  2. I am gonna start loading .40 long for my new limcat single stack when it gets here next month. I have 8 lbs of WST and have been wondering what to order 180 or 200 grain blue bullets. Would anyone else care to share some WST loads with 180 and 200's and give their thoughts? Thanks

  9. I load 4.6 of solo 1k with 180 bear creeks. And my edge is a dream to clean thakes me about 10 minutes from start to finish, I switched to this powder only for .40 because it is so clean with zero leading. I can shoot two or three matches before i feel the need to clean my gun.
  10. I had this great experience happen to me for all six stages yesterday at a local uspsa match. I started to feel a cold coming on midweek and questioned going shooting on Saturday and i am glad i did. I had no preconceived notions of "shooting fast" or finishing well. I got to the first stage walked it two or three times and was ready to shoot. Just before the buzzer i told my self to have fun and relax and just go shoot. My mind went blank their was no other thought than get to my gun and run the course as i had planned i was not rushing and did not feel rushed. I was able to duplicate this for every stage it was amazing each time i was afraid that i would lose that "zen" but i blocked it out of my mind and just performed without thought i just saw the targets and pulled the trigger i was able to call shots for the first time with total trust. their was no thought other than some great focus on what was in the moment. I had total clarity for six stages and shot the best match of my life. Hope i am able to harness what i discovered and continue this extreme clarity in shooting.
  11. There seems to be a commom theme here. Most people started with the glocks, m&ps and others then ended up buying a 2011. I did the exact same thing. Save your money to get a STI edge in .40 you will be glade you did. Dawson percision makes very nice and reliable 2011's.
  12. Im just guessing that you are in the military, if so call dawson percision. They give a very very good military discount and you can get the super tuned edge hand tuned by dave dawson for alot less than most other builders.. Thats what sold me, a gun guy who supports the troops.
  13. I agree I havent had much luck either, I am switching to N320 and 180gr bear creeks, Lots of good data out there for that. I Have talked with a very vetran shooter who recomended to start wit 180gr bear creek an 3.8 gr of titegroup @ 1.18 @160ish power factor. I will try that when i run out of N320. If i can find any data for the 200's ill let you know.
  14. Looking to load for .40 STI edge with 200 gr bear creek moly bullets an n320 or titegroup. I will be loading to 1.18. Thanks for any help
  15. Hi everyone, I am getting a new sti edge and was wondering what your experiance is with hard chrome, is it worth it? does it glare in bright sunlight? I would like some advice from people who have used either or both. Just would like to know the goods and bads of both. Thanks to everyone who replies.
  16. I found a dealer in my home town that was able to get one for me in a week. And I had been waiting for months I can call and see if he can get more... just let me know I love mine shoots fast and very accurate with slugs
  17. Cool thanks, I am not quite sure who benny is though... I know that is probably a sin but I am kinda new here yet, any amplifying info would help. Thanks
  18. I am looking into the mossberg 930 Jm pro and am assuming that they use the same chassis as the 930 spx if so has anyone adapted a tec loader system to fit this gun? Any info would be helpful. I have seen Jerrys 930 with the arredondo chute on it. Thanks.....
  19. Has anyone put together a an open gun from a STI short block kit? I am just curious what is left to do for actual machine work. I know it says "short chambered" in the add. But other than that it looks the average amature gun tinker could complete it. If anyone has any experiance please share. Could one of these kits turn into a money pit? or is it a fun and educational tool for a guy who likes to do stuff with his own two hands. Midway sells the kit for $1100-1300 here is what it says..... STI does the major component fitting, you add the fire control parts, sights and final finish. CNC machined slide has full contact, parallel rails that are carefully matched to the grip frame for superior fit and reliability. Air gauged, stainless steel, button-rifled bull barrel, with link, pin and slide stop is carefully fitted to ensure consistent lockup. Short chambered. Full-length recoil spring guide improves reliability. Frames feature Wilson/Nowlin ramps, checkered front strap, triggerguard and mainspring housing. Includes composite/titanium match trigger and complete magazine catch. Slides feature EDM-cut breech face, lowered, scalloped ejection port, front and rear cocking serrations. Includes 10-round magazine. 5.5 .38 Super Kit: Supplied with installed, 5-port compensator blended to slide. Standard length dust cover on frame; classic slide with no sight cuts. .40 S&W/.45 ACP Kit: Long and wide dust cover on frame. Unique slide cut for Bo-Mar BMCS rear and 60° x .300" dovetail front sight.
  20. Thanks to all that replied, So here is what i found out. Gun runs great with out the cmore mount. Gun will cycle all kinds of ammo factory - 9mm major. I took the cmore mount off and recorded my ejection pattern. 1 in 15 would go straight up or over the left side of the gun i also watched it very carefully. So to make sure i could replace the big cmore with the micro dot mount I took the cmore off and cut the back of the mount off where the micro dot mount ends gun ran 100% for 200 rounds of all types of ammo. Bottom line i am getting a SJC micro dot mount and a STS, or fastfire just need to do some research and see which is the better option. Thanks again, Oh and my chrono is on the way.......
