  1. I figured it out. First off there was a little bit if debris in the gun that was making mags stick. So I cleaned the gun (inside and out) and my mags. That helped but there are two mags that are still giving me fits. That said I believe I'm just gonna have to tune the mags. I'm still changing to a DP Posi-lock mag catch, just because I believe they're better quality than what I have now. When I get home from work I'm going to measure the mags with my caliper and attempt to make the necessary adjustments.
  2. I've been reading a little online about the mag "over inserting". My followers are way up on my feed ramp. That would lead me to think that could be the issue. I'm gonna buy a Dawson posilock mag catch and play with tuning the followers. I already dremeled one on the front a bit and the mag is dropping free pretty consistently.
  3. It is an STI grip. Brand new, stippled and undercut, no cracks. I think it's my mags. I can put dummy rounds (tried 1-5) in them and the drop like a champ. I think the front of my follower is hanging up somehow.
  4. Have you tried the known good mag catch in the gun that's having the issue?Just did that. It's apparently not the mag catch. When I insert the mag I hear 2 clicks. Where as with the gun that's working I only hear 1 (unless the other just isn't is clearly audible). Don't know if that has any bearing on anything but it seems like you'd only hear one click, the insertion of the mag catch into the notch on the mag.
  5. Thanks. My fiend (Bobby Carver) is sending me a JP mag catch. Not sure if it'll fix my issue but its worth a try (especially when it's free). Probably wouldn't hurt me to clean and lube the mags too. They're not really dirty but they definitely could use a cleaning.
  6. No, it's multiple mags. They do drop every once in a while but they usually hang.
  7. I'm having issues with one of my STI's. mags aren't dropping free, they're sticking. They don't do this in my other STI. Would a new mag catch fix this issue? Anything I should check before starting to put in new parts?
  8. I actually got rid of the recoilmaster myself. I installed a one piece STI guiderod, Dawson aluminum shock buff, STI reverse plug and I'm running a 9# ISMI recoil spring. Runs like a top using the same 9mm major load I listed above.
  9. I have a factory Matchmaster and a factory trubor. It didn't take long to figure out they both needed to be flat topped for use with just about any quality mount out there. My TruBor is on its way back from my smith after being flat topped. My MM will be sold to find a custom that'll be tri-topped. STI does not flat top the slides on the guns you mentioned but they should. Regardless of that though I believe this optic should be built with ALL open guns in mind. Make it just a little high to accommodate round top slides and frames that've been drilled a little lower than most.
  10. I'm gonna use a CZ 75B stainless.
  11. Thanks for the info Dean. I'm really liking the looks of these grips. I think I'm sold!!!
  12. Any updates on these builds and/or grips? I'm considering having a custom 5" built by my smith soon and I was thinking about using a P/T grip myself.
  13. 7.1gr WAC, 1.150 OAL, 124gr MG CMJ. 171pf through my old 17.
  14. I am currently running a 4.15" STI MatchMaster.currently as in until my TruBor gets back from Blackdog Gunworks. Buy a full size and save yourself a headache. They flip less, the blast is more manageable, and most importantly...they make major easier.
  15. I pretty much know what I'm gonna do with the gun now, my only worry is I'm still not sure whether or not using the CZ Custom hammer is legal for production using a 75B. I dont thibk itll matter locally, but it could bump me to open in a big match if its not production legal. Now for the rig. I'm thinking CR speed hi torque belt, Bladetech DOH holster, and Ghost pouches. Anyone see any issues with this rig or have any suggestions? Does anyone use Ghost pouches? Are they any good for production? They appear to be built well and they're legal. Opinions?
  16. Thanks!!! I figure this one will be seeing the custom shop soon. This was my first ever CZ so I wanted to go with the classic (75b). I plan to test this gun once customized and if it lives up to my expectations I'll most likely be buying another one later. However my next one will be a SP01 Shadow (I want one with the full length dust cover and one without). I love the "bling" this gun has. It'll look even "blingier" once I add the red or blue aluminum grips.
  17. Thanks for the help guys. I do reload and I only use Federal primers. 2# SA isn't a necessity just a rough guesstimate of what I'm wanting. I'd like to get the trigger as light as possible. And as much as I would like to do the work myself right now I just don't have the time. I used to work on all my own guns but since I'm working two jobs there's just not enough time in the day.Anyone have a link to CGW's website? I googled it and came up empty.
  18. Well I made a decision and last night I bought my first CZ, a 75b stainless. I want to set it up for USPSA production. I'm thinking of getting a trigger & action job, new grips, competition (FO) sights, and I want to have a short reset trigger installed. I've been looking at Automatic Accuracy and CZ Custom to do my work. Who should I go with? Also, can I do everything I want and still be production legal? I would like to get my SA pull down to 2 pounds or less, my DA pull down as far as possible. Is this gonna be possible? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  19. There are few other differences, but the 75B can be tricked out to be really special shooters. Action job, short reset, sights, grips. Well Stuart after doing some research and after taking my own preferences into account I ended up going with a 75b stainless. I'll be in touch sometime soon concerning the 4 modifications you mentioned (sights, short reset, action job, and grips). I do have a couple more questions though. Can I do a "race trigger job" (action and short reset) and keep the gun production legal? What will I be looking at in pounds of pull SA? DA? Will I need the slide cut to install an adjustable rear and FO front sight? I've been eyeing a few sets of grips too. I guess as long as I don't add finger grooves I can use any of them and remisin production legal correct?
  20. Nice Glock AT. Cabelas has had WAC in stock quite a bit lately, Charleston and Louisville locations.
