  1. Another vote for Everglades here. Used a Double Alpha and am very happy with the Everglades.
  2. If you do mind sharing, where do you buy your brass?

    Thumb rest

Shameless plug, I have a new GoGuns opposable in black I would sell cheap.
  4. I believe so! I like it much better than the Double Alpha I use to use. Some of the other Open shooters at the local club have switched to it as well.
  5. Very few builder make their own frames or slides. Rebranding is the norm. As for malfunctions. I was in the same boat as you. I had “heard” that open guns were finicky and hard to keep running 100%. Well I bought a 20 year old Briley built rig. I have had ZERO issues in over 5000 rounds with it. It just runs. It is a 38SC....going with 9mm next. I did not seem like a big deal to police up my brass at first. I am kinda over it now. Buy from a company or builder who stands behind their product. Use good reloading techniques. Clean and oil regularly. You should have no problems.
  6. Thank you all for the input. I have LOTS to work on. Movement is where I am weak I think. And yes, I notice a lot of wasted movements as far as shooting position. I seem to always over shoot the spot I want to be in....as I stated above...it is hard for me to get moving and hard for me to stop. Jack...that was a par time classifier, and I wanted a good sight picture. Yes, took me a sec to get it where I wanted it, but I made all my shots in the 5 seconds.
  7. 100% agree. i am big and slow....years of heavy lifting and military life in my younger years and then a head on collision with a drunk drive a couple of years ago has robbed me of a lot of fast movement. it is hard for me to get moving and then hard to for me to slow down. I have been adding sprints to my cardio workouts though and that seems to help a bit. I would love to be able to run the trigger faster, but as you see in the videos, that is as fast as I can run the trigger. I have tried not aiming and just shoot the berm trying to pick up trigger speed. I think that is as fast as my finger will ever be. So I will have to try and move faster in other areas. thanks again.
  8. Oh...and I don’t really care about advancing so much as becoming a faster, more accurate shooter. I figure advancing classification will come if I get those two things down
  9. Thank you for the input. i think it is just everything combined! Here are couple of stages from Sat at our clubs USPSA and from this years Golden bullet. Unfortunately we do. It have ay GM or M open shooters at our club. Thanks again.
  10. I am in Redding and a member of the Shasta Shooters. And shoot at Tehama as well. it Just seems I am at a stand still.
  11. I do have videos....and I do see some things I could do different. And do try and “fix” those issues....the problem is when the timer goes off, all those things go out the window. was thinking of a course, but there never seems to be any close to my neck of the woods.
  12. So....I have been shooting USPSA for about 6 years. Started with limited. Played with revolver very briefly. Then my eyes started going. Switched to PCC. Went back to pistol in Dec in Open devision because I missed shooting pistol. But....I just do not seem to be progressing. I will admit right up front that I really do not practice much. Mainly due to life and time available. I am able to dry fire daily and have some books on it. I want to make an effort to do more live fire training. So what or where do I focus on? I am 50 years old, and as mentioned above...eyes are not what they use to be (wear prescription glasses)...I don’t move fast...and just wonder is there any hope for making any substantial gains at this point? I am a middle of the road B shooter currently. Thanks
  13. Can you please provide me specific sites? All the ones I have searched show back ordered when I click on them.
  14. Rarely does Optics Plant have anything actually in their possession. Learned that lesson in the past.
  15. So it looks like the Cheely is the only option for a mount currently...for an open rig at least? and anyone know of where a 5 moa is in stock?
  16. Nice! Looks like a full length (5.4” barrel) rig?
  17. My I only concern would be making PF. As we know, some barrels are faster than others. that being said, my rig and one of my buddies rig run each other’s ammo at the same PF and our loads are the same (10.2g of AA#7 with MG 124g JHP). Good luck.
  18. I was told LOADING the magazine that many times. He stated today’s magazine springs are pretty robust and last much longer than most people believe. I had called to order more springs and he talked me out of it stating he was very confident I did not need new springs because I only had about 5000 rounds through them. The springs in the magazines in question were his springs and followers so I trusted his advice. Ended up shooting those mags for about a year more and then sold the pistol and mags. They ran flawlessly the whole time. Now I use MBX mags and do have a couple of spare mag springs I carry in my range bag but will not swap them out until there is an obvious spring issue.
