  1. Alright for all you that haven't figured it out yet. Tie the damn flashlight to your hand and go. They give you that nice litttle lanyard so use it. Trust it works just ask the Canadians I showed on our squad last year. Stop trying to reinvent the damn wheel already!

  2. The surefire Z series lights are the only way to fly. I've carried one daily for 6 years and its seen all kinds of weather, been dropped, and abused.... still works great. I'm sure the plastic ones are ok for sticking in the glove box but the metal ones will take a beating for years.

  3. Pretty damn good in a lowlight situation actually. You can center the BG up and whack him without ever loking at sights. I just don't see how for one stage a year it is worth all the debate and hooplooh. Take 5 minutes and learn to shoot with the damn light they give you, who knows it might actually save your butt one day.

  4. LwE,

Trust me we have a guy at our club that has the same problem you do. He thinks he is going to buy his way to a win. He's on the 5th or 6th gun now. He's still getting spanked. It is so bad that the guys are trying to talk him into whatever gun they want next because it will be cheaper buying it used after 1 match when he trades it in on Mon. You can be competitive without practice depending on natural talent up to a point. Then you just start finishing as high as you can. Trust me I haven't practiced in a couple years and still finish in the top 3 at most local matches. Here is the easiest and cheapest way to solve the problem and prove to yourself that it aint the gun... ask the guy to shoot his gun in the match. When you explain that you think it is the gun he'll laugh at you and probably go along. He'll still beat you and then once and for all you'll KNOW IT AINT THE GUN!

  5. Gee go figure he practices more than you and beats you. Maybe if you step around the tree in front of you you'll see the forest? It aint the gun. Once you realize that you might just beat him.

  6. KurtM,

In my line of work if I got pissed off everytime somebody said something bad about me or some other negative it would be a long time of being mad. I personally didn't take the article as a hit on your ability. I think you maybe reading more in to it than was intended by the writer. I took it as a scoring issue nothing more. I better quit before one of the moderators gets there panties in a bunch.

  7. I read the article and really don't see what has you so upset. It was basically a discussion on different scoring methods being used more than a report on the match. The part about the rev. shooter is true. You get one guy that is ok and beats a couple other shooters on every stage he gets all the points. That was pretty much the point of the article. The guy gets 100% of the match points where as the Open guy has to split the points with the other stage winners. The scoring system then becomes the victim of the lets make a division for every type gun which splits the top shooters off rather than competeing against each other. The only solution is to not combine any of the scores or you get these kind of comparisons.

  8. Cactus,

I agree that the dot or circle dot are limited in application. Just like the mil dot is. Closest thing to the optimal do all is the new HV. You can make your range card for whatever load you're using and the dot is good at true CQB distance. Best choice is really a dot scope on the handguard and a real scope on the flattop.
