  1. What?! It sounds like they had a choice. I can understand if they didn't have a choice... as in the range was already booked on the other weekends. But if they had a reasonable ability to have it on another weekend... pretty lame.
  2. Yeah I subscribe to that channel. When I first saw it I thought the title of the video was trollish. Their recent videos and titles were trollish. Anyways I thought the video should be called: If you don't have a good trigger press then aiming is "useless." But that won't get the views.
  3. I have about a 1000 69 Nosler CC's and H4895. For those that worked up loads... what charge gave you the best result accuracy wise? what charge weight did you choose? What did you think/find was your max charge? Type of chamber you have? Primers, cases, OAL you used etc? Thanks.
  4. Great. Then you have the capability to tell us if there is any difference in performance between the two... dented vs. undented.
  5. Some long-haired hippie told me that it will be 3 weeks after SMM3G in April. 14ish. During Easter weekend. Supposed to be at Boulder, Nevada. The pro something range. This is coming from a hippie. So take it with some salt.
  6. I want to load up some major nine for my SS 9MM for spinners. Want to load them long so I can differentiate them from regular nine and I think it's just safer. Want it to be 10 rounds. Floor plate easily removable for easy cleaning. What magazines would you recommend? Thanks.
  7. Well I would think this would be easy to see if it's BS or not. Just go to the range with a standard spring and buffer and shoot a couple of groups with and without the JP SCS.
  8. Yeah there's an old thread that basically had the same problem. IIRC the way to solve it was to use a seating die (match or not) that didn't mark it or just modify/chamfer your seating stem. If this is for an AR... next time you are at the range get a loaded round and look at the bullet looking at it all around. Then load it to the magazine... pull the charging handle all the way back and load it normally. Eject the unshot round and inspect your bullet again looking at the entire circumference. Typically you will see gouges on the bullet from the typical AR's feed ramp. My complete JP upper gouges the bullet. And yet it still shoots sub MOA.
  9. What markings are you talking about? Are you taking about that ring around the bullet? Are you using a Lee seating die?
  10. The Dawson comes in various heights and widths. One says it is "DX/Classic" and the other one just says pinned. They both look like they are pinned (which my 617 is... pinned). I don't know which one works for my pistol.
  11. I ended picking up a 4" 617 (new recent manufacture). I want to get speed loaders for it. Which ones should I get/look for? It shoots high for me and need and a taller front sight. Dawson has these two sights. Which style would fit my 617? https://dawsonprecision.com/s-w-dx-classic-fiber-optic-front-sights/ https://dawsonprecision.com/s-w-pinned-fiber-optic-front-sights/ Also I want to get a trigger "spring kit". I'm not having any luck with "617" searches at Midway. Which revolver model(s) use the same trigger springs? Thanks.
  12. Most of the shooters on this thread are in America. Most shoot 3 gun. Not shotgun only.
  13. I don't know about that. Wasn't Colorado first with the 10 round thing? Anybody can use Mary Jane in CO? Can't do that in Calicornia. The California hippies are following what Colorado hippies are doing.
  14. I think if you have no problems with the standard extractors... keep on running them. Me personally I went through several extractors several years ago with my .40. It seemed like they lasted 5K rounds and then they would lose tension. I don't have that problem with the Aftecs. Low round count 1911's I still use the standard extractor. I have Aftecs on my high use competition pistols.
  15. Looking for a DA revolver in .22 LR. I want it partially as a revo trainer. Kit gun. Also want to be able to scope it and use it for "survival" purposes. Local gunstore has in stock: Ruger GP100 5.5" Ruger SP101 4" S&W 617 6" Knowing that I want to be able to put a scope on it, which revolver would you recommend I get? Just looking at what Midway sells, the SP101 doesn't appear to have any readily available non gunsmith mounting options. I'm not seeing one for the 617 either. Thanks.
  16. I'm asking about the plated X-Tremes. Also I guess how would plated 45 Rainier or Berry's fare? Or any of the coated 45's out there?
  17. Looking to load up some practice 45 super to duplicate my expensive load of 185 gr Barnes lead free @1300 fps. Has anybody loaded up 45 cal X-Tremes to that type velocity? How did it fare? Thanks.
  18. Also if the lube wasn't consistent (in a given range) that could also cause an increase in the variation. If some were harder to take out because of the amount of lube... from what I've seen those tend to be longer than the rest. If it's tight either the body or the neck is being stretched out to more than normal when they are taken out.
  19. I would say that's a normal variation for mixed fired (1x, 2x, 3x, ... etc.) brass with different head stamps. If you want less trimmed OAL variation with the cases you would need to sort with the same head stamp and if you want it to be tighter even more try using brass with also the same amount of firings. You can also try trimming/holding it a fraction of a second more and see if that helps. With my hoser ammo I wouldn't even bother with the above.
  20. I use 1X or new brass for major matches. For local matches... whatever. I'm not going to use no paperclip. That would suck all the fun out of it. Also my local match hoser loads are downloaded. You can try using 1X for your hotter long range loads. Use pick ups for the downloaded hoser loads. Hopefully the downloaded loading is less likely to split the cases.
  21. Lee 2-die sets with a FL sizing die are like $20. I have 2-3 Lee FL dies for .223 and .308. Whenever I get a stuck case I just pop out the die with the stuck case and stick in another die. Then when I run out of dies, or whenever I feel like it, I use the stuck case remover to clear the dies out.
  22. Man you fooled me. From the comments you made in this thread, your last post doesn't make any sense. It seems like you are gloating.
  23. When I load rifle I lube the die. I spray very liberally one case. I insert the case maybe 1/6 of the way. Take it out of the die and turn the case maybe 1/2 a turn while it is in the shellplate and stick it again 1/6 of the way. If I need to, I spray the case again. I keep on sticking it partially in... turning the case... and spraying until the case is fully sized and the die is fully "lubed". Then I size the lubed cases normally. If it starts getting tight again, I do the whole lubing of the die again. As for the stuck case... you don't have a stuck case remover? http://www.midwayusa.com/s?userSearchQuery=stuck+case+remover I have the RCBS and it works.
  24. I can't tell if that's for real or not. Do all stage designs suck in CA as well? There you go.
