  1. Can someone please post a pic showing me how to modify my Grams follower to keep the slide from locking back? I'm also having a problem with my last round not feeding but its my understanding this single modification will handle both issues. Is that correct? Thanks in advance. (I'm sure you guys get tired of this question, I DID try the search function but couldn't find a reliable answer.)
  2. No, I'm gonna shoot my 17 there. For obvious reasons I've not mentioned this yet. I am going to be shooting this in every USPSA match from after the Pro-Am to this time next year. One gun, one division, for one year. That's the only way to get where I'm trying to get skill wise.
  3. I don't have a caliper that'll measure mine it's so close, and I have dial and digital calipers here. It's basically touching. Doesn't matter now anyway. My RTS mount will be here tomorrow.
  4. Best advice on a gun forum EVER. Too many people shoot "what the pro's" shoot or what their friends say is good or whatever. Shoot what YOU enjoy and what YOU do best with. (Unless it a hi-point, don't shoot that LOL)
  5. I run a 9 major G34 in open, but I've ran one with minor loads for GSSF in the past. Using a 10# Wolff recoil spring and WWB 115gr Q-loads I had good results. Bobby suggests WWB 115gr or PMC 124gr for factory ammo, but you should get good results with any decent factory ammo. I'm not a big fan of the LWD frame. I've heard alot of complaints on them but I have yet to test for myself so when it comes to that I digress.

    Thumbrest

What's the thread pitch on the pin? I wonder if you could thread a Carver thumbrest on a pin of the same size that was internally threaded.. Hmmmm.......
  7. I was reading the thread a lout the. Cheely RTS mount on CCGunworks vendor forum a minute ago. Someone asked if the RTS mount would work without the slide being tri-topped. I think I'm gonna go that route. Can anyone confirm that? Anyone using a RTS mount with a round top slide?
  8. After reviewing it and checking it out I 100% agree. But instead of crying about it I'm gonna make some changes. I'm gonna order a Cheely RTS mount today. I've got an extra one laying around. And frankly after looking at it I'm not sure the 90 degree is for me. I have a good measurement equivalent now for the clearance. Distance from slide to CMore is roughly 1/3 the thickness of a credit card. As Mr. Vrooom said, too close.
  9. I don't have near that much clearance. I'm gonna shoot it and see if there are any issues. I'll pill the CMore off and check for rubbing after firing a mag or so.
  10. I'm sure I'll have the same issue at first. I plan on sending mine to a smith next month to have a racker installed on the right. I'm gonna need a trigger job too. I was thinking about calling Bobby at FGW and seeing if would do it. Anyone know if he's doing that type of work right now? Or is he only doing custom builds?
  11. Hey Kosh thanks bud. Mine is about the same, I have to turn it just right in the light to see the gap but its there. It's so close I couldn't get a pic lighted well enough to show it. Too close? It's not hitting, just close.
  12. Let's put it like this. It's hard to squeeze a sheet of paper through the gap. That's how close it is.
  13. I'll post a pic. It's close, REAL close. It's not hitting at any point when I pull the slide back though.
  14. Thanks. I guess I'm just not used to someone building to such exact tolerances. Awesome mount Matt Cheely!!!! Makes me wonder if the guy is capable of this with a simple mount what must his guns be like. I think I'm gonna have to find out for myself early next year. I apologize for all the stupid questions BTW. I guess I win the "2013 nervous noobie" award. LOL
  15. So I added an Aftec extractor to my Matchmaster today along with a Cheely Setback 90 degree mount. I'm pretty new too all this and I just wanna check a couple things with you guys. First does this look normal? Second, how close is too close when it comes to optics? I put the mount on and I CAN see light between the CMore and Slide but not much of it. I appreciate any help given, I'm new to 2011's and I just want to be sure everything's good to go with the mount before I break out the loctite. Thanks in advance.
  16. Thanks 424D57. My Cheely setback and everything else will be today. That relieving to know that someone else is running the exact same setup. At least now I KNOW the mount will fit.
  17. Thanks Bill. I sent Matt an email yesterday and I dont think he got back to me yet (dont quote me on that, might be in a spam folder or something) but I know how busy the guy is and I didn't wanna hound him with constant messages and questions. I pretty much figured out everything I needed to by asking a BUNCH of questions on here. Didn't matter anyway, the only mount I was gonna use was a Cheely. I figure if I have issues with it either Chuck at SC or Matt himself will let me know what to do.
  18. Just ordered a Cheely setback 90 degree mount, RHT thumbrest, and some extra screws (jic) along with an Aftec 9mm extractor. Thanks for the help everybody. I'll post a pic when I get everything put together.
  19. Thanks again EKU. I'm going right side racker when I get one installed. I'm gonna get a larger racker so I have no problems grabbing it when I need to.
  20. This thread is summed up in one word.....WIN. Nice work OG.
  21. I'm going to order a new CMore mount today for my Matchmaster open gun. I want a 90 degree mount but I've read on here some mounts sit too low for use with a round top slide. Anyone know one that'll work? Do I need to order longer screws if I'm using a RHT thumbrest? Also I understand I'm going to have to heat the screws to get them loose. Some guys say they heat them with a soldering iron. Would a wood-burning tool suffice for this application? Thanks for the help.
  22. I'll take the old one off your hands. I should have a couple hundred bucks laying sound somewhere. LOL Beautiful guns bro. Enjoy em!!!
  23. Let me just add that I now COMPLETELY understand why guys are willing to pay $4-$5000 for a custom gun. Like it or not that's what you're gonna pay to play in the open division if you want a gun that runs. LOL
  24. Thanks for all your help recently EKU, you just answered all my questions. I think I'm gonna get my racker cut right side just to make it easier since my hopes are that I won't need it unless a stage starts unloaded anyway. One more question then I'll stop asking questions for tonight. Are you sure the Cheely mount will fit properly on a round top slide like my MM has? Are you using a round top or flat (tr-ttopped) slide? Once I get the answer to this ill be able to order my parts..........thank god. LOL
