  1. What Carmoney said with one of those long high round count stage kind of matches is just about right.

(carmoney is just as good as the rest of the pile of uz that really pushed revolver hard in the early parts of 2000. Cliff,Dan Carden, Bagakis, myself,Elliot, Josh, ect. When we all managed to shoot the same match there was no telling who would come out on top)

no new tricks. The more you do it the better you get(shooting not head up arse)) helps to shoot with better shooters at the club level and it doesnt matter if they dont shoot a revo.

  2. At local matches with the talent around the Tennessee area where l usually shoot 70% +/-

Is about right if (BIG IF) l do my part is about rigt when l was really shooting. That always was a few open Masters and open Gm at the matches.

At the big matches like area matches if l kept my head out of my arse 60% + of the overall winner was always one of my levels i looked for.

  3. If you really want to find out. Buy one of all, and test until you have an answer for yourself. Until then all you get are other peoples personal likes.

Don't want to sound harsh, but shooting handguns revolvers especially is pretty much what suits you.

    edit for spelling

  4. Cheryl,

Just another match with more shooters and the top of the class Range officer staff. Other than that the same cardboard targets, steel that goes "PING" ect. and so on !!!!!!!! Nothing different than the Memphis Charity Challenge in shooting against many other revolver shooters except it (USPSA NATS) is set up to challenge the Single Stack guns and then the Revolver shooters get to shoot it too. You will do fine, just have fun, and don't try too hard. (Learned this the hard way myself)

  5. Christmas was good and Santa brought me a new Limited Gun !!!!!!! (Just Joking) But he did bring baby stuff !!!!!

Hip doing good. Range of Motion will be a lifelong project and will take plenty of work. Going back to work full time Jan 6th but with limits. (since I am the Foreman it can be arranged) Deer hunting has been a very good workout. Have only "caught" one still, but my cameras tell me they are mostly Nocturnal (the ones I'm looking for). Gait better, but I catch myself taking a step "the old way" less often now, and I know it when I do!!!!!

Updates will come less and less often now so Happy New Year every one !!!!!

  6. Week 13! Week 10 was a trip to see the surgeon who said "l like your progress. I can release you to work light duty, or we can do 3 more weeks of PT. I would rather you do the PT." You can drive but get out and walk every hour of driving to keep from getting blood clots. We opted for the PT. Have been deer hunting 2 weekends now. Walking in the woods, and tall grass is a very good excersize and really kicks me in the ass. Have "caught one deer" and hope for a couple more. 5 more trips to PT then back to work, bit light duty. The Doc says no complex motions of that leg for 3 months (January/February). Hip feels great. Muscles still complain since l havent used them like they are supposed to be in years. I want to thank all those who sent well wishes and most especially my wife Elizabeth for her support and help!

  7. Try Vic Picketts "Black Magik" kit (you can find him through icore.org) it has a new main spring and two weights of rebound springs. All his springs are "chriogenized" which gives them a slightly different molecular structure than regular spring steel. He also has a different geometry on his Main spring. It can put as much or little resistance as a factory but just feels softer than a factory at the same weight by my trigger scale. (my experience).

The shorter of the two rebound springs give me around four lbs to overcome and the longer five. I cant out run the shorter and always have contact on the finger release even back when i was "in the game" and could do. . 15 splits on a really regular basis.

My next choice would be Jerry's kit.

  8. If you find a five inch barrel you can get every thing you need done at Clark Cusom. They installed my 6" barrel on my 646 project.

If you want the P C trigger buy it and have them install while doing an action job. I would suggest the "Black Magik"spring kit from Vic Pickett (found at icore.org) but that is my personal choice. Then l would use Jerrys Bang kit. Both work great and very few people can feel the difference in them. ESPECIALLY in the USPSA/IPSC type games. PPC now that is a horse of a different color.

    Just my .02 cents worth. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .But what do l know?

  9. New hip is Depuy eserom titanium stud and joint but ceramic on high strength plastic bearing surfaces.

Went to the surgeon Wednesday for 6 weeks check up. He released me to drive and was happy with my progress. My range of motion was so bad that he is recomending at least two more weeks of physical therapy after this week of my original Rx.

Cant do complex leg motions for 3 months (January) but he said i can do whatever i want to try. So l went deer hunting this weekend. Didnt get one but saw plenty and did way plenty walking to help me get better (legs told me so)

  10. EEH

No we are not going to be there. We are expecting Hope Annah Keen mid February and have no plans to travel except for my work from Jan thru April.

Wednesday the 20th is my 6 weeks trip to the surgeon. I will likely get released to drive, and may be released to work with certain comditions. PT going good, but R O M not where the P. T. and l both want it so we'll see what the Dr. says aboit that.

All pain from the surgery gone. Most pain from prior to sugery gone so as far as that goes it has been a good decision. More time and effort required for proper walking form. Kind of hard to change a habit that is 25+ years old.

Hope to get to deer hunt during Thanksgiving its a 4 hour drive, and l now have Dr orders to not go over an hour drive without getting out and stretching my legs to avoid a blood clot in the new hip area. We will play that one by ear.

  11. New youngster may not take many trips in the beginning, but we look forward to seeing everyone.

Did some range of motion tests today. I now can do 70 degrees knee up with the new hip side. Haven't been able to do that in 5+ years :-) :-) :-) :-)

  12. Sorry to hear of your loss of Daisy. Treasure the good times you and the rest of the family had with her as God put dogs on this earth for a very speacial reason!

    Redial

Don't have any regrets, and be sure what you did was the right thing to do.
