  1. Smith & Wesson model 657 & 57 are double action/single action revolvers. Likely not what you are looking for, but fine revolvers. I have taken several deer with my 657, and preferr it way more than my Ruger Super Redhawk in 454 Casull which l shoot 45 long colt in.

  2. Terrible how an observation of published numbers can make people dicker so much. What we (Pationate revolver shooters) had hoped would bolster numbers in our favorite division so far isn't producing much upswing in the early major matches. I showed that just to make it seen and hope that there is more participation at the club level (where it really needs to be). Yes as with most all new changes it will take a little time for the real numbers to show up. Let's just hope they do and in a good way before the two year time runs out. Since it was never intended to be an 6major vs. 7+ minor discussion to begin with lets just go ahead and close this one. Maybe later in the year when we get more numbers to compare with we can openit back up.

  3. No ICORE in TN.

Closest is the club on the border of indiana and Kentucky where Matt Griffen shoots. Cant remember the name sorry. Maybe Oakridge one day but not now.

  4. Thanks Chuck for your VOLUNTEER work as the Area 1 director, and thanks for the info you gave us.

I live in Area 6 where at the time of the divisional rule change was going on Linda Chico was our area director. I called her and we had a fairly lengthy talk on several issues, but the issue of changing the revolver division was pretty cut and dry for her vote. She told me she had heard from several folks in different states in A-6 and the MAJORITY by a big margin did not want the change thus her vote No.

I told her my opinion but then told her mine didnt matter either way as what was best for improving participation in the revolver division was the issue that was on hand. So far the bigger matches dont seem to be fairing very well. Heck from other reports on this forum the BEST REVOLVER SHOOTER EVER isnt attending the National Championships this year in favor of a 3-gun match instead.

My hope is that the new rule change has an impact at the club level where it really does make a difference. All the major matches are going to fill up period. Revolver division or not doesnt really matter at that level.

Some of you may be asking why l am not out there pushing and shooting like in the past. Simply put.

I am still recovering from a hip replacement last fall, and now have a 7 weeks old baby girl that is more important to me in my life than shooting. Put in my position l am sure every one would do the same thing.

Nobody but the area directors and office staff at USPSA will be able to tell if the change was a help, and those numbers wont be available for a while. Until then. If you want the revolver division to continue to exist get some of your shooting friends to shoot the devision occasionally 6 major, or 7+ minor doesnt really matter now. JUST SHOOT.

  5. 5 months out from surgery, and l shot a club 3 gun match today.

During the 4th of 5 stages l noticed l was properly walking and had ZERO pain in the new hip leg anywhere.

Now there is some stiffness and ache in the other leg, but the new hip did well. Shooting not up to par, buf today wasnt about the shooting compared to the going and trying it out.

  6. Not too impressive so far if you ask me.

    2013 area 6 ------5

    2014 area 6 ------4

    2013 area 3 ------2

    2014 area 3 ------5

    2013 area 5 ------2

    2014 area 5 ------7

    2013 area 8 ------8

    2014 area 8 ------8

2013 indiana sstk, pro, rev ------18

    2014 -----------------------------14

    2013 Mississippi classic ---------12

    2014 -----------------------------15

Just on the matches with this year entries vs. Last on matches that traditionally have more revolver turnout than usuall.

May be a little early, but not too impressive. Hope for USPSA Revolver division there is way more intrest at the club level.

  7. Let me put just a hint. l predicted the bring 2 guns and choose which is best option to my area director (A-6) and with that prediction and the fact that she heard more negative responses from members in her area than positive is why she voted not to change the rule.

Now this (change declared pf) can still be done but you will need to declare it to the match staff before you fire your first shot (no rule against it yet) , but i can see a rule getting added to prevent this kind of thing really quick and that decision being put into the Match director/Range Masters hands at match time to allow it or not.

So if you have a real reason to change Pf like breaking a primary gun prior to the match and not having a similar reacement IE break that fancy 929 and having the 625 as back up you can still shoot the match and not have to stay home.

The problem with the classifiers is just that. Sarge has as much a gripe as all those who wanted the 7+ shooter rule to be added. So just let the evolution go about. Me personally. I think they should have left the classifiers alone and that been a part of the game of which gun to shoot months prior to a match.(or day before) Hopalong

reloads are mostly a muscle memory type of thing (why Jerry can do it blind folded) when l am really in the groove and practiced up to get in that groove lt ( reload ) zeems like a slow blur of time. I know what is going on but dont pay much attention to anything special. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .Here is the kicker unless something isnt correct. Gun @ wrong angle, or wrong feel of the reload( moonclip, speedloader ect.) in the hand, or not a good " thunk " from the moon going in smoothly ect. Those things are the things that should be "automatic " unless something is " wrong "

    edit for clarity.

I see what isnt is correct. Dont care if it is correct and dont pay that any attention. If that stuff is correct then l'm paying attention to targets. Footwork ect.
