  1. The payout this year will be by the lewis system in each gun class. Last year year we had a few problems with competitors signing up for lower classes than they should have and then had a lot of trouble trying to move them to a higher class. the problem with using uspsa classes is that static steel really doesnt compare. We have seen older shooters who really can't move to comfortablly any longer win their class because they were able to shoot in a lower class do too uspsa classes. In the near future soon after this years match we are going to try and put a classification system in place which we are working on now based on 4 stages of the speed on steel match. These 4 stages will always be part of the main match and used monthly to assertain a shooters class.cards will be issued to the competitors and based on your thoughts ( the entrants) we will use that in the future. Classes will be m,a,b,c,d.......at that time no gm.... hope this answers your question, if not let me know and i will get you what you need...... regards john oh if you have'nt or want to be in our data base for events,, send us name addresss amd email.......
  2. The staff of World Class Steel is proud to announce that Berreta USA will be the Match Sponsor for this years "Speed on STEEL event on June 9th and 10th, information is available on the website at worldclasssteel.com. Look for the bonus cash prizes in addition to the regular payout which will be donated by our sponsors. Also send an email to the site if you would like to be included in our data base for news of upcoming events. Best Regards for a great season: John Soltesz/ Match Director
  3. hey jim hope it worked out, only don't ditch the shrouds since i paid for them i will want them back,,, got tired of building and donating the plywood ones years ago when i started the indoor action matches with vic thanx for all john
  4. hey bucky: was wondering if you could pass along the info on persons getting arrested for having a gun ( legally), having hollow point bullets ( not in the commision of a crime), and having a picture of a gun in their posession, would love to see it when you have the chance. I think if the shooters take the time to either write or call the state police firearms devision they would get the coorect rumors they need. The office has always been more than hopeful. Also, repeating things like rumor has it, creates more problems.
  5. seems to me that the area director needs to orgainize and hold the vent, not pass it off to som one else and just be there,,,and it shall be each year, seems someone is not doing their job description and in the business world they would be asked to perform or step down. placed a call to uspsa and to dave thomas tonite to discuss our options,,,,
  6. maybe tomorrow we should call uspsa and see if we can hold the match for area 8 w/o the area directors approval and ask uspsa to help us out with what we need as far as specifics,or how about having " its not the area 8 match match", have donations for supplies by area clubs and give back 100% to the shooters,,,,,maybe obrpc will still host
  7. jim, think the only question is , Why the area dierector saw fit to not go with the club that offered to host the match and can offer a truly exciting match to all? and to create something that has never before happened in our area,, such a shame
  8. a very suitable venue was found and stepped up to take on the challenge, as they always do for the shooters, ( namely obrpc) unfortunately our area director did not approve of the terms. seems like the area shooters have one person and only one person to thank for this event being left out of the season. maybe the President should look into exactly what transpired and let the shooters know. A very unfortunate decision to be sure.
  9. heard old birdge might step up to the plate and run it,, if they do expect an awsome match,,,, they do a nice job always,, here's to them and hope they do take it one,, along with all the other matches they run,,,,,

  12. oh well, the june date was picked back in sept and put up on the website, this is the weekend where it will remain, also the knock down match will emain on the 1st weekend in oct , seems like uspsa is always moving dates and really should set a date for each area match and the nationals and leave them there, there are always conflicts, would be much simpler that way and the shooters will easily be able to plan there events, and other match directore could too. thanx for the note though. Where id it this year?
  13. the dates have been set for world class steel's premeir 2006 matches,,,,, 2nd weekend in june is the Speed on Steel match with bonus monies, and with the all day side match events on sunday, and the 1st weekend in oct for the Fields of steel match all the info is at the worldclasssteel.com website, this year promises to be the best matches so far,,,,
  14. we will be announcing the chosen stages for the match in latejan or early feb... thy are the greatest, we have gotten some tremendous feeback from the shooters who have shot them,,,,,,, john soltesz/ match Director: wcsgo to http://www.worldclasssteel.com/gallery/albums.php and you can see a gallery of the official speed on steel stages. The speed on steel match will be seven of the 13 stages posted. Our regular league matches are usually 5 out of the 13 stages. For right now, we are hoping that it's enough variety to support league matches, but few enough stages to make practicing for our big match feasible. I'll ask around and see if we will be annoucing which particular 7 stages will be in the match, and if so, when that will be done.
  15. does anyone know the phone number, address or email of Bruce Macarthur, i think he lives in wisconson, i bought a few of his rifle comps awhile ago, they are the best comps out there, been looking to get some more but don't have his address or if they are still being made,,,, thanx for the help john soltesz here in joisey

  23. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> hi kyle, i don't have a problem with this only that there are a few matches here that you might need clarification on, 1 match held in march is called fields of steel and is a psa style knockdown steel match, the match is being noved to october 1st 2005 and will remain in the fall the following years in the future, the second match is our world class steel shootout match which is " steel challenge format" which we re-named this year to world class shootout, which is always last three years held in may, and which i think will be finally called SPEED ON STEEL, i think by combining them all we will have a problem with shooters not realizing which match we are talking about. looking foward to your ideas on this subject,, thanx john soltesz, match director
