  1. "When I make cover calls, that's what I do (as SO). If your cross my imaginary line, they it's a cover violation. It allows me to be consistent, and timely with a "cover" call (which helps all but the speediest shooter)." +1, Great advice to new SO's. Take Care Bob
  2. From my experiences as a SO at State and Provincial matches the most common procedural is a "Cover Call". Generally they arise as the competitor is attempting to move as fast as he can through the stage. Faster than I can yell "Cover". As a shooter I generally earn procedurals in the latter stages of a match when I find my brain and body tend to have a major disconnect. Knowing and doing seem to get undone. Take Care Bob
  3. Tell me how you know that I have not released the mag if my hand and my mag are both in my pocket? I also don't understand why you can' run around shooting SHO with a mag in your hand...but thems the rules that I'll play by. Well in the original post he claimed it was. IF he fired the shot as his hand met the pocket then he gets the procedural, if he is running around with his hand in his pocket shooting one handed no procedural. The rule book says stowed. In this case however the SO called it is good for me. Take Care Bob
  4. "I've done a tactical reload on the way down a wall (target out of sight), shot the last target with the magazine in my hand, hand in pocket " By definition you commenced a Tac Reload when you drew the mag from your belt while you had a mag in your gun. You didn't complete the Tac Reload ie releasing the mag in your gun and stowing it. I think you earned a procedral by not completing your tac reload. The fact the mag was in your hand (Hand in pocket) I don't believe constitutes a stored mag. It is in your hand and in play. Thoughts? Take Care Bob

  7. My Norincos (Unramped barrel) and my Paras (ramped) feed 200 gr LSWC (H&G Design) like poop thru a goose. The 1911 was originally designed for a 200 gr bullet by Browning. It was the US Army that asked for and get the 230 gr bullet. Even the much shorter Lyman Cast 452460 bullets at OAL 1.161 work well. My preference is the 452630 design though and for no real reason. 8. Hi I just finished working up loads for IDPA/IPSC with my Tanfoglio "L" Model. I use Unique in the 9MM. Somewhat dirty but then I haven't found any powders that were what you recall clean. 4 gr of Unique under 125 gr FMJ and 124 gr lead boolits makes power factor of 125 in my guns, actually around 130 when chronoed with my Chrony. Take Care
