Holy PRICE jump.  Almost a grand already. I was looking at their DS9 line at the beginning of the year and they cost was $2,999.  It looks like MPA designed an "IDPA" version and a "USPSA" version.   Not sure I understand the mark up on the "LO" version of the pistol?

Curious if they are worth that price point.  I guess time will tell.

I'll let you know in about 4-5 weeks...........

Caution:  some of Harrison Custom's stuff requires work.  I'd expect to have to polish the hammer hooks.  Also, his sear is the fattest around.  You'll have to fit the TS to it.

If you don't want to buy the tools and jigs, just drop in an EGW ignition kit.  Every one I've used literally dropped in and worked.  Granted, all the holes in the receivers and frames were in the right places.  If they are not, nothing is going to drop in and work.

    Excellent advise!

I’m looking at different jigs and polishing stones to do my own trigger job. Just wondering what grit stones you guys use to take off and polish the metal.

I saw the true radius sear jig looks like it’s leading the pack when it comes to sears. I’m assuming most guys take a tiny bit of material off the hammer hooks until the creep is gone?

As a true proponent of the TR jig, I have always followed John Harrison's excellent directions for correct stone use:

https://shop.harrisoncustom.com/images/uploaded/pdf/HD-806 True Radius PRO Sear Jig.pdf

My go-to hammer/sear combo has been the Extreme Engineering Lite Speed series; and with the Wire EDM manufacturing I find the hammer needs little to no stoning for a glass rod, no creep brake when combined with a TR prepped sear.

    Of course, YMMV.............

So I'm using a race holster for the first time and I'm not sure if this is supposed to happen or if I'm doing something wrong. I'm using a DAA Flex and whenever the gun is holstered and I'm in my lowered center of gravity start position, the muzzle is pointing directly at the outside edge of my leg. Now I've done some dry fire with it and tried to rush how quickly I remove the safety and at my current skill level I cannot physically get to the safety faster than the muzzle becomes level with the ground, but under time pressure I'd still be worried I somehow knock the safety off as I establish my grip.

I've tried to watch as many YouTube reviews of the holster to see if others have the problem, but honestly there's not a whole lot of footage out there. There's a few good clips of Max Michel, but he uses an upright starting position and if I stand like that, I have no issues. I can try and get some pictures later if people think it'll be helpful to help diagnose.

Didn't know if you had seen this review.........

Seems with the single cant adjustment it could easily be rotated prior to a stage?

Does the manual lock "have" to be engaged prior to a stage start?

Just thinking out loud since I purchased a new Flex for upcoming LO and have tried to thoroughly research the options it offers for optimal use.............

Dr Phil's solution worked out GREAT. I need to take some pics, make a video. I love it. Cost $4 in materials at my local hardware store

Couldn't remember if your doing a 2011 style pistol; but if so, remember why the open gun slide rackers are angled UP in a prominent fashion...........

no matter what, it still takes up some window real estate. I just don’t care for them on a range toy or my competition pistols. I have a 2nd P322 with iron sights if I want to shoot that instead.
    :)

    Agree!

For me, the front sight will definitely show up in the window; and is a distraction IMO.  Would rather concentrate on only one optic/dot that I have to overlay on the target.

LO Comp pistol I have ordered comes setup with NO front sight when using the RDS........

Could one of you who actually receive and run a full retail X-10 give us a review please. I'm especially interested in the length of handle throw. In the video reviews I've watched it seems to be about 30% longer than my Dillons.

    Thanks.

You may have already seen these; but just in case......posted by a Randal Bragg on the X-10 FB Group:

For the new X-10 press owners (and current)...please watch this video I put together BEFORE assembling your press and watch it end to end. These are some set up tricks and other information to help you have a great experience with set up. It is not a full set up video...hopefully I can do one at a later date.

Again, please watch till the end which explains (short cycling) and why NOT to do it. The time will be worth your while and save you headaches. Also please watch the video I posted on proper indexing adjustment; you will thank yourself.

Thanks.  This is exactly what I was looking for.  I figured it was cable management.  I was just getting ready to jump on here and inform the thread I figured it out, that it was indeed cable management.  The USB cable was picking up interference just as the video indicated.  I re-routed the USB cable and with the press empty it can run at 1800 RPM which is probably as fast as I want to run it.

I am surprised I did not run into this video as I watch a lot of that channel.

    Thank you.

Glad to help and hear that you got it running!

I did a brief search and could not find anything on this so if there is another thread can the Admin please file appropriately.

I thought it might be wise to create a thread with Dillon/Mark 7 integration problems and questions so they can be consolidated in one place.

I have set up a used Mark 7 on my Dillon 1050 and I am having what I believe to be emf (electromagnetic interference) issues.  Once the Mark 7 is driving the press at a certain speed it shuts down.  Everything works fine until I reach a certain speed which is not close to the max speed the press is capable of.  I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar or the same issue and was able to isolate the problem.  I have done a couple of things, but I think it has to do with the way I have the Mark 7 control wires routed.  Has anyone figured out which cable seems to be the most sensitive of the bunch or I need to isolate?  I intend to work on the issue this weekend, but if someone has already figured it out it may save me some time.

    Thanks in advance.

@Boomstick303 I'm not automated yet...........but would have to recommend you move the thread over to the non-Dillon Equipment side and seek input from experienced M7 automation users there.  Especially @SSGJohnV as he can provide "factory support"!

IIRC, he mentions importance of cable management in this video.  Also have "heard" of others experiencing issues at increased speeds if the calibration is off.........

IMO, this info is relevant to using the automation on Dillon or M7 presses.

If you're used to kydex, why switch to a open rig? Unless you're running a big thumb rest.

I've played with both, I shot open for 2 years using a race holster, I used one some in Revo and some in limited. Eventually I decided they really weren't worth it to me. Now I just run kydex for everything. I've done .7x's from kydex. In fact I've done sub second from aiwb concealed.

I've had 3 guns fall from race holsters because the lock didn't engage properly. Once in dryfire when the wife asked me to do something. Once into a mud hole at the range practicing and once at a major into some nice sand. This was with 3 different holsters.

Don't know if it's considered a "big" thumb rest, but will be using the Nitro Fin 2.0 on my build.

Fully understand and appreciate your feedback on kydex vs open.  I do plan on keeping my current CO rig ready to use at any time; but decided to get another separate rig for the LO pistol.  And at this point, if LO never becomes a true division, I would shoot it in Open Minor!  And then probably move up to an Open pistol!  That's just how much I enjoy the 1911/2011 platform and hope to stay active in that platform along with the MAX in CO.  But IMO, after talking with a couple of industry professionals, I think LO is going to thrive!  ;)

As I mentioned above, the latest DAA Flex looks like a fully customizable option with what appears better rigidity during retention.

    Thanks for your feedback!

I have fleshed out the open holster idea a while back and for what reason I cannot remember but I would buy the Everglades MRH holster. There is a rather extensive thread about it on the forum. I would read that thread before buying anything. Seemed like there was a lot of useful information in regards to a lot of different open style holsters. If you buy it be sure to buy the thigh pad. It’s not a cheap holster but it may be worth it in the long run.

    https://www.evergladesammo.com/accessories/holsters/everglades-magnetic-race-holster.html

I have been dry firing rather extensively as of late and I can get my dry fire draw down to under 0.8 out of normal kydex.  Since I play in other games and intend to keep CO as an option to shoot I am not sure I want to move to an open style holster as of yet. Maybe something to keep in consideration if one shoots other divisions with holster restrictions. If I were it would be the Everglades MRH. Buy once cry once kind of thing.

As for magazine holders everything I use for USPSA is the DAA Race pouch which is the earlier Gen of the DAA Xi pouch. I love those because they can be adapted to any mag out fo the box with a decent amount of adjustability.  If buying for an open rig only I would give Hennings new magnetic mag holders some consideration.

I have recently switched my hangers to Hennings T-1000. They are amazing so if you were to stick with Kydex maybe also a possibility to upgrade for adjustability purposes.

    Good luck in your search.

@Boomstick303 I have read several of the posts that pop up when doing a search for the MRH, and indeed there are several experienced, respected competitors here that have switched and love it!  Of course it's not perfect for everyone; but sure looks like an excellent option.  Seems for now that EA is the only place showing stock; and with the optional thigh pad and screw upgrade, does come in at a considerable cost.

Yea, if I was staying with kydex, I would definitely be jumping on the Henning T-1000!  Beautiful looking rig that's getting great reviews!

Still got till around the end of April; so no immediate rush........just finished watching a couple of DAA videos on the newest model Flex holster; and it definitely looks improved and updated.

    THANKS for your feedback!
