether it be the gear choice or even the way we move (and for good reason) but...nice to shake things up a bit
  3. I like that idea. SBR now on my wishlist
  4. I'd say shoot the 870. You'll be such a badass at the SC match once you've had enough time behind it!
  5. Ill let you all know for sure if this is legit when I get them. They shipped within 18 hours, so far so good. I'll need to pick up some 20's and probably a few more 30's base on yall's input
  6. True...let me sleep on that and likely make another huge order tomorrow
  7. Building up my AR for 3 gun...and look what I found! 10.30 for windowless, 12.66 for windowed! 8 bucks for shipping? Yes please! http://lanbosarmory.com/index.php?main_page=advanced_search_result&search_in_description=1&keyword=mgmpi I ordered 3 mags..this should be enough for 3 gun matches correct? Enjoy!
  8. Hey guys, Took the dies off, cleaned, and lubed them. Should have done that when I first got them Adjusted for less flare, which will also improve my brass life. My ammo comes out beautiful now! I also took all of my brass and hosed it off, just to get any brass shavings and residue off of them that came from the range. Thanks so much everyone!
  9. Not really any recoil but it does cause the dot to move a bit. With a few adjustments, you can get it to "feel" like your competition gun (i.e trigger pull, weight, C-More). Just one more way to get a little trigger time. Bill Agreed. You wont get hardly any recoil, but if you buy a quality gas gun, the slide still shoots back, and most lock on the last round. The magazines tend to be expensive and you cant drop them like normal mags, kinda have to baby them. I think they are good for practicing your draw, reloads, etc. As well as practicing sight picture at a close distance...once you get out too far, you get into issues that are very different than real steel: the BB trajectory and the time it takes to get to the target. You can get different weight bb's and "hop up" units to change this a bit though.
  10. Gotcha. After I finish enough reloads for this weekends USPSA match, I'm gunna do a deep clean the dies to get all those brass shavings out of there and then see what I can do about polishing them up
  11. This is a great description for beginners of the proper process. Alot of talk on this forum is about seeing the front sight only... assuming you know to use snap targeting and using your peripherals while in the zone
  12. Yes thank you! I meant to also ask how often I should clean the dies. Should I be lubing carbine dies after cleaning them? I'm gunna experiment with more flare or less flare and see what happens!
  13. Hey yall, I have been reloading for only about 300 rds, think I've gotten past the learning curve and have everything set up right. My reloads are reliable and accurate Anyways I noticed that after the bullet seating die, the rounds are dirty with bits of brass mix and wax from the lead bullets. I started cleaning my rounds with a blue shop towel before putting them in the "finished" box. Is this normal because of the lead bullets? Too much flare maybe? I am on a lee turret with a 4 piece die set, I have my seating die set to a factory PMC round and the crimp set to give me a good "clunk" when dropped in my barrel and they fall out freely. This is my towel after 50 rounds
  14. Let us know how it goes. Im switching my 930 for 3 gun right now.. need to send off my turkey barrel for some chopping and re thread
  15. Yes, I intend on completing those in the opposite order
  16. Yeah use the same model, that way you can use the holster and mag holsters. and of course, the actual frame is the same. As far as brands go, Tokyo Mauri, KJW, KWA are all good ones.
  17. Welcome! I have alot of family from Overland Park! I too was looking to reload .223 but came to the conclusion that it was not worth the extra time in brass prep. Seems like it would take wayyy too much shooting to see the benefits. However, I am currently doing 9mm =)
  18. Decided to get the DARK kit and keep it on my belt, 6 o clock. God forbid if anything happens at a match, I know where it is and so does everyone else. Also it will come in handy if im ever alone on the range (300 acres out in the country) and need to work on myself. Dark Angel Medical has a fall sale for $10 off! http://www.darkangelmedical.com/ I'll also work on having a more comprehensive bag and learn more about the proper procedures for using those supplies. Check out the articles at http://www.itstactical.com/topics/medcom/ They also have great gear and articles over at the main page
  19. Practice up! I need to work on this too. It was suggested to me from a squad member : "For strong-hand only shooting - try this: Close your eyes, make a fist with your right hand out in front of you as if holding the gun, but make sure your arm feels natural and not torqued at all. Open your eyes and see the angle your hand is at...that is your best shooting angle for strong-hand only shooting. Some people will be angled more than others (gangsta style)." I'm gunna handle an airsoft for practice to get used to sight picture and just holding the gun in general, and then practice on the range for recoil control
  20. Yeah havent decided if im going to go with the DARK kit or not. If I had it on me and God forbid i caught some gnarly richochet, other guys on my squad cant always be counted on to know how to use my kit. Might just go with a medium kit that has more capabilities that I can keep in the car, at the range, etc
  21. Do any of you bring a medkit with you? Dark Angel Medical has some pretty neat kits and the components are all really easy to use. Weighing in at less than a pound, I am considering putting this on my belt in the 6 o clock position. Shooting sports are rated among the safest sports in regards to injuries...but still, we are shooting live ammo. What do you think?
  22. Yeah sweet reload! I would say maybe take longer strides when running? But if that's your body mechanics then, all is well!
  23. Advice that was given to me for a similar stage was to not run around so much. Bullets can get to your target alot faster than you running up close and shooting them right? Time is most likely saved by taking good shots from distance rather than running around, planting yourself at multiple places. Nothing particular to your run per se, just speaking out loud.
  24. Well I am by no means any sort of expert...but everything looks good really. What did your hits look like?
