Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I've had the problem where i would hit dryfire hard and heavy then peter out. My problem was setting to high of a goal. So now i try to dryfire 4 times a week. I use a habit tracker on my phone to help keep me going. It's seemed to work pretty well.
  2. Whats your practice schedule like now. I notice you shoot a lot of matches? Is that your practice?
  3. I can defiantly see the advantage of swapping those base pads. That little extra length would be a big help on reloads
  4. Actually the Rules say that you can use a guide rod no heavier than Stainless Steel in SSP 8.2.1.3.4 Recoil spring guide rods and dual spring recoil systems made of material that is no heavier than stainless steel I've got a ss guide rod in my glock 34. But I've got the stock one in my range bag just in case Now where it wouldn't work would be if i used an adapter to make like a gen 4 glock use a ss gen 3 Gide rod setup
  5. You'll have to link your videos when you start uploading them. I really like the video that i was able to take. I liked the normal lens b/c It gives you a better sense of the actual distance than the wide angle lens that does the fish eye. The contour does this in 720p but it's not as bad as some of the gopro footage I've saw. I've used movie maker and it's a nice simple way to edit. Basically your just trimming the videos and then connecting them anyways.
  6. I actually used one of those black binder clips. laid the camera across it and used a small machine screw threw one of the silver loops. Then i opened up the clip and put it over my ear muff headband in the center. The problem i ran into was i needed to make a spacer to actually lift the camera up. So i cut the head and threads off of a bolt to use the smooth round part as the spacer. Slipped it in between the top part of the binder clip and the headband. The reason i did this is b/c i usually tip my head down just a little when shooting. Zip tied the two silver parts of the clip together in the back. Set it to record when u turn it on and there we go. If i remember i'll take a picture of the setup The model of the camera was the 808 16. Normal lens version. The only issue i've had with it was the battery life wasn't that great. I've actually got a contour roam 2 that i'm going to start using. Mainly b/c it's a little more robust. And the battery life is way better. When i got the 808 I payed around 30 bucks for it. It seems that they have gotten more expensive as of late. Those came out pretty good! Using velcro to attach? Top or underside of hat brim?
  7. Yup. I'm going on Sunday. I know a bunch of people from the Morgantown area are planning to go as well.
  8. Yes i use mine all the time. You can see the footage here https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtvyb4e0gVaTAAkD5VNCO6g it seems that the 808 have somewhat morphed into Mobius action camera. And the price is getting up there too.
  9. So can someone explain to me in layman's terms how the match bumps work.
  10. It's possible you might be talking about this...
  11. If they perform like they say. Dropping free etc. I'll def get a few to try. I've tried factory, had some good luck with the kci mags. Tried promag which was epic fail..
  12. I tried 2.8gr behind a MBC 147 lead 1.150 Oal. Got 860 fps avg. Have not tested for acc yet. Prob have to goto 3.0gr to get up to 130 pf or so
  13. This is my comp load here. However TG has dried up around my area. I've got 2k MBC 147g bullets that i use for practice. Can anyone suggest a good altenative powder and load for practice. Clays is pretty easy to get around here however i'm not sure if i want to try it if i can find something better.
  14. After having "hosed" an idpa classifier yesterday i can understand this 100%. I typically shoot very well in matches. I feel i move well and with speed. And during matches i have no idea where the "bar" is. I only see the shooters of my squad shoot. So until the scores come out i don't know where that "bar" actually is. This helps me shoot my game. I don't feel a pressure to be fast. I simply shoot to my ability. I do need to learn to call shots better. Which i would love if you guys would post up some drills to help this. Now during the classifier I know where the "bar" is. And i felt a pressure to hit that "bar." And rushed way to fast for my ability. And dropped a lot of points. And at two stages in it was a disaster. I was fast. But that was about all it was. I couldn't tell you where my shots hit till after the fact. And they where bad. Honestly it was embarrassing. I need to slow down and shoot my game. But mentally i just couldn't do it....... Time to regroup and trust in the fundamentals.
