  1. Here is part one of two. It is my second time shooting 3Gun. So you will see some of the slowest times and a lot of floundering around forgetting things.
  2. I worked stage 3. Here is Jerry's record making stage run. Record making in terms of raw time. He did fail to neutralize one paper target. But raw time was 30.71!!!
  3. I got all my gear stationed in the garage. Waiting for my state inspection to be done. See you tonite!
  4. If you see anything good, grab it for me haha. Got all my gear setup. Gonna pack this weekend. Cant wait to shoot!
  5. I saw this picture and it looked like an awkward method to hold a rifle. However I noticed that the magazine is trapped by his support forearm. Any thoughts on this method of holding a rifle?
  6. Has Larry or Howard shared what prizes or sponsors we have this year for the match?
  7. Can some one clarify? Do BUIS count as an optical sight? Say Tac Ops has a scope and 45 def offset irons. Is that ok?
  8. I like to keep a light on my Glock all the time. I have been using it at my club's local USPSA matches. But I was wondering, are pistol lights even allowed for Production? Are they allowed for any division?
  9. I just want something that matches my gear. I am not sure if a padded belt is allowed in USPSA, IDPA or 3Gun.I saw brass monkey but Im looking for the double Velcro style belt. I have a SO Tech cobra belt, similar to what Brass Monkey makes. I am trying to move away from that design.
  10. I am a newbie to multigun as well. I just jumped into the deep end and staffed FNH last Sept. Very informative. Of course I competed as well. I had done action pistol and action shotgun all last year so that has helped. Yes shotgun loading is one of the most crucial aspects of the game. Getting your reload down is critical. You need to plan out the real estate you have on your belt to accommodate all the things you will need in the stage. Another aspect is the long range rifle targets. I am weak on that. So for me that eats up the most time for me. FNH, last year, had a capacity limit for tac optics. 9 max in the gun. I ran with my KSG. Reloads are slower and not having a choke hurt me a little with the farther steel targets when shooting out of a 18.5" barrel. I have since gotten a H&R Pardner and choked both the Pardner and KSG.
  11. Does anyone make custom competiton belts? I want something like a CR or DAA belt but I want it in Mutlicam and coyote brown. I want the inner belt to use loop multicam Velcro and outer belt to use the woven multicam material.
  12. So I shot my club's first two gun match. I was trying a bunch of firsts in competition. 1. Magpul Pardner modified with choked Remington ATACS barrel and cheap micro red dot. 2. Glock 35 never fired before. (Picked it up last week) 3. My custom kydex shell caddy. 4. KSG with tactical choke I brought the KSG along as a back up. I like the 870 clone as I can load it faster. But the sight got worse as I went along. So I pulled out the KSG. My Eotech doesn't seem very bright on new batteries so I ditched that as well.
  13. Cut an upside down "V" about the size of the clay. Hang it on the V and wrap it and the clay with a rubber band. Thanks. But my club already has metal stands like that. I want a cardboard IPSC target holding like 4-5 clays in a compact sized target.
  14. One of the stages last year, used a cardboard target with holes cut out so you could insert clays into them and it would hold up the clays. Any ideas how to cut those holes?
  15. No it Didnt. I could try that. Take a ring off at a time.
  16. Thanks Dan. Is there anything to alleviate this? Or just down grade to say 6 rounds on reload? Or man up and beef up my thumb? Haha
  17. I put a Carlson's mag tube extender on my H&R Pardner 870 clone. So now it is 8+1. When I perform a twins load the last two shells seems rather difficult to insert compared to the first pair. Any ideas what could be the issue?
  18. Solscud007 I am sure you weren't intentionally throwing a "gig" at anyone with this comment. I am guessing you were just making a statement of fact about the high cost of the equipment we use and you just picked a company making a product you were looking at immitating. Good job on your holders, they look great. MarkCO - just a quick shout out for the class act. As the owner of Carbon Arms I am guessing you could have taken offense to a comment like this, instead you give out a kudo's. I like that. Shows "class" in my book. Oh no. I don't mean anything at any one or any product. Sorry for singling out Carbon Arms. It was just the first that came to mind. I was only poking fun at myself for not being able to afford the better built caddy systems. There is a obvious difference in quality. I'm sure the price is just, it is just I can't afford them. And yes, an attribute to the carbon arms caddy, it was my muse. My first twins caddy was based on the carbon arms. Here is a video of my first caddy attempts. With the carbon arms inspired design. And my recent creations.
  19. Sure. They wont be nearly as expensive as the caddies out there which was my goal. $100 for 8 shells? Im not made of money. I rather buy ammo haha.
  20. I have dabbled in some action shotgun and shot my first 3 gun match at last year's FNH 3Gun. But due to lack of funds and time (Mainly funds) I cant participate in all the multi gun matches I would like. As well as afford the cool gear I would like. My friend had some spare kydex so I tried my hand at making my own kydex shell caddies. I have been trying my hand at a weakhand load and grabbing 4 shells. Im not fast but much faster than before when I started shooting shotgun in matches haha. Here are my first attempts. Nothing pretty but they work. Here is my poor attempt at a twins rig on my molle rig. I modified a plastic shell side saddle and attached it to a plate of kydex and made straps for molle. Then I got ambitious and made a twins caddy. With the left overs I made a perpendicular slug caddy. (I didnt have any slugs handy for the pic) Here is my third attempt at the 4 shell caddy. And my high capacity twins caddy haha. Yes, that is two stacks of 8 hehe. I use my weak hand to load these but I can flip the belt loops and shell stop at the bottom around and make this strong side reload.
  21. You might want to look at the TruGlo Titan as well.
  22. I have some questions about this teamed event. So it seems, from the sample video of last year, that each member of the team uses one of the 3 guns. Does this mean that is the case for every stage? Every stage will require one member to shoot one of the 3 guns? Do the team members have to shoot the same gun for every match? Or are they forced to rotate to different guns? If the team members have to shoot a different gun each stage does it have to be the same gun? For example. Team members ABC. They shoot Shotgun, Rifle, Pistol in that order. A=Shotgun, B=Rifle and C=pistol. Ont he next stage, if it is required to rotate to different guns, the A=rifle, B=Shotgun, C=Pistol. Now who's gun are they shooting next? I would assume if there is no rotating out to different guns, then who ever shoots shotgun would use their own shotgun all the time. If rotating to a different gun each stage do you force the team member to use the shotgun, from a previous stage, that they might not be familiar with? Does that make sense? Sorry for confusing this haha. Oh also it said that there will only be Tac Ops. Will there be a heavy TacOps too? or everyone will be under one division?
  23. Has anyone ever considered running a Poly choke or Tru-Glock Titan? They are adjustable chokes that you can switch on the fly. Not sure about the safety aspect of twisting something at the end of your barrel with rounds in the gun. Possible self sweeping problem. But the stages I have seen rarely would one need to switch chokes during the stage. When I shot a round of 100 sporting clays, the guys I was grouped with told me that a study was done. That even with full cylinder, thre is a small central pattern of about 8 inches that never expands even out at 50 yds. The rest of the pellets will expand but not that 8 inch circle. So if you can thread the needle at 50 yds, technically it will still work.
