  1. Depending on where you are, J&S wholesale in CA. I think it's at least a half pallet minimum, but shipping is free to some of the western states. What exact loads are you looking for? Also, does it have to be Fiocchi? IMHO, Aguila and Kemen are every bit as good and could be a little cheaper.
  2. Get it while it's cheap.. I have the first model that they came out with in 32". Works great for me. I mostly shoot trap, sporting every once in awhile. I have 23000 rds through it without any issues other than the ejector retaining pins threading themselves loose. Cleaned it and installed with blue loctite and it hasn't done it again.
  3. I just got my Oakley radar lock glasses with the G30 polarized and G40 photochromic lens as well as the Prizm baseball infield. Only reason for this purchase was a good employee discount that I was offered. I like it a lot better than the other glasses I have been using-smith/Wesson polarized, Arnette polarized, Jackson polarized nemesis safety glasses and Jackson nemesis bronze/camo safety glasses.
  4. If you are looking for an ou, don't take the cheap(Turkish) route. You can find some used Browning Citoris or superposed on gun broker. A used bt99 can be had often for just under $1000, but you can't shoot doubles with it. Doubles are by far the most fun, and challenging.

+1 1100's will last forever if you take care of it.
  6. Try midwest gunworks. They sell unfinished barrels and should be able to do all of the work needed. The unfinished 32" high post barrel set is $500 and needs to be blued and fitted. I've heard a lot of good things about them. They also do adjustable combs

I think the winchester is a re-branded sc-1. Or Belgian browning... Fn makes the guns in Belgium. Not sure, but fn, browning, and winchester are all under the same company now. I couldn't find a brand new winchester 101 pigeon trap, so I opted for the sc-1 and like it because of the sporting stock that's adjustable. Fits me like a glove and shoots flat. I just don't like high shooting guns and winchester don't make an adjustable comb in their sporting model. Well, it's not in their new catalog anyway. The only issue I had so far in about a 1000 rds is that the two rear holes for the adjustable comb base plate came loose and the holes are stripped. A little wood dowels and some super glue and it's as good as new.

The gray ones are over the auction sites as well as the green ones. The blues are out of stock at most places, and the places that have them are asking well over $2000 plus shipping. Most likely, I'll save up for the blue one as my back up.

Recoil isn't much as the barrels are ported, and the gun is about 8lbs. The adjustable comb hardware is quality too. It locks really well. I just wish I was able to find the blue one at the time of purchase.
  10. I like the rubber the best. Grip is good. The wife would rather me not use the skateboard tape because it roughs up my hands...

I just bought one. IMHO, it was worth the price, but I wouldn't pay more than $2300 or so. A lot of retailers are at $2400-2500, but guns america has some for under $2000 plus shipping. It's my first over under that I own, although I have shot a few. I got complements from the browning owners regarding the adjustable comb hardware. It locks solid. I am used to shooting Remington 1100's. I have 5 of em. The recoil is maybe just a little bit more than the 1100, but I can't really tell as it doesn't bother me. I'm about 350 rounds in with it and finally shot my first and second 25 straight registered ata targets. Couldn't ever run 25 straight in over 1300 singles targets shot at, until now... You won't be disappointed. Super easy to clean compared to a semiauto. I believe that the sc1 will do everything a comparable $3000 browning will do. The sc1's sister is the winchester 101 which should be close in price. The only difference I see is that the 101 has some really nice wood on it.

    Trap Gun

Recently bought a 30" 1100 12ga barrel from cabelas. It's the one with the 3 flush rem chokes and not the steel barrel nor the trap barrel. I found that this works perfectly with winchester super x 1 1/8 loads at 1255 fps and almost anything else. It doesn't throw the hulls very far, won't even get clots to the next shooter. Love the 1100's.
  13. You only can punch it out from bottom to top. The hole is tapered so you can't punch it from the top. The pins I got from Fastenal are really tight, I needed to compress one end just to get it started
  14. Wow that's crazy, glad you are ok.
  15. I loaded a dummy round to find max overall length measurements and I got just under 1.200. I will end up loading to 1.800 or less to be on the safe side. Just had a locked up slide on my xdm9 because I loaded some 124gr mg hp bullets a little too long and it was no fun . Not making the same mistake with this new pro comp.
  16. Factory and factory length ammo is 100% so far with factory and .40 metal form mags. 99% with 10mm mags.
  17. After dry firing it about 200+ times from the last time I posted in this thread, it seems that the trigger does feel a little better now. Didn't get a scale yet, but it's more tolerable. Does the trigger need a break in too?how often do I need to take it apart and clean the trigger group? Hope to get down to the range on Sunday to try it again.
  18. Nice, Scott does great work. As soon as I can afford it, will send him my xdm .40 for some trigger work. How did it shoot?
  19. Springer precision! Love the trigger job Scott did on my 5.25 xdm9 as well as their customer service. Very helpful and friendly. Also got his grip tape for the other xdm and the extended mag release. I'm currently running 124's in factory loaded ammo and 124mg hollow points and sr7625 in my reloads at 1.14. No failures yet. I never got around to trying 147's as MG never has the case in stock.
  20. I found the max length the barrel will take is 1.200. I'll be loading to 1.80 and see if I can get it to 100% it would be nice if I can load for both the xdm and the 1911 but I only bought a bunch of the tripp 10mm mags. Will play with it a little more, maybe just need to get used to the trigger. It's nice that it doesn't have the take up like the factory xdm does.
  21. Would it be bad to keep the same loads and just increase over all length?
  22. I am running ammo loaded for my .40 xdm and .40 xd open project. It's at 1.135-1.140. I know it's probably short for the 10mm mags. The .40 factory mags worked fine though.
  23. What's a good scale to get? I heard that the rcbs one that I was going to buy is inconsistent.
  24. Just got one, fired maybe 50 or so rounds. Had mag problems with the tripp 10mm Corey mags only on the first round when loaded to max capacity(9). For some reason with 8 rounds loaded, it fed fine. So far I like it(my first 1911). Trigger pull is heavy, I don't have a scale yet, but guessing its close to 10lbs. No regrets so far. Just need to educate myself on the 1911 platform now. By the way, I got mine from Oak Hill Guns. They got good prices on everything
  25. Alright, thanks for the info. I'll give it a try.
