Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. My pretty for 16 years and three awesome boys. Oldest shot his first match this weekend with his new SP01. My heart sings.
  2. LIMITED 10 OVERALL RESULTS 1 Burrell, Mike F42936 GM Limited 10 Major N N 1459.1463 100.00% 2 Dickerson, Kenny TY44332 B Limited 10 Major N N 1327.3547 90.97% 3 Savage-M, Peter U Limited 10 Major N Y 1247.0943 85.47% Awesome match this year, better than last year! Thanks to Frank and all the staff. It was colder than we expected, my five pairs of shorts were not used much. I walked right by a target on the Appliance stage and took two mikes and a procedural. That sucked. The catfish were biting on chicken livers though, and I was happy with my finish. It only took us 33 hours to drive down this year vice 37 last year. It's all good. I think I'll have a go at Limited next year. Thanks gang, V7
  3. I was wondering the same thing. Long drive from Nova Scotia!
  4. Wow, you should come this summer and shoot the Canadian Nationals in Vancouver 1-5 Aug then a quick jaunt down the coast to the Area 1 Champs in Washington State. Two level three matches in two weeks. (1-12 Aug) That's a brilliant vacation.
  5. Any idea who will be the distributor/dealer(s) here in Canada? www.freedomventures.ca These guys are the Canadian Distributors. Sean will have a list of Canadian dealers.
  6. I have 9 mags for my edge .40, I carry 5 on the belt and one in the gun. We're all limited to 10 rounds up here and I have used all six mags on at least one occasion. Nice to have a few extras for practice too.
  7. Woo hoo! Can't wait. Application is gone, ATF form 6 received... Yeah baby! 37 hours non-stop drive door to door last year, wonder if we'll beat it this year? I think there are 5 coming from Nova Scotia this year. See you there. Pete
  8. mmm. Should be driving back from Florida open around that time... Ms Goloski, any chance of some USPSA matches coming back to S&W? Easy road trip for us bluenosers. regards, Pete
  9. I like to think of both my training regimen and participation in matches as "practice" For me, when I can consistently nail down a nice clean run across 5 plates or poppers to my satisfaction when I am alone and relaxed I feel I had a good practice session. When I can run across the same 5 plates at a match with the mental pressure of my squad and some top shooters watching and my drive to win and not screw up, I feel I am practicing. The more matches I shoot, the better I get at performing under mental duress or "match conditions" Practice your skills, but practice your performance as well. A shooter who practices all the time and shoots two matches a year will be defeated by an equally skilled shooter who shoots a match every two weeks.
  10. My wife and I were talking a while back about her working and the kids, etc. and she says to me: "I measure success by what I had to give up to achieve it." For a second I thought she meant the more she sacrificed, the greater her perception of the success she achieved. Then I realized I was wrong.
  11. CDN$4.55 a gallon here in Nova Scotia
  12. One of my helo pilot buddies has: ROTRHED
  13. Either way works for me, but seeing as I'm coming from Canada it would be awesome if the Florida State Champs were on the proceeding/next weekend...two awesome matches in one trip! Of course if the UN sends me to Africa in December as planned, it will be a moot point... DVC Pete
  14. Greetings fellas! Seems to me all the greats have these (and no doubt other) traits in common. They all have: 1. ...some natural athletic ability; 2. ...the ability to compartmentalize the pressure, internal and external, to perform; 3. ...the ability to self-analyse and correct performance errors - quickly; 4. ...the drive, and the means, to succeed; and 5. ...a personality that allows them to examine the perspectives of others and accept or reject them based on their merits, not their source. What a privilege to participate in such a great discussion! Good shooting all! Pete limited 10 A
