  1. Everyone who shot the Single Stack Nationals was a current USPSA member. They all either signed up (renewed) at check-in or presented a receipt showing they were current.
  2. Since I do the scoring for the match; I ran Dave as Major just to see what would have happened, Mike1005 is spot on with the numbers. Blake's gun was overwieght, something like 43.4. Robbie also finished second to Jerry in the REvolver Nationals and Robbie was then declared the aggregate winner of the 2013 Classic Nationals with a crystal trophy. Videos of the match are excellent and much appreciated.
  3. I will have everything set up to start at 4:00 PM. As I understand it, you can look but not play on the stages. Technically the range is closed. Staff is shooting the match today (Wednesday).
  4. Microtel is the match hotel. Registration end at 7:00 PM
  5. golf carts have been allowed for those with valid medical reasons. Contact Richard Heinie, he is the MD and will need to OK it.
  6. Match fee was $155, or about $100 less than any other National venue.
  7. Round Count is 208, plus Chrono and misses.
  8. My goal for Tuesday is to actually get to Quincy on American Airlines. My goal for Wednesday is to get all the shooters materials together My goal for Thursday is to get all the scores entered for the ROs and Registration done without an incident. My goal for Friday -- see the above, but scores for shooters. My goal for the match is to have the score posted for verificaion within 30 minutes of the last shot being fired. My next goalis to get home to Seattle Sunday night and get ready for Jury duty on Monday. Top goal, to have a good time and see some friends I have not seen in a year.
  9. Country Inn & Siutes, Quincy IL. Do a google and you'll come up with a website
  10. With EZWinScore I can do a batch look up of the USPSAs database and it will update both my database and the registered shooters in the match. I will be doing that in mid-April once the USPSA runs the classifiers for that month. At registration you will be asked to verify all this information, PLEASE LISTEN TO WHAT WE ARE ASKING YOU, so that we have as accurate information as possible. If there is a discrepancy in the information you will need to prove your case by presenting a current USPSA membership card with your classification. Also remember that if you shoot in late March to be prepared for you classifier not to be included in April's run since many clubs are not too fast sending that data in with the funds. I will also be posting updated information on classifications on the Squad List of the site (1911ssc.org) immediatley after I get it so you can check there in April just before the match.
  11. The match is now toally full and we are functioning off of a waiting list. The website won't reflect that the match is full until early next week, but it is full. If you find yourself in need of dropping out of the match, PLEASE LET US KNOW AS SOON AS POSSIBLE so that we can contact shooters on the wiating list. If you are on the waiting list and get into the match, you will not be able to request a squad, you will be offered the slot that is open.
  12. Saturday was technically full by the 6th of January. Friday has 15 spots left, but a packet of apps is on the way, so I am assuming that Friday is actually full, as well. So, in 12 days we went from zero to full. Impressive response.
  13. Yea, Why can't we increase the size of the match at Barry. I worked the North American Championship there with 24 stages. I worked the Millennium Match, the Pan American Match and others that were larger. It is all a matter of staffing and can you generate the number of shooters to justify the increase.
  14. Make that 26 spots left on Friday. We're getting people who wanted Saturday, signed up and found out it was full and are now willing to shoot on Friday.
  15. Make that 31 and they are going fast. Website is updated, so check your information closely.
  16. I will be updating the sqauds on the website when I have new information (applications) to add to the list. I get the apps in bundles after the match fees have been processed.
  17. No one has received confirmation yet. I just got the applications at 2:00 p.m. today. I have entered what I have and can say with confidence that Saturday is now full. If you go to the 1911ssc.org site you can see the squads up to this point. There are still a few blanks on site for Saturday, but a phone call to my boss can account for all the blanks. Those who have signed up for Saturday and that are too late, will be called and offered a spot on Friday. If that does not work, we will put you on a list in the event there are cancellations. Confirmation emails will be going out tomorrow (Jan. 9) and hard copies on the 10th. I'm tired of typing in your names
  18. We are now accepting applications to shoot in the 2008 Single Stack Nationals. You can fill out and the print off an application by going to 1911ssc.org. Squads are limited to 11 shooters, 125 shooters per day. Staff shoots thursday, competition begins Friday (entire match is shot in one day) and the next batch of 125 comeptitors is Saturday. Last year Saturday fill up in two weeks, so don't delay.
  19. OK, the information seems to be leaking out. There is a website for the match where you can get the registration form. It is in PDF and can be filled on line, but cannot be saved. It must be printed and then sent to Heinie Specialty. WE ARE NOT ACCEPTING OR PROCESSING ANY REGISTRATION FORMS UNTIL JAN 4TH. You will also be able to view squad list, when I have enough to populate the list, book your motel and gather virtually all the information you should need about the match. Thursday is for Staff, no exceptions will be made. Sunday is a make up day if the famous Quincy weather were to act up. For any questions that you have about the match that you can't find on the website, feel free to contact me.
  20. We don't publish the stage diagrams, except in the match book. You will need to find someone with a match book who can copy them or scan them. Mine is at home and don't have a scanner.
  21. Gary, Your right. It is not the USPSA I would blame for the changes in atmosphere and potential changes I worry about. If I conveyed that thought it was not intentional and not what I believe. I believe it is more of an issue of communication and expectation. I suspect normal "growing pains" associated with moving a match from a Big club match to a National venue. I guess my problem (and it is mine) is that the Nationals venue draws a small percentage of shooters who are"high maintenance" when it comes to match administration. That is not the USPSA fault. If I really boil all down to one things, it is the prize table situation and what it seems to bring out in some people. That has drawn these shooters, drives these shooters and is the source of most of my concerns (Flex, I guess I just like the idea of one National match for cost reasons for the USPSA, and have one National Champion, not 6 based on divisions, it cheapens the title IMHO). The only thing I can place on the USPSA is that they don't seem to address the prize table issue and they are the only one that truly can. Having multiple National matches force multiple National qualilty prize tables. Gary, the rest of this I am trusting people like you to do the "right thing". I really enjoy the SS matches and the new division. But everything other division that USPSA has created had morphed into something that it was not really intended to be, an equipment race (at least after the institution of Limited Division). We are seeing it in Production now and I don't want to see that in SS. Your diligence on the rules and your patient responses to forum members has been exemplary. I can only hope that you can continue that or the future BOD will honor that thinking. As you can attest at this years match, a huge single stack magwell appeared and that may very mark our fits step down the slippery slope of another equipment race. I am not opposed to innovation and equipment evolving. But I like the idea of a division that remains pure and I see SS as a possible case in point. Maybe I'm just locked up too much in Stats & Registration to see how much fun the shooters are having. I may be totally off-base. I can say that I have never worked with better ROs than we have had at the SSC, or a better Match Director or Range Master. It is working with them that really keeps me coming back.
  22. Flex, While the results would look the same the match would be substantially different. And if we all compete in one huge division why do you need a $4,000 gun. Why can't I compete in one huge division but only care about where I finished in Limited, or L10, or Production, or Revolver, or Single Stack. Why does there have to be a different match with seperate prize tables. Why can't we live with being 65th overall but top Limited? There was a year (2205) that shooters who won their class won a SA GI and if they were shooting a Springfield product they could upgrade that to one of the cusotm 1911. I believe there was enough for every class winner. This year the top 3 got custom guns and by the time you got to A class there was not much left in comparison. We are attracting more people who are only happy when they win something big, rather than finding the enjoyment in shooting the match. I can't tell you how many emails I get during registration wanting to know what the prize table is and how it is going to be awarded, what "gifts" are going to be given out at registration and how much are ther worth. Older guys bitching about having to compete with younger guys and afraid they can't keep up, and if we are not going to give out prized for Senior or Super Senior they won't come back next year. It is not many but enough that I fear the match is changing into something that it was not, and really don't want it to become. Sounds like burn out. I love this match and have worked in 11 years, and have done many USPSA Nationals and IPSC International matches. Something needs to change and I was hoping it would not be the match.
  23. Actually, no. There would be one National Championship with all categories represented, though the end result could look very similar if not the same. It would save money for the USPSA, but might cost money indirectly due to manufacturers being less excited about the sport and their exposure to the "masses. It would certianly cut down on the prizes and you would not see class winners getting near as much; but then again why should they expect to some grand prize anyway. I think the beauty of the Single Stack Classic (before USPSA involvement) was that a shooter competed with TGO with virtually the same equipment and could really measure himself/herself against the best.
  24. Gary, and to whomever may care, The number of 40 new shooters at the SSC was for 2006, we added another 33 shooters (first time USPSA) for the the 2007 match. So that is about 73 shooters in two years and who knows what 2008 holds. Since no one asked me , I would vote for abolition of all divisions, save one IT GOES BANG WHEN I PULL THE TRIGGER division. Everything else is a category. I'd do away with prizes, they have come close to ruining our sport. Let me also state the other side of the equation. I'm not sure I like the USPSA involvement in the SSC. It is a great match, but the last two years we have seen more wannabes, whiners, Range Lawyers and prize hounds that all the previous years combined. It takes a little of the fun out of the match. I'm excited about the potential for an additional day and more new shooters, but it also changes the atmostphere of the match. I guess all things change and all children grow up. Gary, again, thanks for all the work, the dedication and the patience. Bdavis
