  1. Pros had 1 extra stage spread over an extra 1/2 day, and many were at the side matches. I know because I was taking lots of notes at the Benelli and LaRue sides by watching those guys. Now, the pros and others that didn't have time were the ones busting their butts as ROs and match staff. Those guys not only missed much of the side matches, they shot 8 stages in 1 day, then worked the next 3!! They were a key part of the success of the match. So, while I join everyone in thanking the sponsors, I also give a huge thanks to the staff that pulled it off. You guys/gals ROCK!! Thanks, Robert I second that... true the RO,s and Staff did Rock and worked hard. i had several friends that shot pro, and at the end of each day we would talk about the day. and i was going by what they said. i guess they were in a large squad, i got the impression that each time they finished a stage it was time to be at the next one. and i know they were disapointed they did not get to try the cave. but they had a great time both at the match and giving me hell about shooting AM. The cave was figuratively and literally the coolest side match. Justin (from Crimson Trace), if you're reading, bring extra ammo this year!!

    X-5 Mags

Yep , Greg Cote is the place to go. I use the P226 18rd with the +2 basepad to get 20+1 in my X5 Competition. They also fit my P228 and a standard P226 , of course.

    Holster for x5

I use a Blade-tech DOH for my X5 Competition, that works very well.

  5. Great tutorial! Almost 4 years later nd still being leveraged. I think I will experiment on my cheap AR grip.
  6. I blew the entire match on that stage. -First stage of the day. -The sun was in my eyes. -My front sight clamp screw had backed out and was touching the stupid prop on the back of the car throwing off my shots. -Can't think of anything else right now but I'm sure I had other excuses at the time. At least when I was done crashing Bryan pointed out my loose front sight problem. Pro next year, can't wait. David E. Almost the same here, Bryan had to point out that my muzzle brake was against the 2x4 port. Man you should have seen the wood fly in the video. Oh yeah, then I timed out and let the pistol targets go unharmed. All after warning my squad not to get hung up on the rifle targets!!! Ah, the best laid plans....

  8. Some have suggested that all returning shooters get an automatic invitation for the 2nd annual. Others argue that it is not fair to those who couldn't make last year due to schedule conflicts. An alternative would be to give an automatic bid to the top 75 ( or pick a number) finishers from each Pro and Am. May or may not be fair to do for 2012, but would sure give this year's shooters an added bonus/incentive. Just an idea. Either way, this AM (in last year's top 75. :-)). Will have a finger on the mouse at midnight. Can't wait!
  9. I think you may be mistaken. I could have sworn they were Post-it note sized targets at 1000 yds, with actual lollipops in 4 ft tall weeds!!!
  10. Thanks, I will be watching. Was there last year and want to be sure I get back in!!
  11. Any update on availability and price?

    X5 Mods

I shoot a stock X5 Competition, in 9mm. Just want to know what type of mods you guys are making. Stippled grips, magwells trigger work, etc. Of course it shoots awesome as-is, but just curious. Thanks
  14. A have learned a ton by watching and questioning. Several points have stuck well enough to write them down. 1) 1 for 1 for 1 for 1,etc. Ratio of sight picture to target. 2) Some targets deserve more respect than others. Slow down on the smaller and farther ones, even the fast guys do this. 3) keep your pistol out of the ports. That extra 12 inches closer to the target is not worth the extra movement and potential misfeed when your slide hits the barricade.
  15. Ha, I got to get some game before it can be over!! Thanks for all the advice!
  16. Sunscreen, bug spray, camp chair, slugs
  17. Where did the new grips come from?
  18. I would be a potential buyer for my X5 Competition.
  19. Hello all. I am a lifelong shooter, that got out of it for a long time. This March I bought a new pistol and went to my first USPSA indoor match in April. 6 months later and I am shooting weekly, and have jumped into 3 gun with both feet. You see, I am in Lexington, KY, home of Bud's Gun Shop (budsgunshop.com) and C Adams of 3GN is a neighbor, so my habit is easily fed. I first used this forum to keep with with the ARFCOM 3Gun at RockCastle Shooting Center. It has proved to be amazing as a source of info and advice, and I have already completed a couple of acquisitions from the Classifed. 20. Now that was funny, I don't care who you are!
  21. Hey Randy, Robert here. I was the RO that tried to put his AR mag in his pistol!! HAHAHA. It was a pleasure shooting with you guys. And great shooting, by the way! We look forward to seeing you again in Central Kentucky. You can sign up for the BGSL e-mail list without being a member, and stay updated on 3 Gun, USPSA, IDPA, Steel Challenge, Bullseye, etc. Their calendar is full of cool stuff. Take care, Robert
  22. Just bought my new 60 rounder. Be advised, it will NOT seat in an Arrendondo mag well, without mods to the mag well. Of course now that I don't need to reload as much, I am going to sell the mag well. Also, I bought mine at the retail store for budsgunshop.com, and they how many of them at 109.99. Robert
