  1. It wont strip a round from the mag or the round won't go up into the chamber?
  2. I am using it on a slow computer with an even slower internet connection at work and it seems to be just fine. Thanks for letting me get a little taste of what I am missing while I am here at work and missing our local match!!
  3. I am not seeing the class I want to shoot Heavy Tactical(Optics)on the registration page. Am I missing something? Alan
  4. Yeah, I am kinda spoiled. It is nice having a World-class firearms resource just a few blocks down the road from the house.
  5. If Benny doesn't respond here, call him. He is a great guy and I am sure he can get it running for you.
  6. Im thinking that most of us in the AM side should be able to easily deal with a flasher at 200-300. AM should mean AM as in not a true pro level shooter. NOT someone who has never shot a few 3 Gun matches. Why not, I shot it last year and it was my first 3 gun and I wasn't alone. I didn't do great but I wasn't last and I was shooting my heavy metal gear against the TO guys. It was a great place to shoot and a bunch of really great people. I couldn't think of a better place to start 3 gun. Alan
  7. Nope I use one and I do not have any issues with the position of anything. In fact I like the ambi bolt release location. Alan
  8. Have you pulled the buffer and spring out of the buffer tube to make sure they are intact? Can you post pictures of both?
  9. Find someone that KNOWS the AR platform to help you fix this. The guy you talked to who said that the gun is cycling too fast doesn't know what he is talking about. If it happens when you hand cycle then it is not "the bolt moving too fast". Also a heavier buffer spring will make the problem worse unless it is a feed ramp issue and then it might work temporarily but still isn't a fix for the problem. Your AR has a mechanical failure that needs to be repaired by a person who knows how the platform operates and not just change parts hoping that one of the changes will fix it. Ask around and be preparded to ship it someplace.
  10. I'm in,only $25 to sign up and some goes to a good cause. I am only shooting 1 match that qualifies but maybe someone will win something. Geezer
  11. I raised the front sight to compensate for the M2 shooting high (working well), but it shoots to the left ~ 6 inches @ 50 yards. I will resort to try bending the barrel myself one of these days. Might try moving your front sight a little in the dove tail if you don't want to "whack" it on a pole.
  12. Tighten your magazine catch another turn that should help raise the magazine in the well. It might fix your problem.
  13. I was a witness to Benny "adjusting" the POI on the two prototype Mossberg 930's. Worked great but I am not up to it.
  14. Yes,Can you say Heavy Metal?!?
  15. Here is a copy of the "NON" existant email To Alan Clark, You are getting this message in advance of the posting on the internet because you were a shooter in last year's AR15.com – Rockcastle match, or you requested advance notification. The 2012 AR15.com – Rockcastle Pro Am 3 Gun Championship will be August 24th through August 26th. It is a 3 day match for Pro shooters and a two day match for Amateurs. Signing up for the match is a 2 step process. First, you sign in to obtain a registration code. The sign in process (to get a registration code for the application) will be Wednesday, February 15th at 9:30 Eastern Time (8:30 Central, 7:30 Mountain & 6:30 Pacific). Then, you add that code to the top of a completed application and send it to Rockcastle with your entry fee. The TEST Sign in Before the REAL Sign in on February 15th, feel free to fill out the information (http://www.lchico5u.com/ar15.html) and click the submit button. You will get a "form letter" email message from me within 24 hours so that you can be sure your information was properly transmitted. I will clear any information at 8:30 pm Eastern Time on February 15th, so you can practice up until then, signing in. The REAL Sign in If you cannot personally be online at the designated time of February 15th, get some else to complete the sign in for you. You can get shooting buddies to sign you in. You can have your child or spouse sign you in. There is no rule that you have to do it personally. If you plan to designate someone else to complete sign in, have them practice on the Test Sign In before the fifteenth of the month. Only the first sign-in will count, there is no need to . Note that I will not accept any official sign-in on the on-line list before 9:30 PM EST on February 15, 2012. There is an official clock on the page. Don't hit the submit button on February 15th before 9:30:00 on the clock. This advance notice lets you look over the information early, get familiar with the process, so that you can you get a registration code. We will not accept applications without a code. Please note that filling in the screen is NOT a speed event. Errors in the email address or phone number may make it impossible to reach you. Please make sure contact information is correct. On February 15th, get to the webpage a few minutes early, so that you can fill in the information correctly, and only need to click on the "submit" button once the time is correct. I will email you a code after you successfully submit the information to me after 9:30 PM February 15th. We DO NOT need applications in the same envelope. Do Not wait until you have all your friends together. First, get into the match. Then send me your squad requests (by email, by phone, scribbled on the application, etc). I will honor your squadding requests. These are 2 separate matches held at the same time: Different number of days to shoot, different stages, and different prize tables. You are welcome to try and obtain a registration code for both matches, but you will have to decide on the application which match you prefer to shoot. There will be separate registration lists and separate waiting lists for the Pro & Am matches. If you are assuming you will be a sponsored shooter, you STILL need to sign-in for a registration code. The details of how the sponsor covers your match fees will be negotiated with the folks at Rockcastle. At this time, we are still finalizing the match website and the application. Entry fees have not changed since last year ($250 for Pro and $125 for Am). The application will be on the updated match website before February 15th. Please email if you have any questions. To Alan Clark, Linda Chico (L-2035) 2012 ARFCOM-Rockcastle ProAm 3 Gun Statistician
  16. Apparently not many got it if such an email existed. Craig Well, I can assure that the email exists, as I received one. As to why others haven't, I do not know as I did not send it or request it and that is an issue that Ms Chico would have to respond to.
  17. I use Federal Heavy game loads 1&1/8oz of 6 shot I buy them online for $60 a case of 250 with shipping it is about the same as I pay for the cheap wally world stuff when you add tax. I think they would help you a lot. Every match that I shoot someone asks what I am using because it hits the targets hard and moves them well. If you can I would have your gun threaded. My 590A1 has been threaded and has a light modified choke installed. Good luck and have fun!
  18. Well Gents, It is done. Many thanks to the people that helped me get this thing together. I think it came out alright
  19. Thanks, That is what I thought but mine required what I thought was too much force. I will try again.
  20. Hey guys I am a Semiauto noob and I am unsure how to remove the bolt handle on the 712. Do you just pull it out or is there something that you need to do or is there a position that the bolt needs to be in to get it to come off? Sorry about the BASIC question but I do not want to damage my gun by doing something wrong. Thanks Alan
