Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I use to work at a Suzuki dealership and found their version of thread lock to work very well. It dries quite a bit faster and very user friendly about prepping the screw holes. 3 hours total dry time. Makes for a quick fix at a match. Also I second the soldering iron technic, hold it to the screw (if it protrudes through use the threaded end) I take my snap on butane soldering iron with me to big matches. Some how I always find something to do.
  2. I second the Limcat Transformers, quick screw tensioning and any position you like. Also no spacers for different mag sizes. I waited along time for these, Johnny leaked this design to me way earlier so I would not buy the Guga's. I know one thing they will take a 340 lb man diving into the prone position at area 3 and still function. They do have many dents from the gravel in them
  3. I have one of those, It came from doug also. I also have it on the same Pardini that he shoots in the Masters. It has been a great scope holds zero I only shoot it once a year and it is always dead on at the 50 meter plates.
  4. I like the Trijicon alot, i have had mine over year with several area matches plus local stuff and about 10,000 rounds. Still running like a top and on the same batteries! P.S. it took a hell of a ride out of my holster in a hotel room on the tile floor with no damage. The STS is nice looking and feeling just wish it was lower. I did have a regular C-more for 5 years on this gun, I will not go back.
  5. I have to put a plug in for Matt Cheely. I bought one of his limited guns on this forum, its a great pistol! I met him at Area 5, he is a super nice guy. Btw did mention he can shoot?
  6. Man missed the post. I have one of the first sets of limcat transformers, I love them. The ghost are really nice but the one thing the limcats have over the rest, any position you want! As the pouches come around your hip you can rotate them flatter if that make sense? My front one are straight out and start to come flatter as I get to my hip bone. Also you can rotate them around from horizontal to vertical or any were in between. The other thing is any mag you want no spacers required, from my single stack to my big stick. You just twist the screws to tighten for running or loosen them way up for standing reload stages. And lastly I did buy them no gift or sponsorship by Johhny.
  7. You might look at Limcats new pouches, they are called Transformers. I like mine, and they do fit my single stack all the way up to my SVI big stick. Just turn the screws and no spacers required. Forward facing, standard, or anything in between.
  8. I have never owned a J-Point before but I have sold the Burris in my store. The one thing that I encounter more than anything is if the Fast Fire has the on off switch stay away from it. To many shooters have the disappearing dot under recoil. The quick fix is to silicone the switch on and use the cap to save the battery. I personally use the trijicon on my open gun and love it. I have not put a battery in it all season, its still strange to me how they are on all the time. Good luck
  9. I bought mine from Double Alpha, no problem at all. You just have to pay their import tax. I cant remember how much it was, but it was around 20 dollars extra. Had it in 4 days. I would recommend them to anyone! Fast and very helpful.
  10. I like to turn off the muffs and turn up the focus!
  11. I ROed Area 5 and bought Banana Boat sport spf/uvb 50. I didnt get sun burned at all. The best thing I found about it was you wanted it on your hands, its so sticky its better than my Progrip. I couldnt figure out what the heck was so sticky until the second day, I applied it the next morning and dang sticky, sticky!
  12. Kingman, Arrendondo drilled mine for me before he sent it out. Just told him what the on center was, and how many holes. I think it cost 20 dollars to get it done. I figure if he messed it up I would not be out a mount! The other thing you should tell them before they send it out is what screw size you are using, mine came with to small a screw and I had to rechamfer the hole for a bigger size screw!
  13. Its a different hole spacing, had to have the new mount drilled for it! Its called an awesome pattern. Drill it on .330 center hole to hole. When I bought my gun my smith never even asked if I wanted 5 or 6 holes. Go figure, replacing it wasnt as hard as I first thought. Just had to get one with no holes and punch it out. Here is my new one.
  14. I just shot up 2000 rounds of Armscor 38SC brass, no problems. It is the same dimensions as my Starline. It is head stamped AP 38 super RL, stands for rimless. I was giving about 30 a thousand less.
  15. One that I refer to is Gunsmithing Pistols & Revolvers by Patrick Sweeney. It has two sections on the 1911 touches on tools and refinishing also. Circa 1998 I think.
